The Long Earth by Terry Pratchet and Stephen Baxter
The possible infinity of parallel earths is available to the public when the diagram for a device called a "stepper" is posted online. Seemingly benign, made of wires, a switch, a box, and a potato, it allows the user to "step" sideways into a parallel earth where an alternate present resides. This book is about how this changes society and the people who make it up, the issues it raises, like the division between those who can't step and those who can, whether the government can control people settling in other earths, whether part robots can be considered humans...It's a fascinating look at futuristic adventures.

The Rise of Nine by Pittacus Lore
I love this sci-fi series about the nine Lorien children and the evil aliens that want to wipe them out. It's like Superman times nine. Very cool. I also really enjoy visiting the series website. I would especially recommend it if you are also a true fan of the series. Right now you can get a sneak peak at Eight's Origin, the fourth book in the series.
Eden Martin
Abandon by Meg Cabot
Abandon is a very good book! If you like teen love stories then you will love this book! It had the perfect amount of romance and secrets. Most of the secrets had to do with the love between Pierce and John. It was the type of book that kept you turning pages and by the time you thought you were in the middle of the book you realized that you had finished it. It wasn't too short or too long, it was very well written! I am very happy that my friend recommended this book! I will definitely buy the second one!
Holly Biggs
Origin by Jessica Khoury
Origin is a rattling good read! The story of seventeen-year-old Pia, the first immortal, and her path to discover the truth of her existence/purpose is inviting, beautifully written, and romantic beyond a doubt. Will she give up her whole idea about the future for a mortal jungle boy? You will not stop reading until you find out.
marybeth astorino
Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
This book completely sucks you in from the beginning and never lets go!
Joshua Blair
Maximum Ride: Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports by James Patterson
Extremely good and a must read. I recommend starting from the very beginning of the series or else it will be very confusing. It will take you on a extremely fun, fast, and action-packed adventure. You will love all the characters but, sometimes they can be extremely frustrating.
Juan Martin
The Rise of Nine by Pittacus Lore
A non-stop action, nail biter of a book that you will not be able to put down. I wish more books could be like this one.
Jake Maloney
The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
I enjoyed this book very much because I could relate to the main character, Charlie. I thought it was very well written, and I especially liked they way it was written because it was in diary form. The book setting takes place in high school in 1991-1992. I would definitely recommend this book to the ages of 13 and above because it does deal with some real life situations such as sex, drugs, alcohol, and smoking. If you read this book you will really enjoy it and learn from it as much as I did. It also came out as a movie, but you should always read the book before seeing the movie!
Priya Gurjar
The Book Thief by Mrkus Zusak
There are very, very few books that can have a life changing impact on a teenager.
Very Few. But, occasionally, you read a book like "The Book Thief" and you stop everything you're doing and READ. Contrary to what the summary says, this novel is anything but a "small story". It is a monumental story that is bound to be a classic. The Book Thief is an utterly poignant & heart-breaking book that will move you. It's beautifully surreal, with the masterfully written language reflecting the alien, non-understandable, strangely fascinating nature of the narrator, Death. It's the mix of strange metaphors, semi-dictionary entries & frequent strange asides that makes this book so unique.
Shawndra Green
Ruby Red by Kerstin Gier
Wow, what a whirlwind of a book! I COULD NOT stop reading it! AMAZING!
Becca Murdoch
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
This is my absolute favorite book of all time!
Chasam Blidi
Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare
My reason for picking this book is that when I read this book I actually felt as if I was a part of the story. I literally didn't want to put it down, which was quite unfortunate after I finished reading it. It's an amazing book, the characters draw you in, and the plot itself throws you a curve-ball every chance you get.
Candice Duffey
Son by Lois Lowry
Looks like a good read!
Gina Sandoval
Divergent by Veronica Roth
Great read! Super fast-paced dystopian young adult book. You will be hooked on the series!
Erica Beaton
Looking for Alaska by John Green
In celebration of the American Library Association's Banned Books Week, I recommend John Green's "Looking for Alaska." This book engages readers in a hilarious yet heartbreaking tale that teaches so much more than "concerned citizens" warn.
