Abraham "Bram" Stoker unveiled his creepy masterpiece DRACULA on May 26th, 1897. The book was first sold as a series of lurid, 6 shilling paperbacks in London. Though there had been many vampire tales before his, Stoker invented the now well known ideas of vampires not having reflections, repelling the undead with garlic and killing vampires by driving stakes through their hearts.
