Author Birthdays

There's lots and lots of holidays in December. I don't want to choose one and then have the others feel left out. But then of all the authors this month, its hard to choose one that isn't assigned for class reading and thus not so much fun to read outside of school.  Since I hate the cold and it is nothing but cold in my area this month, I will suggest reading KIM by Rudyard Kipling. I find it transports me to the steamy hot cities of India and the story captures my mind with its multiple twists and layers.
