The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
I could not set this book down at all when I was reading it! It only took me a day or less, but regardless, it's one of the best books I've ever read. The way she describes everything --- the fighting, the romance, the sadness and desperation --- it seemed so vivid and real. The romance is great but confusing, because of the fake relationship with Peeta and Katniss and then Katniss and Gale, and then it really has you thinking for the vast majority of this book. I highly recommend this to anyone, even if it seems to gory, it is anything but gory. It's perfect.

The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness
A pretty awesome book, set in a dystopia, where some humans have left Earth to settle on the New World, where animals can talk, and people can hear each other's thoughts. This book is quite long, but you won't be able to put it down, as death, truth, individuality and freedom are all explored in this book.

You Have Seven Messages by Stewart Lewis
The book was almost impossible to put down. Luna's character is a mix of artistic, spontaneous, and strong. As she goes through the process about finding out who her mother was two years after her death, Luna soon believes that the car that hit her wasn't accidental. Along the way she has crazy adventures and falls for a boy with very curly hair.

Sweet Burden by K. L. Ogden
I downloaded this book on my Kindle just because I saw that it had good reviews and WOW! It was so good. The characters were awesome and I loved the main guy. The main girl, Hitomi was really likable too. She's the kind of girl you would want to hang out with because she's just a simple goofy girl. I wasn't sure where the story was going to take me. The main mystery being what exactly is the main guy, Obi. I won't give anything away but he's not a vampire or a werewolf. And then at the end even a bigger mystery was revealed! I had a hard time putting this story down. If you've got an extra couple bucks, download this book! I can't wait for the continuation of this series.

James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl
I am enjoying reading this book. I think most of Roald Dahl's books are good. He describes the peach and the little boys' surroundings very well. He even makes a massive spider sound appealing.
Jemma T.
Little Darlings by Jaqueline Wilson
I really like this book because it is well written. My favourite part is when Destiny moves house.
Brianna A.
The Final Warning by James Patterson
I love this book! I like all of the action and fighting and how Fang and Max are always so close to getting together but then at the last second they don't! I have loved all of the other books I read by James Patterson, and this one sure didn't disappoint.
Katie Lyden
What Happened to Goodbye? by Sarah Dessen
I am an avid reader of Sarah Dessen novels, and when I found out that she had a new book out, I went out to get it as quickly as I could. So far, it is one of my favorites by her, and I hope she continues to write more books.

This is a great story about 4 teens going on a celebrity suicide road trip and in the end supposedly they are going to kill themselves. Along the way they learn that there's more to life. They hook up, become good friends, and they finally decide if life is worth living. I would recommend it to all teens.

Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
NOT the average vampire book, lots more action, complex plot. Better than the Twilight's for sure!
Melany Arbelo
Tricks by Ellen Hopkins
This book tells the tale of how three different lives take three different roads to the same place: prostitution. This forbidden topic in our society, this taboo, Ellen Hopkins describes to us their stories, makes us sympathize, empathize, and finishes by driving it straight to our hearts.
Elzahraa Elbenni
Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare
Great book! I loved it! Can't wait for the next book.
Ella Brunton
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
The Hunger Games are the sort of book you'd look at once and say okay. But once I started reading, I found this book to be one of the best written books of the decade!
Katnis Everdeen lives in the future. To provide for her family she and her best friend hunt animals illegally. But that isn't always enough.
The Hunger Games is ultimately a game show. A deadly television program that everyone is required to watch. Two teens from every district, one boy and one girl, get chosen to participate. Then they are sent to kill each other.
Katnis is an admirable character, she's strong and sensitive, witty and stubborn. She draws you into this story head first and doesn't let you out, be prepared to get hooked!
Lacee Jade Bowersox
Beautiful Disaster by Jamie Mcguire
This book is by a self published author named Jamie McGuire. This story kept me up all night long. I couldn’t put it down.
This book is about a girl named Abby Abernathy. She is the definition of a good girl, so we think. She finally escaped her poor excuse for a home with her best friend America. They got accepted to the same collage. America gets a boyfriend who she starts spending a lot of time with leaving Abby alone at most times, until America invites Abby to an underground fight where she meets Travis Maddox, America’s boyfriends' best friend, roommate, and undefeated underground fighting champ.
Travis is covered in tattoos. He is the bad boy type with outstanding smartness. He gets an interest in Abby because she is the only girl not falling head over heals for him like all of the rest and she has made it clear that she will not end up like the other girls either, so she thinks.
Jamie McGuire makes u fall in love with these characters and has you on your toes because how much they fight their feelings for each other. This read is an emotional roller coaster. She has you laughing, crying and growling in frustration

Tom Courtney "Toasty"
Helmet For My Pillow by Robert Leckie
If you want to read a good book about World War II experiences of the Pacific, Read "Helmet For My Pillow". This book is based off of HBO's Mini series "The Pacific". The book is very entertaining because Robert describes in full detail hhat he sees, what the people he interacts with are like, and the graphic horrors of warfare.