Marie-Louise Molloy
Seconds Away by Harlan Coben
Gripping from the beginning, a great new YA series!
Celeste Miller
Enshowed by kelly creagh
I love this second book! It is really good for a sequel, and I can't wait to read the last one.
courtney gendreau
Hemlock by Kathleen Peacock
It was a great book! I absolutely loved it. It was a long book, but it was action-packed and had so many twists and turns.
courtney gendreau
Of Poseidon by Anna Banks
I loved this book, I saw some of the twists coming, but it didn't matter because the book was so funny. It was a real page turner.
courtney gendreau
One for the Murphys by Lynda Mullaly Hunt
It was such a great book!! It made me want to cry but made me really happy too. It was a sweet book, filled with humor, happy and sad moments. It was really well-written!
alicia marie ezell
Hanging by a Thread by Sophie Littlefield
One of the best I've read this year, for sure!
Samantha George
Ice by Sarah Beth Durst
I would definitely recommend this because of how magical the book was. While I was reading this novel, I felt like I was in another room. It is a cross between a few folk tales, but put into modern terms that any teenager can understand and love. The romance in the novel is tasteful and very fairytale-like, but also realistic. The adventure is absolutely hypnotizing, so much that a person would wish they were with the main character. The main character, Cassie, is relatable to most teens but has a dark twist on her past. Her journey with the polar bear king is fantastic!
Alexandra
Code Talker by Joesoph Brushac
It is an exciting novel that explains the brutal war between the Japanese and the U.S.
Jocelyn
Oppression by Jessica Therrien
The book was very well written.
Morgan Gauvin
I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have to Kill You. by Ally Carter
This book is really good! I love it! It is perfect for a teenage girl!
Kaycee Corwin
Beautiful Lies by Jessica Warman
An amazing story line, with quite a few unexpected turns!
Chelsea Gritz
Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
From the very beginning, this book had me hooked. The subtle Russian influence makes it foreign enough that you can believe it's in a completely different world. Alina is a character easy to connect to, while not being too far fetched to not believe she's a real person. Throughout the entire book I was never sure who the enemy was and who Alina's allies were. Can't wait for the next book to come out. I recommend this to all readers ages 13 and up.
Lane Beaver
The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
Read it! Read it! Read it! And love it! And cry and laugh with it! And learn something from it!
Four stars just because I couldn't recommend it to younger kids.
Alyssa
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
It is one of the best thrillers you can ever possibly read. "The Hunger Games" is definitely a page turner. All of my friends whom I told about the book, absolutely LOVED it! I'm not going to say much, you've just got to read the book!
Grace Shudrowitz
The Calling by Kelley Armstrong
This book was amazing -- one of my all time favorite books. I gave it five stars because I thought the first book, The Gathering, was good, but this is way better. It has way more action and thrills than the first, which is all about romance. I recommend this book to anyone who likes action, thrills, fantasy and romance. This book is like The Hunger Games because these teens get stranded in the wild, but they don't know who to trust because now there are two groups after them, but lucky for these teens they have these weird powers that they are just now finding out about on their own...
Cathryn Butler
I Am Number Four by Pitticus Lore
If you enjoy sci-fi mystery adventures, then this is the book for you! This story follows Four, or as earth knows him, John, who is an alien from the planet Lorien. While on Earth, John starts to develop "legacies" or super powers. He soon finds out he is being hunted by the evil Mogadorians. This is an amazing, heart-racing thriller.
Clair Calhoun
Son by Lois Lowry
It's the conclusion to my favorite series.
Heather Johanning
The Chaperone by Laura Moriarty
Based on the life of Silent Movie Actress Louise Brooks, who was chaperoned when she was 15 years old to New York City. This story centers on her chaperone Cora's life, and is a bittersweet novel of love, discovery and epiphany.
Hannah Marschall
Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
This book has everything: romance, mystery, fantasy!
Hannah Johnson
So Yesterday by Scott Westerfeld
I love the whole concept of how "cool" is created. As always, Scott Westerfeld has created a fantastic and imaginative, but realistic world.
Michelle Archer
Bloody Jack by L.A. Meyer
I loved this story of a young girl trying to escape the streets of London by posing as a ship's boy. Hilarious situations as she tries to hide her secret and enjoys adventures on the high seas.
