Spykid123@aol.com
Lord of the Rings

Frogs4U713@aol.com
I would want to read Shakespeare, because with the difficult language used it is trying to one's patience to understand unless you read it aloud with different voices. I would also like to read an epic storyline, such as Tolkien's writings, or Brian Jacques, because although these novels end, the story doesn't. During the upcoming season summer reading would also be preferred.

littleweasel6@hotmail.com
If I started a book club with my friends I would have us all read "Speak" by
Laurie Halse Anderson. I just finished reading this book and I am so

be the book I would have us read.

I would want everyone to read Only Alien on the Planet, by Kristen Randle. The book is about this boy, who never talks to anyone-not even his parents, until a girl moves in next door to him, and becomes determined to hear him talk. I loved the book, and I know other people will too.

Mlalbbf1617@aol.com
If I had a book club with my friends, I think we should all be required to read the book "Go Ask Alice." It is a diary of an anonymous girl who becomes a drug addict, and runs away from home numerous times. She keeps falling into the drug scene, even after doing very well in rehab. It is a very touching and educational book. I think this book should be required reading material for kids in sixth grade. The sixth grade is when most kids are introduced to drugs, alcohol, and other severe teen issues. This book clearly shows that it is not fun to be on drugs, as it tells you of all of the horrible tribulations that Alice went through because of drugs and drug addiction. I think that preteens and young teens are very impressionable. Things that people learn during puberty, usually stick with them through their teen years and often their adult liv! es. If they are required to read this book when they are young, the message will more than likely sick with them, and it may reduce the percentage of teen drug use. I read the book "Go Ask Alice" when I was 17; I had already tried a few drugs. Reading that book showed me how easy it is to slip into drug addiction, and I vowed to never use any drug again. I am 18 now and it has been about a year since I read the book "Go Ask Alice" and I have not done any drugs since. My best friend also read the book and vowed the same thing. She has been drug free for over 6 months. If this book had such a big impact on us, think of the impact it will have on other teens. Well, that's all, I guess. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

If had a book club with my friends i would want everybody to read the book
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, because the book is about friendship,
and even though they all had totally different lives over the summer which
didn't involve each other they still managed to keep in touch by writing
letters and they shared the pants, so i thought that was a really great
idea! for them to come up with!!!

I think if I had a book club with my friends would choose Star Girl by Jerry Spinelli. It isn't a really girlie book like the title makes it sound. Its a good read, and is told from a boys point of view. Leo (the books narrator) is a cool guy at school. He runs the in-school TV show and hangs out with the right people. Then Star Girl comes. She's different then anything their High School has seen. In the end when it is a choice between Star Girl, who he thinks he loves, and fitting in, Leo has to make a life and death choice. Because he chooses Star Girl, its the death of the popular Leo, if he chooses fitting in, its the death of Star Girl, because where Leo goes, Star girl goes. I think it appeals to both genders and teaches us about belonging, being different, and a lot about just generally caring about all kinds of people even though! se who hate you.

NOMANABI@aol.com
One book I really liked was called How I Changed My Life. It was about this girl named Bolita Vine, or called Bo by most of her friends. A few people teased her because her name was like bovine and she also was a little plump. Bo was in charge of this play. She couldn't believe this girl Chloe (someone who she was jealous) of was in the play. Also Chloe's boyfriend, Kyle was in the play. Bo liked Kyle. She started changing her life to maybe attract Kyle. She started to lose weight, change her hair color, wear some makeup, and even near the end she changes her name! Once she was caught kissing Kyle. Bo apologized to Chloe and they became friends. Bo never did get Kyle, but she probably thought changing her life was for the better. I think I should give it 3.5 stars.

CraZyBLazyLadi8@aol.com
The book that I would want my book club to read is Flyy Girl by Omar Tyree. Even though I need 7 pages that's missing out of my book in the last chapter. I would want everyone to read GOSSIP GIRL because I think it would be very interesting to see what my friends would think of this book. Would they approve of the characters lifestyles? Or would they think the characters were really just shallow, spoiled, and immature? Would they be jealous of the characters? I would love to hear my friends discuss this book if I could just convince them to start reading it! Once you start reading this book it is quite like gossip- you can't stop.
