Book Trailer and Excerpt for THE BOOK OF SAMUEL
Friday, October 23, 2009
Erik Raschke's debut novel, THE BOOK OF SAMUEL, follows a teenage boy whose world gets turned upside down the day his father leaves his family. From that moment on, poor Samuel seems to have one trying situation after another thrown in his direction, making him seem more like a tragic biblical figure than an ordinary kid growing up in the '80s, just trying to make sense of the complex world around him.
We'll be reviewing THE BOOK OF SAMUEL next month, so check back soon! In the meantime, take a look at the trailer below, and download an excerpt here. And if you haven't read Erik's guest blog, you can do so here. Don't forget to let us know what you think in the comments below!

Jon Stewart Stars in I AM A GENIUS OF UNSPEAKABLE EVIL AND I WANT TO BE YOUR CLASS PRESIDENT Book Trailer
Thursday, October 8, 2009
Josh Lieb’s buzzworthy new novel, I AM A GENIUS OF UNSPEAKABLE EVIL AND I WANT TO BE YOUR CLASS PRESIDENT, will be hitting stores October 13, and it’s already catching our eye with a brand new book trailer starring Jon Stewart! Lieb is the executive producer of "The Daily Show," and he’s exerting his executive powers to get the funnyman to talk about his latest work, so we just had to share this video with all of you.
In the book, everyone in Omaha thinks twelve-year-old Oliver Watson is dumb as rocks, but he is really a mad evil genius on his way to world domination, and he’s used his tremendous brain to make himself the third-richest person on earth. He decides to run for class president of his middle school, but it seems getting kids to like you is way more difficult than overthrowing foreign dictators.
It looks to be a hilariously entertaining and memorable read, so check out the book's website, not to mention the video below, and let us know what you think!

Book Trailer for Amy Efaw's AFTER
Wednesday, August 12, 2009
Amy Efaw's buzzworthy new novel, AFTER, just hit stores yesterday and has a fantastic new book trailer that really caught our eye. So, we wanted to share it with you, along with a quick video of Amy discussing a couple of the real-life events that inspired her to write this story. It's about a seemingly perfect Stepford student and daughter, Devon, who suffers from a pretty bad case of denial over the fact that she's pregnant --- so much so that when the baby finally arrives, she abandons it in the trash.
It looks to be pretty powerful, edgy, dark, sad, and a little creepy, so check out the videos below, and let us know what you think!