Julie
The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart
After I started reading this book, I realized it's a young adult novel. But I am really enjoying it. It is very cleverly done. Dozens of kids respond to a peculiar ad in the newspaper and are then put through a series of mind bending tests, which the readers take along with them. Only four children, two boys and two girls succeed. Their challenge is to go on on a secret mission that only the most intelligent and inventive children could complete. It's lots of fun.
Maile Etherton
Divergent by Veronica Roth
I would recommend this book to people who like adventure and like twists and turns. I think the book is very interesting and unique. I love this book!
Peyton Swain
The Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare
A very good book. A little slow at the beginning, but towards the end I really loved this book.
Ariana Smith
The Nightghosts' Child by S.K. Gabriel
This is a fairly obscure choice which I'm sure a lot of people haven't read, but I really loved it. It's a beautifully written, epic sci-fi dystopian tale about a girl in a domed colony haunted by mysterious ghostly figures and an orphan boy with a secret. I liked that it had a lot of action, a love story which was moving, but didn't overwhelm the book, air-ships, and clockwork cyborgs.
Miranda
Go Ask Alice by Anonymous
I liked this book because a lot of stuff was going on all the time. There was never a boring part in the book. I recommend that people read this book because I think some kids may be able to relate to it, depending on their background. It is a little weird, but overall it's a good book.
Anne Perunko
The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
I just recently finished reading "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" by Stephen Chbosky and I cannot explain how much I love this book. I have told every one of my friends that they must go and read this book because of its wonderful use of literary elements and its beautifully haunting poem that Chbosky includes in the book. When I first started reading the book, I literally could not put it down for the life of me. The plot and the characters all captivated me in ways that no other books have. The main character is extremely relatable to every teenager in every aspect. Weather he is discussing his drug use or his family life, the book is very relatable and assuring for other teenagers facing these dilemmas. A must read!
Nithin Panchakarla
Bruiser by Neal Shusterman
This book is really nice and it's plot is more of a supernatural theme, but it is actually moving. I think that everyone should read it, because it is also very interesting.
Sarah Bond
The Tenth Circle by Jodi Picoult
This book is amazing. It explores the darker issues of dating and suicide. A must read for anyone who likes her books!
Heather Russell
Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers
Entertaining!! I love this book. The setting is Brittany and the women are assassins working for the saint of death. Oh, did I forget there is some romance, action, betrayal, and crossing over into the underworld too!
Samantha Smith
The Magicians' Guild by Trudi Canavan
Absolutely loving this book so far, enjoying the characters and the premise behind the story. A young girl is furious at how her family are treated and joins the rebellion against the social order. Brilliant book, keeps you reading. A must read.
Corrie McGregor
Percy Jackson and the Last Olympian by Rick Riordan
Great book, last in the Percy Jackson series. I loved it so much! What a way to finish the series off!!! Looking forward to reading the spin-off series.
Lori Bednaz
Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs
A very cool read, and it uses vintage photographs for illustrations!
Diane Pollock
Psycho USA: Famous American Killers You Never Heard Of by Harold Schechter
A book about forgotten killers in history.
Jen Schwartz
Feed by M.T. Anderson
This is an eye opening novel that takes place in the future. It constantly changes your perception of the society and the battle between utopia and dystopia. We are currently being taken over by corporations, electronics, and social media, as shown in this novel. This book may become reality for us. It has everything a good book should have. It has a great plot, fantastically developed unique characters and a dash of romance. I could discuss this book for hours on end. This was the third time I've read it. The best part? It was written in 2003. Before twitter. Before google glasses were coming to be. Before the car that you don't have to steer. The things pictured in the novel are turning into our modern society. Cool, huh?
Jen Schwartz
Animal Farm by George Orwell
This book is an allegory, comparing a farm turning all the animals into 'animalists' to Communist Russia. It may sound crazy, but I loved it. I started reading a copy from my local library, but after a few chapters I went to buy it at a bookstore so I could write things down on the sides. There is plenty of good vocabulary, but it is still really easy to understand. If you don't know anything about Communist Russia, I would do a little bit of research before reading this book. Just about every little detail is the same. Without it, it is a book about animals. That's pretty weird. I read about 15 or so things online and prepared myself. I used the internet to help me out, but I really enjoyed the book. It wasn't as textbook-y as people said.