The Ruins by Scott Smith has potential as a book, but lacks connection with the reader on a personal level. You can not relate to the characters.
JennRenee McDaid

Madi
Through My Eyes by Tim Tebow
Tim Tebow did an excellent job writing this book. He made me realize that if I have faith, I could conquer anything. I just have to believe. Tebow shows us that with enough hard work, motivation, and faith, you will succeed in life.
Amber Ballantyne
Two Truths and a Lie by Sara Shepard
Sara Shepard is constantly keeping me on my toes, making me think I have the answer and then turning Emma's world upside down and making me rethink every suspect. I can't wait until the mystery is solved!!!

Ashes, Ashes by Jo Treggiari
ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS I HAVE EVER READ IN MY LIFE!!! If, you're into a post-apocalyptic, suspense filled journey from which the heroine is someone in many different senses, you could relate to, I HIGHLY suggest this book. and in all honesty, I say EVERYONE should read it. Dark apocalyptic life/ death romance, plague ridden. You'll Not Ever want to put it down.

The Compound by S. A. Bodeen
This is a rather short book, but is very interesting. Eli and his billionaire family go underground to the the Compound when a nuclear war starts. It's 6 years into the 15 year stay and things are becoming strange. With Eli's father so distant, and being the only one who knows how to get out, Eli becomes suspicious. It may start a little slow, but because you are learning about their life you stay interested.

The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan and Robert Venditti
I'm not too far into the book yet, but Rick Riordian is one of my favorite authors, and I love whatever he writes, so I'm sure this book will be just as funny, adventurous, and interesting as the others! I especially like his incorporation of mythology in his books.
Rasheda
Let it Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson, Lauren Myracle
This book was hilarious...it had just the right amount of sarcasm, irony, and surprises. It's about three holiday romances during the Christmas season, and the lives of each character become intertwined.
Maggie
Getting Over Garrett Delaney by Abby McDonald
I really liked this book, however I would've liked an epilogue explaining what happened next. They're always my favorite.
Lauren Cavness
The Hunger Games by Suzanna Collins
I saw the movie trailer and wasn't all that interested, but my best friend told me that she wanted to see it and wouldn't let me go unless I read the books first, so I found a copy on sale and gave it a try. I was very impressed! Great trilogy so far; can't wait to get my hands on the next two!

Olivia Zhao
I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou
Honestly, one of the most inspiring stories I've read, when you consider how prominent and influential a figure Maya Angelou is today. I admire her as a writer, especially in her usage of strong and personal themes, such as racism and identity.
Fredreanna Louisville
Delirium by Lauren Oliver
I'm not a fan of dystopian society books but Delirium has blown my mind. I've barely laid it down. I think everyone should read this book because it makes you look at the world in a different perspective.

Jordan Lundquist-Kohlman
Eona by Alison Goodman
Amazing book! I couldn't put the book down for three days!! The main girl is such a mystery you'll never see the end coming!!
Bailey
Dearly, Departed by Lia Habel
I love this book! It's different in not just the way it's written but the subject matter and the time period. It's not mainly about the love interest in the story but more about the race to find a cure for a disease that is plaguing an entire continent/world. It hooks you with each of the main characters stories. It's very well written and you can actually imagine what the characters look like down to the last detail. It's just a wonderful book that deserves a lot more recognition.
Celeste Miller
The Book of Lost Things by John Conally
This isn't your ordinary fairy tales its so dark and creepy I love it so far still reading and each page is like you can't get enough. I recommend this book to anyone who loves twisted fantasy with the Brothers Grimm tales.Just keep in mind its not a happy book. So if you love good happy endings don't be surprised if it isn't.
Monique Moreno
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
I couldn't stop reading this book and even though I'm finished with it, I haven't been able to put it down. When you begin reading it, you're sucked into a great story and later when you are finished you'll want to keep reading it. It makes you want more John Green! I've read all of his books and The Fault in Our Stars doesn't let down. :)
Eulalee Lumsden

Among the deluge of teen dystopian novels, this one stands out. The concept is very original, the issues raised are compelling, and the main characters are intriguing. I highly recommend this book.
Taylor Rees
The Pregnancy Project by Jenna Glatzer and Gaby Rodriguez
I find this book to be very interesting and the fact that it's a true story makes it all the more interesting. Gaby chose a hard route by faking a pregnancy for a project, but it definitely made her a better person.
jamie tingley
Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden
This book gives the view of a girl taken away from her whole family, forced to lives with people that hate her and work towards being something everyone says she will never be. Arthur Golden writes her story so beautifully it can make your heart hurt for the main character.

