She has been a full-time author ever since, publishing six novels --- four YA, and two for adults --- by the time she was twenty-six. She lives in Los Angeles. A graduate of Florida State University, Steve teaches journalism, creative writing, and Vietnam War literature at the University of Mary Washington. Steve and Janet have served for the past three years as co-directors of the religious education program at the Fredericksburg Unitarian Universalist Church.