Kristin
Cirque Du Freak by Darren Shan
If you like vampires, monsters, spiders, tales of destiny and adventure, this is the book series for you!
Paige
Fallen by Lauren Kate
This series consists of 4 books. I have loved it from the beginning. It's filled with such dark passion, it makes such a wonderful love story.
Molly Wright
Life as We Knew It by Susan Pfeffer
What happens when the moon goes off course and is too close to Earth? This book follows a few families as they try to find a way to live without what we would consider the basics.
morgan
The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
This book was amazing! A dark, gothic feel with witty characters and a romance that sizzles off the pages! Michelle Hodkins's suspense thriller will keep you guessing until the last page and then begging for more! Michelle Hodkin is an amazing author and her story is a refreshing horror thriller.
Maria Macias
Immortal City by Scott Speer
It was a really nice book. I liked that I actually knew the places the author was talking about. I also liked the twist of how he portrayed the angels in a different way instead of the traditional way other authors do. For example, most authors keep the angels in hiding so humans won't know of their existence, but Speer reveals that the angels have exposed themselves to the world and have been corrupted by power, money, and fame just like humans. Can't wait to see what happens between Maddy and Jackson now that they know more about Maddy's powers.
Sara Abou Alwan
Divergent by Veronica Roth
This dystopian novel is one of my favorite books of 2012! If you loved The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, then you will absolutely love this book. We follow a sixteen year old girl named Beatrice who lives in Chicago where it is split into five factions: Dauntless, Erudite, Abnegation, Candor, and Amity. When she leaves her lovely Abnegation Faction, to go to the Dauntless, everything changes.
ONE CHOICE CAN TRANSFORM YOU.
-Sara Abou Alwan
p.s. I hope I get these books because I LOVE READING.
I love these contests! Thank you.
Brinkley Thurston-Mercer
Libyrinth by Pearl North
A truly engaging story about three young women determined to save their home and the knowledge it contains.
Minal Javed
City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare
Let me just say, this book was EPIC! Waiting for so long for this book to come out, I devoured it in one sitting! I liked the conflicts that were going on between Jace and Clary, and I also liked the whole mystery of what happened to Sebastian in the end. If you like mystery, romance, paranormal or even vampires! Then this book is for you. However it's part of a series so make sure you read the first one, which is City of Bones. :) Happy Reading!!!!
Sherri Hines
The Secrets of Mary Bowser by Lois Leveen
A book about a freed slave who pretends to be a slave again in order to spy for the White House. Interesting insights into slavery. A novel based on a real person.
Pat S
The Beach House by Jane Green
The book kept my interest but it wasn't a GREAT BOOK. However, I did enjoy it. Love books about the water, the beach, and New England.
Zaitoon Azhar
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
The Hunger Games is one of those kind of books that once you pick up you cannot put down until it is finished and you are satisfied. I bought the series because everyone was telling me how amazing they were, but by far my favourite book out of the three was the first book, The Hunger Games. A story about a girl, Katniss Everdeen who takes her sister's place in the yearly event called "The Hunger Games," battles for her life, and wins the game with a fellow contestant of her district, Peeta Mellark a boy she pretends to be in love with. Their romance in the story is so powerful, and the action so intense. I loved the book so much, I couldn't stop reading my favourite parts over and over again.
Samantha D
The Emerald Atlas by John Stephens
I heard great things about this book! I was a bit disappointed at the beginning, I hoped it would be more grown-up but instead it was for younger readers. It was when the three children move to Dr.Pym's that things really picked up and I was hooked! From then on, it wasn't for younger readers, but for any age! I can't wait for the second book to come out!
Samantha D
Blowout #1 (Hello, Gorgeous!) by Taylor Morris
So flipping cute!! I loved the characters and the plot! It was a cute light read, I'm sure if I were younger and in middle school I would be loving this book to no end! That's saying something, because usually I cant stand books for middle schoolers, let alone some YA books lately. Pick it up for boredom!