Long Way Down by Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman
Ewan McGregor is one of my favorite actors, and I have wanted to read this book for a long time! Paying almost twenty dollars for it was definitely worth it, because it is fantastic! It makes me laugh, cry, and cringe in the best ways possible!
Candice James
A Long, Long Sleep by Anna Sheehan
Talk about an under-appreciated (or under-publicized) story. I am so glad that I picked this book up; it totally blew me away. Not only is it a great dystopian story, but it is also fairy-tale retelling of Sleeping Beauty.
Amarilis Martinez
Stolen by Lucy Chistopher
Being kidnapped is awful. More so when your kidnapper asks you to do something impossible to love him. But for Gemma this is what her kidnapper Ty is asking her. She struggles against him plotting to run every chance she gets! In the harsh desert Gemma is struggling not to fall for Ty's charm. I read this and cried for Ty and Gemma. For Gemma and her confused heart. And for Ty's unmet love. If he loved her that much to build her a house. Why not do what most guys do and just ask her on a coffee date?
Jenna Page
Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare
I love The Infernal Devices! One of my favorite book series ever, Clockwork Prince and Clockwork Angel are absolutely amazing! The plot, characters, and setting are incredible, they make the novels more amazing, just blows my mind. Very well written, and I cannot wait for Clockwork Princess!
Jenna Brancatella
The Sky Is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson
"The Sky Is Everywhere" is an incredible novel. The way Nelson integrates poetry into the book is absolutely incredible. The novel is beautifully written, and the poetry is haunting. I recommend for everyone to read it, if you like tragedy and romance, you'll love it!
Bonny A.
Same Sun Here by Silas House and Neela Vaswani
This started off slow and then got interesting, but the book simply fizzled out in the end. The entire story consists of the two characters, River, a boy who lives in Kentucky, and Meena, an Indian Immigrant who lives in NYC, writing letters back and forth. They both are participating in a pen pal program and share the happenings in their lives. Unfortunately at times the different voices of the characters, which start out distinct get mixed up and you have to back track to remember who is speaking.
Jacqueline Cook
Sophie & Carter by Chelsea Fine
I loved this touching YA contemporary romance!
Chika Okonkwo
Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver
It's so good! Very charming and new! I love it so far.
Allison
The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath
A classic definitely worth reading! This book is both haunting and mesmerizing, with visceral descriptions that feel like you could touch them. Esther's story is gripping and real, and so addicting -- I finished it in a day!
Emma Hoke
Touch of Power by Maria V. Snyder
LOVED it! I've always enjoyed fantasy books set in medieval times, and this one definitely doesn't disappoint. The action was nonstop the whole way through, with no dull parts. And it was funny too, which I didn't expect. Avry is now one of my favorite female characters in YA literature-- she could totally kick-butt, and she was snarky and thoughtful too. The way her and Kerrick clash was hilarious, but you could also tell they liked each other under all those jabs. The minor characters also had complex backgrounds and great personalities. I can't believe I have to wait a YEAR for the next book!
Megan L
The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan
So far, the book is really good. I'm a huge fan of the Percy Jackson series and Greek mythologies. A good friend of mine read this about a year ago and said he hated the book (he's an even bigger Percy Jackson fan than I am lol). So far I don't understand why he "hated" it; yeah, it is a little odd reading about Egyptian mythology but I find it odd because I've never read or studied Egyptian mythology (so far it's pretty cool!) But when he said he didn't like the book I kinda put off reading it and read other books instead. But like I said so far it's pretty good!
Natasha
Crescendo by Becca Fitzpatrick
I loved this book and can't wait to read Silence.
Adrianna
Accidentally Famous by Lisa Papademtriou
It was a good book and I like how she had to choose either the Fashion Fundraiser or the Academic Challenge.
Jenny Harrison
The Dressmaker by Kate Alcott
I am usually not a fan of historical fiction, but thought I would try this out. Pretty slow start.
Karuna Mirza
Of Poseidon by Anna Banks
I'm still working my way through this one, but I stayed up until twelve last night, so it's obviously turning out to be a good read. Readers who enjoy Tera Lynn Childs' Fins trilogy will probably like this one - it's mainly flangst (fluff + angst), a cute leading man...er...merman...and tons of drama about their world colliding with the human world, through a girl who's very dangerous (in a pair of flip flops).
Julia
Code Orange by Caroline B. Cooney
I liked the book but at the end it was a little hard to follow.
Janel Dowling
Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver
If it is anything like Delirium, then I want it! :)
Lane Beaver
Prince of Thorns by Mark Lawrence
Not your average teenage novel, this book quickly became one of my favorites due to its "Assassin's Creed" feel. It is very dark when posing the question of how far you are willing to go for revenge, but brilliant nonetheless. For a first novel, it's well-written, riveting, and poignant. I can't wait for the second book to come out.
Erin L. Schneider
Hourglass by Myra McEntire
I really wanted to like this book - and it started out great. However, the spin it took with the whole time travel aspect wasn't at all what I was expecting (I really wanted this to be a ghost story, which it started out as)...and I don't think that was in a good way. I felt the writing to be a bit junior - falling really fast for the main boy, a rushed love-triangle that was only half-baked, and almost cliche-type characters all around.
Overall, it was okay - not great.
Geanine
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
This books are just A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Loads of suspense and I couldn't put the book down! I get in trouble in school for reading in lessons. I love all the characters (especially Peeta) but I almost cried in some parts of the book.
Annika
Getting Over Garrett Delaney by Abby McDonald
I'm currently reading Getting Over Garrett Delaney, a book about 17-year-old Sadie who is on a mission to detox herself over the summer from her best-friend-crush on Garrett Delaney. I'm enjoying it for the twist in teen romance: falling out of love instead of in.
Meagan Voss
The Iron Knight by Julie Kagawa
This is a great book. I have read all of her other books and fell in love with them. Meghan, Ash, and Puke are all different characters and it makes it a more interesting read.
Erin
Blue Eyes and Other Teenage Hazards by Janette Rallison
This is a pretty good book. It has SOME original ideas, like the main character's new friend having bipolar disorder and drinking problems. However, most of the book's plot is very unoriginal, like the main character's new friend falling in love with her long-time crush, and the main character falling in love with her new friend's brother.
I wouldn't recommend this book to a friend because there's lots of books out there that are better, but I wouldn't discourage it because it still has some worthwhile substance.
Meagan Voss
City of Glass by Cassandra Clare
This book is phenomenal, the characters, the action, everything. I can not for the newest one.