Samantha D
Dark Souls by Paula Morris
I really love the setting and the way the author described it, but the overall novel went too slow for me. I wish she would have focused more on the ghost aspect. I really enjoyed the ending though!
Samantha D
Firelight by Sophie Jordan
Loved the concept of dragons hiding out as humans in remote areas. Hated the rest! The reason Jacinda and her family left the pride was a good reason, but the author failed at making the characters more real. Like, I understood how her mother and sister wanted normal lives, but literally killing off a part of her daughter, no questions asked, was harsh and unrealistic. Jacinda disappointing me as well, she complained over and over and over again. If she wasn't complaining she was thinking about her crush. Honestly, I kept waiting for Jacinda to run away to a new pride, since she kept talking about doing that; she never did. I felt like her running away would have saved the story a bit. I'm just disappointed.
Samantha D
Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick
I couldn't finish it. :( I got a bit past half way through. The plot just took TOO long to get to the point! It frustrated me a lot. If the author had squeezed the timeline down more, it would have flowed better.
Samantha D
Karma Club by Jessica Brody
The beginning was pretty annoying for me. Maddy just loves the popular kids and can't help but obsess over them. But, through the book she slowly starts to have her own persona. A fourth of the way in, I couldn't put it down!
Samantha D
A la Carte by Tanita S. Davis
The main character frustrated me more than a few times. She was rude and mean, while thinking she was in the right. She did grow out of it but it took her a while.... The descriptions of the food made me hungry! lol. Overall, it was a fun light read. I recommend it if you just want to relax on a lazy day.
Samantha D
My Beating Teenage Heart by C.K. Kelly Martin
I love this book! At first, I was confused because of the descriptions of Ashlyn flying through the stars and falling. I had to read it a couple of times to get a decent visual of it. But the story picked up pretty quickly after that! I thought the author was a genius when it came to the plot! I loved how Ashlyn is the reader of Breckon's story, and the actual reader is slowly getting to know Ashlyn at the same time! That twist just kept me entertained the whole way!
Samantha D
The Poison Diaries by Maryrose Wood, The Duchess of Northumberland
I love this book! I loved how different poisons were portrayed in this book! I'm taking a college class that has actually covered these poisons, so I knew what Belladonnas and Angel's Trumpet really were. If I didn't know that information I'm sure the book would have still been really good. I can't wait to read the next book! :D
Samantha D
Rapture by Lauren Kate
OK, so i finally finally finished Rapture! I LOVED IT! I really am having a hard time with the ending though. :( I'm also having a hard time reviewing it with out giving too much away! Lucinda finally understands why Daniel can't choose between Heaven or Hell, and she finally understands the nature of their curse in its entirety. It was beautiful and sad. Another side of Luce was revealed in the end and I wish I got to know that side of her better.
I found the author's take on heaven and god interesting. I had to reread a few pages of Heaven to really understand what was being described and said. Other than that I enjoyed the book!
Samantha D
Torment by Lauren Kate
To be honest, this book frustrated me in the beginning. As the reader, I knew both sides of the story, so I could see all of the misunderstandings were just that. If the POV was just Luce, then I think I would enjoy it more, but alas it wasn't. It progressed and got better, but it was disappointing that Luce ended up going to a school. I'm tired of reading about that 'school that's perfect and beautiful but has a secret'. So its safe to say I liked the ending better than the beginning. She left that school and few things got cleared up.
Samantha D
Sorceress by Celia Rees
This is as good as the first one! I hate how Mary's first husband dies and she falls for another. Her life after Witch Child is just cruel.
Samantha D
Witch Child by Celia Rees
Epic!! A must read! I don't know why, but I love the Salem Witch Trial setting. I also love the attitude of Mary, and how she views the world. Though she really doesn't do anything with magic, I love her take on the corrupted world of 'settlements'
Samantha D
The Unbearable Book Club for Unsinkable Girls by Julie Schumacher
I'm a little mixed on this book. Half of it I really liked and the other half not so much. I really liked A's way of reading! Its exactly what I do! Just reading about someone else reading was cool! I also loved each characters interpretation of the books they read and their opinions.
I honestly didn't like the characters themselves. A was very impressionable and was a downright brat through most of the book. She was dramatic and made tons of horrible decisions without really thinking about the trouble she would get in. Ceecee was even worse. She was the typical snobby girl who gets what she wants when she wants. Ceecee just seemed like a bomb ready to go off. She didn't care about others; just what would be fun at this moment.
Samantha D
Zero by Tom Leveen
To tell you the truth I was not exactly psyched to read Zero. I personally am not crazy about contemporaries, but I finally decided to give Zero a go. I'm happy I did. :) Even though I do not enjoy contemporaries that much, I ended up really liking Zero. The characters were deep and thoughtful. At first I did not like Zero because of how negative she is to herself, but I found myself rooting for her when she decided to push herself. Like when she decided to talk to Mike for the first time. I was surprised she did that because of how negative she is to herself. But just the same I was impressed because it takes a LOT of guts to just walk up to someone and ask them out. (I know from experience.)
Patricia
The Kingdom of Childhood by Rebecca Coleman
This is a disturbing tale dealing with a really taboo subject. An affair between a teenage student and his teacher bring out the dark secrets that have troubled them both through their lives. Shocking and sad at the same time.
Andrea Hance
City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
A great story! If you like Twilight you should LOVE The Mortal Instruments series!!! Really Great Books!!!
Shyanne Hensley
Masque of the Red Death by Bethany Griffin
If you like Edgar Allen Poe's short story than you will love this one! (But you don't have to read his short story to enjoy this prequel). Bethany Griffin's book starts the story of the Red Death before Poe's story has happened. She details the events leading up to the Masque. It is a thrilling, steampunk mystery.
Courtney Chester
Battle Royale by Koushun Takami
I absolutely loved this book. It was filled with action and adventure at every turn. This is my third time reading it. This book draws you in and makes you never want to put it down.I would recommend this book to anyone who likes The Hunger Games series, or anything Japanese. I mean, after all, it is the original survival game book.
Maria
The Mark of Athena by Rick Riordan
This is a middle grade book, but everyone will be able to enjoy the third installment in Riordan's mythology-based series. I started reading his Percy Jackson series when I was 11 and have loved all of his novels since then. The Mark of Athena did not disappoint. It was my favorite out of the series. Readers of all ages will enjoy Riordan's modern take on Greek/Roman mythology.
Lindsey
Every Other Day by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
A new twist on the monster/hero story line. Kali is a strong main character who knows her job, even when it is her day off.
Ashley
Divergent by Veronica Roth
This dystopian novel was amazing! The action, the characterization, everything about this book intrigued me from start to finish. This book was similar to the Hunger Games only in two ways: the Choosing Ceremony and the Faction way of life. I have to say that Divergent was better than the Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I am currently on the second book, Insurgent.
Sarah Watts
The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
A beautiful book that made me reflect and consider things closer ever since I finished it.
Marina
Bruiser by Neal Shusterman
This book was a GREAT read! I could not put it down and all the hours of lost sleep for reading this book were totally worth it!
Hayley Harrington
Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle-Stop Cafe by Fannie Flagg
There is a great mixture here of humor, drama, mystery, and family values. This book has a little bit of everything and is also easy to read. I have read it three times and it never gets old. The movie is good too, but the book is more than 10 times better!
Patrick Castro
Speechless by Hannah Harrington
Speechless was just completely stunning and real. The book was realistic and hit really close to home. Chelsea, the main character, takes a vow of silence -- to never hurt a person with her words again -- and I was in complete awe of Chelsea and her journey! A MUST read!
Ruth
Lone Wolf by Jodi Picoult
This novel was truly incredible. Jodi Picoult writes well and makes you feel as though you are there with the characters. You go through everything they do and you feel it all. This novel has so much information, not only about Wolf Packs but about family as well, and about how to deal with hard choices.
Hayley
The Earth, My Butt and Other Big Round Things by Carolyn Mackler
I love the sarcastic tone that Virginia, the protagonist, uses to tell her tale. It's such an inspiring and down-to-earth book that I think many teens, including myself, can relate to in many ways, even if you aren't overweight. Its an easy and quick book that all girls should be required to read. However, I only gave it four stars because it is not so good of a book that I would want to pick it up and read it over and over.