Tanya Maxemow
Fateful by Claudia Gray
Great retelling of a true story with a supernatural spin.
Arian Albert
Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
Interesting take on a recently over-done topic: the dystopia. I liked the romance, and the "powers", and the authors repetition in the writing gave it a bit of uniqueness!
Kimberly Meza
Shipbreaker by Paolo Bacigalupi
Just started this for Battle of the Books competition! Not yet sure what to think. Have not heard good things about but I want to stay optimistic.
Gabbi
The Fault in our Stars by John Green
The Fault in our Stars is a brilliant book littered with big words, hilarious lines and tragically sad moments. This book will change your life and the way your view the world around you. It is very well written and John Green's best book so far. I love this book and I think that everyone in the world should read it.

Vampire Diaries by Lisa Jane Smith
Vampire Diaries was a very engaging book which delivered all the emotions required to keep me on my toes and anticipating what happens next. As soon as I checked this book out about 4 days ago. I found myself staying up reading, I simply wasn't able to put the book down. I have almost finished the book within 4 and a half days, because its a great teens/young adult read and its not as sappy as most stories, it has more excitement and it leaves you wondering. unlike most stories I've read where i can guess what will happen next. I absolutely recommend this book to anyone who likes supernatural books or just loves reading because this book will be worth your time. happy reading. (:
Nina Corbo
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
John Green has to be one of my favorite authors of all time. The subject matter and the way he writes is very appealing for young adult readers. Although this book is about two teens with cancer, John Green some how makes them very likable and the reader wants to read about what is going to happen with these two teenagers.
Miranda
The Girl With the Dragon Tatto by Stieg Larsson
The beginning is hard to get into but by the middle it's really good.
Martha McClintock
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
Okay...I am only about a third of the way into the book but I am already loving the characters. And isn't that the number one important quality of a good book?
Tia Dalley
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
I enjoyed it but was disappointed with the fact that two were allowed to live. I found it unrealistic compared to the way everything else was going in the book.