Shyanne
Masque of the Red Death by Bethany Griffin
I like Edgar Allen Poe's short story, so when I saw this one I had to read it. It starts before the masque and tells what happened leading up to the party. It is very steampunk, which worked well. If you enjoy Poe you will probably like this book.
Audrey Moxley
Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher
Every teen should read this book. Watch how you treat other people. A seemingly meaningless prank or "harmless" rumor can ruin someone's life... or end it.
courtney gendreau
Hemlock by Kathleen Peacock
It's an awesome book! Really well written, and full of twists and turns.
Zach Hart
Zom-B by Darren Shan
This book is awesome.

Rot & Ruin by Johnathan Maberry
This is a great book for zombie lovers everywhere. Not only does it have flesh eating undead, but it also tells a story of a boy named Benny Imura. His town has survived the zombie apocalypse and has a system that keeps people alive. At a certain age, kids need to get jobs in order to have or earn their food rations. Benny ends up having to work with his brother, who is a zombie hunter, but he is different than the rest. Benny begins to understand what his brother really does, but there are other men who aren't that nice, and rumors of a place where kids get taken to fight the undead. A harsh battle of life and death begins to surface. This is truly a good book to read and get caught up with.
Emily Davis
Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins
I'm almost done with this book and cannot put it down!
Linlee Book Nook
Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry
Fans of PERFECT CHEMISTRY, read this book today! Best book of 2012! I can't say enough wonderful things about this book: romance, friendship, secrets, memories, tough/sweet guy, family issues, school drama, and by a Kentucky author! The cover will fall off of this book from all the reading! Every girl will want to find a Noah Hutchins after this read.
Cheyanne
Nevermore by James Patterson
I love Nevermore. It is a thrilling, adventurous, fantastic ending to the Maximum Ride series. The ending has a twist I wasn't expecting, but it was great. I recommend this book to anyone who loves Maximum Ride, epic adventures, and good books.
Brittney Walker
Divergent by Veronica Roth
How does one properly write a review for their favorite book? They don't. Or at least, I don't. I have so much to say about this book. The characters in this book were amazing, so relatable and well developed, as well as the relationships between them. The plot was fast paced and interesting, it had me hooked from start to finish.
Darith Ly
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
I absolutely adore this book. The protagonists, Hazel Grace and Augustus, are deeply moving in their struggles to survive when they know their time is limited. Through humor and wit, John Green was able to tell a story of life, love, friendship and true happiness that could not have been written by any other authors whose books I have read. While the dialogue is clever and laugh-out-loud-hilarious, it comes off unrealistic because of the age of the protagonists. They sound too perfect and intellectual to be true. However, the novel is superb if one suspends the disbelief in the characters' ingenious thought processes, which made this novel a hit with readers across the spectrum.
Fletcher Rhoden
Stonecraft by Jenni Frendswith
This young adult romance suspense novel beats Twilight for story, characters and prose. Author Jenni Frendswith uses dream sequences and other devices to keep the story moving at a brisk pace. Great action scenes and tense drama throughout. The prose is lean, the descriptions crisp without being overbearing. Great heroine and hero! There are lots of interesting twists, and (no spoilers) the story sets up the next installment just beautifully. The next book promises to be incredible. Reading STONECRAFT is like watching a movie open up right in front of your eyes, and the reader walks away imagining the next movie, even though the book hasn't been written (or released, anyway).

Percy Jackson and the Last Olympian by Rick Riordan

The Shack by William P. Young
This book really had an impact on me and gave me an answer to the big question "How could God let that happen?". When, right at the beginning of the book, the unthinkable happened, I had to hold back my tears because it's exactly how life can hit you. Although in a fictional way and, definitely unbelievable to everyone who did not experience it himself, the following confrontation with God is the best witness I ever came across and it deeply touched my heart. The words are so full of life that you can literally feel the surroundings, the people, the joy - but also the pain. The book guides you through the highs and lows of a heavy life.

Seconds Away by Harlan Coben
If you liked 'Shelter' you will love this! Mickey continues on the quest to find out whether his Dad is alive!
YVONNE POWDERLY
Slam! by Nick Hornby
This novel is about a teenage boy who gets his girlfriend pregnant. You follow the boy as he comes to terms with his new situation. He is being raised by his single mom who is very young herself. You read about how he deals with having a young mom, no dad, and a baby on the way. He uses Tony Hawk (a skateboarder) as his father-figure, and quotes from Tony Hawk's book.
I didn't like, and didn't understand, the use of flash-forwards during the book.

Me, Earl, and the Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews
Me, Earl, and the Dying Girl is a touching story about two high school misfits who find happiness in making films that no one else seems to understand. The strong, "real" language in this book is sure to attract the attention of young men who need an extra push to read.

Viva Jacquelina! Being an Account of the Further Adventures of Jacky Faber, Over the Hills and Far Away by L.A. Meyer
If you love the Bloody Jack series, you won't want to miss the latest installment, Viva Jacquelina! In yet another crazy adventure, Jacky ends up in Spain as a model for the famous artist Francisco de Goya during the French Revolution. If you love Spanish art, you will love the mention of the famous Goya paintings "The Clothed Maja" and "The Third of May". Even if you don't know anything about Spain or art you will love this book. It is full of romance, adventure, and history.

A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray
It took me a long time to get into the book (I'm over half-way done), but once you are in you are HOOKED! I now cannot wait to read the rest of the trilogy. This is definitely more for fans of fantasy and mystery.

Inside of a Dog by Alexandra Horowitz
I didn't know this was a nonfiction book when I bought it, but it is. I'm usually a hardcore romance-fiction fan, but this was a delightful read, and it helped me learn more about dogs. If you're a dog lover, I highly suggest reading this book!

My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick
This is probably one of my favorite books that I read this year. Mrs. Fitzpatrick makes me feel like falling in love is so easy. It can happen at any moment...with the guy next door. At the same time, she also teaches a lesson to be honest, especially with the one we love. To me, this book brings a very specific message: "Honesty will never hurt anyone." I love this book so much. Since I finished this book, I keep telling myself, "True love is never going to die. Honesty will not hurt a relationship, but only bring us closer."
Natalya
Frozen Fire by Tim Bowler
I love, love, LOVE this book! It's a dystopian thriller --- just what I like in a book. It keeps you on your toes wondering what will happen next.

S ANDERSON
Fallen Masters by John Edward
Some parts of this book show promise, but it is ultimately a confusing read. I don't recommend it.

Tiger's Curse by Colleen Houck
When Kelsey Hayes signed up for a temporary job in the circus, she did not expect to be responsible of a white tiger. She definitely did not expect the white tiger to be a man that lived for three hundred years. Kelsey was soon sucked into the magical world of India where curses, goddesses, and magicians aren't something to joke about. The white tiger, Ren, pleaded for Kelsey's help to unlock the curse placed on him and his younger brother three hundred years ago. They set out to break the curse. Only guided by hints given by the goddess Durga, they encounter monsters and enemies beyond anyone's imagination. Will they be able to break the curse? Or will they die in the jungles?

The Racketeer by John Grisham
I just finished reading John Grisham's new book THE RACKETEER. The book begins with the racketeer, a former lawyer in federal prison halfway through his ten year sentence...it doesn't look so good for him but this lawyer with his skillful understanding of the law and a couple of good cards, plays the ultimate game of poker with the authorities and becomes a free man...how he does it and how the story is told, reveals the sheer genius of Grisham.
Myrna Pennisi
The Sandcastle Girls by Chris Bohjalian
I would give this book 5 stars, except that I haven't finished it yet. It's a very well-written depiction of the genocide of the Armenian people by the Turks during WWI.
Emily LeClair
Fallen by Lauren Kate
This was one of the best books I have ever read! It was almost refreshing to get a taste of something other than vampires and werewolves in fantasy... fallen angels are now on the top of my chart! I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a good adventure, and even some romance along the way! Lauren Kate moves at just the right pace with the story to keep the reader hooked. I liked this book so much I read it in one sitting!
Sarah Stauber