Ruthless by Sara Shepard
I am not completely finished with this book yet, but so far I really like it. I have been into this series since it first came out and I think Shepard does a great job of still keeping it suspenseful and unexpected.

Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake
Amazing. The story kept me hanging and breathless at every page I turned. I was literally biting my nails throughout the book. Wow.

Fever by Lauren DeStefano
So far for the readers who have read wither, fever has been an exciting plot twist that takes the center stage for an awesome read. While reading this I have been addicted to the very end. I'm truly anticipating DeStefano's final work. Readers will not be disappointed.
June Drotleff
The Probability of Miracles by Wendy Wunder
Even though the subject of this book is sad--the main character is dying of cancer--her family's attitude and hope buoy her spirits enough for her to tackle her bucket--I mean flamingo--list. Little miracles happen all around her making her last summer her best summer.
Cici Li
Hallowed by Cynthia Hand
This book is definitely one of best that I've read in 2012. After reading the first book, Unearthly, I couldn't wait for the sequel to be released, and Cynthia Hand didn't disappoint. The plot was fantastically intriguing and the characters made me feel like I was right there in the action with them (Oh, Tucker). It just broke my heart when he admitted that the best thing he could do for Clara was let her go :(
Kara Kinsman

I'm reading this book for my Book Club, the Page Turners. It's a fantasy novel about a girl who must lead a group of males to free her country from invaders.
Bonny Anderson
Unlocked by Ryan Van Cleve
This was an amazing novel in verse that discussed the issue of guns and bullying. When is it OK to tell that your friend is bringing a gun to school? Well the obvious thing is to tell right away, but Andy shares his unique take on the situation. Excellent and quick read!
Bonny Anderson
The Best and Hardest Thing by Pat Brisson
This is an amazing story of a pregnant teen. At the age of Molly loses her mom, her best friend and her status as a saint. She never would have thought that she could get pregnant her first time! But she also though she could trust Grady to use a condom. Excellent novel in verse!
Aisha Taylor
Prom and Prejudice by Elizabeth Eulberg
This book was amazing. It went along with Jane Austins Pride and the Prejudice. It was everything that you would imagine would happen if Darcy, Elizabeth, Jane and Bingley came to our world. It is funny and romantic and happens the way every girl wishes it would!
Hannah Richstein
Juliet Immortal by Stacey Jay
This was a fantastic book, and I couldn't help but cheer for the two lovers in their seemingly impossible relationship. Sometimes I got so frustrated with the narrator because she kept denying herself love. This book was definitely worth the read this spring break.
Stephanie
The Future of Us by Jay Asher and Carolyn Mackler
Two kids from the past somehow gain access to Facebook, seeing what their future lives are like. But wait - with every small action, there are consequences, and their future is constantly changing. This is an awesome, unique book, and I recommend it!
Ellen Larson
Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen
I am enjoying this book immensely. I first saw the movie with Emma Thompson last week, and I fell in love with it. While a little hard to understand sometimes, this book is everything the movie is and more. Everything is very vivid, and the plot grabs me in a way I thought classic literature couldn't. I highly recommend it!
Caleb Wells.
Siren's Fire by K. M. Wells
Found this on Amazon's Kindle for 99¢, thought it would be worth a buck; but I was wrong it was way better! Great character development, as well as some good action made this fun read!!
Bonny Anderson
Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver
Lauren Oliver is genius! Pandemonium is even better than Delirium. It was definitely worth the wait! I don't want to give too much away but I will say that the first few chapters do start off a little slow filling us in on what happened after Delirium, but the action is good and fast paced once the story gets flowing!
Dana Cousin
Dairy of a Vampeen by Christin Lovell
I love this book, it is just really amazing.
Chloe

The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks
Sparks main character in The Lucky One is ex-marine, Logan Thibault. Logan has served three tours of duty in Iraq and believes his survival is due to a lucky picture he found of an unknown woman. Once he completes his tour of duty, he walks from Colorado to Hampton, North Carolina in search of the woman in the picture.
The storyline stays true and builds to an exciting climax. There are stories within this story that adds story interest. Sparks knows how to build a story and keep a reader anxiously turning pages.
Sara
Playground by 50 Cent
This book has great voice, illustrations, and I feel as though I am there with the main character - Butterball.
Miranda
The Way We Fall by Megan Crewe
I was surprised by how realistic this story was. The situation the inhabitants of the island were facing with the epidemic seemed very plausible which really made me think about how I would act if I where there. The relationships between the characters was written very well, with the novel having a vast array of great characters. The book was gripping from start to finish and I absolutely loved reading it! I cannot wait to read the next installment in the trilogy next year!
Autumn Basler
MockingJay by Suzanne Collins
Very good book. This is the 3rd book in the Hunger Games trilogy. Each book has gotten better and better, they keep your attention all through the book with twist and turns everywhere. It gets deeper into the relationships between Peeta and Gale. I could not put this book down until i got to the end. Its Amazing! i would recommend this to anyone!
Elaina Estrin
Looking for Alaska by John Green
I could not put this book down, it made me laugh and cry all at once! I experienced everything as if I were a character in the book. Hands down one of my favorite books, unforgettably witty and entertaining. You will not regret picking this book up.

Katelyn Ferguson
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
While I had previously read this book 4 years prior to today, I opened my copy of the Hunger Games in preparation for the big movie to come. This book is just as amazingly captivating the second time around. My absolute favorite book along with Delirium by Lauren Oliver.
Josh
The Power of Six by Pittacus Lore
Favorite series ever!

The Rook by Daniel O'Malley
My first impression of The Rook by Daniel O’Malley was WOW that is a big book, so it better be good to be that long. Then I crack the cover and see Myfanwy Thomas and was scared it was going to be one of those books where even an educated person might need to consult a dictionary, especially for pronunciation. I am just one of those people that need to know how words are supposed to sound even when reading to myself otherwise I waste a lot of time saying the same word over and over. O’Malley was brilliant and within the first page he gives you “Miff-un-ee.” The book opens with a letter that starts like this: “Dear You, The body you are wearing used to be mine.” For those that base whether or not they continue reading by the first few lines, well like me you wont’ be able to stop. For those that read the first chapter O’Malley has you too. This book just grabs on to your imagination and doesn’t let go.
Allyson
Harry Potter and Order of the Phoenix by J.K Rowling
Even though I may be reading this series a lot later than most people have, this book is really good but it saddened me that one of my favorite characters died.
Elisheva
Miracle on 49th street by Mike Lupica
It's a very good book and when you first pick up the book, you can't just put it down because you can't wait to see what's going to happen next.
Tabitha Lewis
The Sapphire Talisman by Brenda Pandos
This is the second book in a series about a girl who's fallen in love with a vampire. When her boyfriend's Mom shows up and turns him to the bad side, she teams up with an unlikely group to turn him back.
Maria Reynolds-Weir
Girl Wearing a Tangerine Scarf by Mohja Khaf
This is "Higher Ground" as an intercultural religious and Midwestern experience. Khadra goes through every stage of struggle with 'missionary' parents who set up a Dawah Center in Indianapolis IN. It covers maturing from a religious fundamentalist into an American girl who adheres to faith and can live with a whole self in an American landscape, with all of its struggles and paradoxes.
Shelby
Possession by Elana Johnson
Possession is a dystopian, sci-fi type of novel. I'm not done reading it, but so far it's a really good read. It reminds me of Matched by Ally Condie, which is another good dystopian I've read recently.
mckena roberts
Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher
I actually just finished it, so I am in the "finish with this one, about to read this one". It was a really good book! I have a soft spot for book about emotional things like suicide, so it already had an advantage!
Heather S.
Salt by Maurice Gee
Salt is the first in a trilogy, about a young, poor thief and a rich girl named Pearl. It was thrilling, exciting read, and I really enjoyed it. I really like the boy, Hari, because he didn't seem like the typical hero. The only sticking part for me was the character Tealeaf - she seemed like a crutch for the characters use, someone who is all knowing and has an endless supply of knowledge. I kind of got annoyed with her.
Elizabeth Longest
Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
I don't have the words to give enough justice to the amazingness of this book. Beautiful does not begin to describe the incredible artistry that is contained in these pages. Breathtaking, heartbreaking, magical. Wow. My new favorite for sure!
Diane Pollock
Enchantments by Kathryn Harrison
Delightful way to learn a little history!
Destiny Buchanan
Iron Queen by Julie Kagawa
I loved her books, I've read the first three in this series. I honestly can't wait until I am able to read the next one.
KirB
The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
I don't know how to rate the book because I don't know what I think of it...it isn't fantasy, and it's not a love story. It has no real action and the world isn't saved. It's just a boy, going through his freshmen year of high school and dealing with the things many of us teens have to deal with. And yet, it's not a book I'll be forgetting any time soon. There is something about it that makes it worth the read. But I think that something is different for each reader.
Samantha
The Lying Game by Sara Shepard
The Lying Game is a super good book that keeps you going and you won't want to put it down!
Sara Shepard also wrote Pretty Little Liars so if you like those books you will love this one!
Emelly Palma
The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros
This book has so much Latino heritage. It really relates to teenagers.
X Baker
Matched by Ally Condie
It is a really amazing book about a girl. When she turns 18 she is supposed to be matched with a guy by her society and the society controls everything even her future job. The main story conflict Is a fight against herself to choose who she wants to be with her true love or someone the society wants her to be with
Sandra Ogunleye
City Of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare
There is something about Cassie's writing that lures me into each of her books and leaves me wanting more. I can't get enough of her fascinating world building and her addicting characters. You know the characters whom you just can't seem to read enough about? City of Fallen Angels is full of pleasant and shocking twists and turns with some of my beloved characters, and with other previously mentioned TMI series characters. Cassie has a talent for making me invest so much of myself emotional with her characters.
Chika Okonkwo
Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver
So Good!!!!!
Jacqueline Masciale
The Fault In Our Stars by John Green
The Fault in Our Stars is an amazing book that kept me riveted from beginning to end. I went through the entire emotional spectrum while reading this book. I truly believe that I will always keep this one close to my heart and I'll be frequently reaching for another re-read.
Rufayda
Devoted by Hillary Duff

Amanda
The Missing Girl by Norma Fox Mazer
This story gives readers a different, inside look on how we view stories of rapists and pedophiles and how normal they could seem.
Christine
Wither by Lauren DeStefano
I love this book so far. It has an extremely interesting premise and the story doesn't disappoint. It's not one of those stories in which the premise is very promising but the story doesn't deliver. I can't wait to pick up the next book in the series.
Sierra Saylor
Switched by Amanda Hocking
It's been so long since I've found a book so captivating. The author does a great job getting to the point of the story and making the characters believable despite the magical nature of the book.
Megan Lord
Elasting by Elizabeth Chandler
This series... Ohman do I wish I could have a love life like Ivy's. Elizabeth Chandler has once again kept me up through the entire night turning pages eager to find out what happens. The end of her most recent book Everlasting is of course a cliff hanger (to my dismay and I'm sure many others, lol) and has once again left me in tears as did every one of her books. I'm not writing this to win a contest I writing it to simply share my feelings on this amazing series that I love dearly (:
Andrea Snowadski
Deadline by Cris Crutcher
Realistic portrayal of an 18-year-old boy that learns he has one year to live- and decides to not tell anyone so that he can live that year to the fullest. A rare novel with a male protagonist that is funny and honest. I have had seven middle school boys read this book and they have ALL loved it.
Lauren Mueller
Switched by Amanda Hocking
Very well written, engaging story
Dominique
Bone: Tall Tales by Tom Sniegoski and Jeff Smith
It is a really good comic book for kids. You get to see this really cute creature I hope kids will read it.
Lael Wentland
Legend by Marie Lu
A wonderful fast-paced Dystopian novel that anyone would want to read. Do not be fooled by the cover, hiding inside is a gem of a book!
Day and June seem to live in separate worlds and different paths in life, one a thief, the other the military's prodigy. Only the truth can bring them together.
Rachel
Daughter of the Centaurs by Kate Klimo
I absolutely loved The Daughter of the Centaurs! Kate Klimo did an awesome job of bringing Malora's story to life. The beginning of the book seemed a little stilted to me at first, but the story quickly fell into a rhythm that seemed perfect for this futuristic story. I loved that the story felt like a historical fiction book, when in fact it was set several hundred, maybe thousands, of years in the future. Malora is an awesome main character; she's strong and independent, and not at all fickle, which is what I look for in a main character. She knows what she wants and doesn't change her mind without a good reason. She knows when she's wrong and will do whatever she has to to make things right. This was really an amazing book. I definitely recommend it. If you do nothing else, please go and at least read the synopsis for this book. It was a truly wonderful book, and I already can't wait for sequels to come.
Merisha Abbott
Tiger's Voyage by Collen Houck
OMG! This series is an awesome fictional story! I can't decide if I'm team Ren or team Kishan. I so want to know what happens to Kelsey! I am just dying to read the next book!

Rot & Ruin by Jonathan Maberry
EVERYONE should read the book " Rot and Ruin" By Jonathan Maberry. It will change your out look on A LOT of things, not just life, but everything really. You may pick it up and say "oh it's only about Zoms." but that my friends, is where you'd be mistaken. It's so much more then that. Its a continues journey, the post zombie apocalyptic deal is only a backdrop. It's a story of survival. Not of the fittest. But of the strongest. The strongest in will, in emotion, in love. It's the story of changing perspective. And how you should ALWAYS get to know some one before you make up your mind upon who they are. Even your own brother. You never know. they could have been or will be the one who saves your skin. Compassion knows no boundaries, but neither does the monster that we call "man".
Lizel Lizaso
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
Very well written book. It is noticed that it is Harper Lee's way of fighting back against society using writing. Throughout the book you notice some things occur- loss of innocence between Scout and Jem, prejudice and racial discrimination. It is a powerful book, and has important events in history such as the Scottsboro Case.
Tammy Ha
The Book of Lost Things by John Connolly
The book is about a boy who loses his mother and has to live with a new step-mother and step-brother. He is jealous, but soon learns to grow up through his adventure in another world. There, he battles monsters and learns about the creatures who dwell there, while hearing retold stories of fairy tales in a twisted way.
Joanna
Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater
Amazing. Young, forbidden love is so sweet!
candice-rae calderin
Dreaming in Cuban by Cristina Garcia
It is an amazing book. Truly gives you insight to the Cuban revolution and its after math on Cuban families.
Kate McHale
Left to Tell by Imaculee Ilibagiza
This is the story of Imaculee Ilibagiza, a woman who survived the Rwandan genocide in 1994. The writing is very clear and insightful and Illibagiza allows readers to really step into her mind, even though the terrible things she witnessed and experienced are difficult to imagine. This book is very worthwhile to read and it is very easy to follow along!
Janessa
The Poison Apples by Lily Archer
This is a book about three very different girls who become friends when they discover that they each have an "evil" step-mother. It's funny and entertaining. Even though some of the characters' decisions may seem ridiculous at times, the ending is surprisingly and refreshingly realistic.
Janessa Yu
Wonderstruck by Brian Selznick
Even though this book is classified as a children's book, it is a beautiful work of art that should be enjoyed by all. The story is told through artwork and words from two different points of views. As you watch Ben and Rose's stories parallel each other and then finally intersect, you'll simply become Wonderstruck.

There You'll Find Me by Jenny B. Jones
Jenny B. Jones is one of those authors whose work you simply can't help but fall in love with. Healing. Ireland. Teen actor. Need I say more?

Shut Out by Kody Keplinger
If you loved The Duff and are expecting more of the same from Shut Out, you will be disappointed. However, Shut Out is a great book that has more of an entertainment value than The Duff's darker tone.
Janessa Yu
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
In spite of the good reviews this book has gotten, I did not care very much for it. It didn't seem to have a clear plot or destination. But give it a try for yourself and see if you agree.
Janessa Yu
Beauty Queens by Libba Bray
I love Libba Bray for her brilliance and versatility. Beauty Queens is hilarious ... at least for the first third of the book. Then all of the quirks become a little repetitive and the humor wears off. Then the story gets even weirder than expected. Not necessarily in a good way. Still, it was worth a read just to take a visit into Libba Bray's mind.
Courtney
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
The book was thrilling and suspenseful in the sense where I was surprised and waiting to see what happened next. Katniss was a beautiful character and grew as a person and heroine as the story progressed.
Bonny Anderson
The Nightmare Garden by Caitlin Kittredge
This one is way better than the first. The first book in the Iron Codex series took a while to get going. There was too much background info that bogged down the story. This one jumps right into the action and fills in the blanks enough to remind readers who is who and what happened at the end of the next book. Fantasy and steampunk fans should pick this one up!
Ivan
City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
The book, City of Bones by Cassandra Clare, is one of the very few books I get obsessed with. Cassandra Clare created a wonderful series that constantly make me wait by the door for the postal man to drop the next book. I love the style of the story. Each little detail Clare adds, builds up to the climax. And once you're on the last page of the book, Clare leaves us with another problem that arises in Clary and Jace's life.
Arianna
Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly
This book was the best historical fiction I have ever read. And that's saying something, considering I rather dislike historical fiction. Andi was a written with such a real personality, a real character that could exist outside the world of the novel. The plot, her struggles, Alex's struggles, and the tie-in of real french history made the book very realistic and wonderful to read. I would gladly read it again, and I highly recommend it to anyone with a taste for french history and a love for realistic characters facing everyday struggles by ordinary people.

The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury

The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh
Beautifully written novel about a alienation and connection. The characters are fascinating. Reminds me of White Oleander.
