SHE'S COME UNDONE by Wally Lamb, 4 stars
This book is not for the faint of heart... It is the story of Dolores Price, a woman who
goes through some of the most horrible experiences in life, but manages to make it -
although barely holding on at some points. It is very sad, but at the same time, filled
with hope.

STICK FIGURE: Diary of My Former Self By Lori Gottlieb, 5 stars
This book is the real diary of Lori Gottlieb. She was diagnosed with anorexia in 1978 and
her diary tells why she decided to stop eating and how she overcame anorexia. I think this
is really great book because its a real tale and its helps you undertsand about the
disease. When reading this, its like you are right there with Lori because you know it
happened to a real girl and the story is far from fiction.

CRADLE AND ALL by James Patterson, 5 stars.

WE WERE THE MULVANEY'S by Joyce Carol Oates, 5 stars
Oates is an amazing writer. This one, about a small town rape in 1976, and the aftermath
(shunning by society and eventual crumble of family strength which was once so tight, it
made you wish you could be in their family too) makes you never want to get to the
end-luckily, it's 500 pages, but unfortuantely, a fast read. Incredible incredible
INNNNcredible! You have to read this right now.
BIRD BY BIRD by Anne Lamott
Non-fiction, probably found in the "advice" or "writing" section at
the bookstore. Instructions on writing and life. If you strive to be a writer...if
writing drives you, if it is your passion, if you cannot live without it, read this.
Lamott is hilarious, and to the point. She doesn't waste any time, she tells you what
works, and what doesn't work. It's terrific. If you are in the mood for just good reading,
but don't have the energy to plunge into a plot, read this one, or at least part of it.
A HEARTBREAKING WORK OF STAGGERING GENIUS by Dave Eggers
Catcher in the Rye style, with more edge, more insanity. I can't say enough about it. You
just have to read it. If you enjoyed Catcher in the Rye, you will love this. If you hated
Catcher in the Rye, you will probably still love this. If you haven't read Catcher in the
Rye (JD Salinger) you should read that too. This book invades you.
THE FOUNTAINHEAD by Ayn Rand
Invasion. I could only read this one about 30 minutes at a time, because Rand is THAT
good, she makes you FEEL this. More discoveries on every page, you are constantly changing
the way you feel about the "hero" and the "villian" although they are
so much more than that. You get enraged, you get depressed, you feel elated...all within
about an hour. An emotional roller coaster. It's more than a book, it's an experience.

LOOKING AFTER LILY by Cindy Bonner, 5 stars
I have read so many books and this is the best by far. It's actually a sequel to the book
LILY. It's about an outlaw who has to take care of his jailed brother's pregnant wife,
back in texas in the late 1800's. You'll fall in love with Haywood, the outlaw, for he is
so lovable.

A really good book, I've read lately is: HARRY POTTER by J.K. Rowling.
I give it 5 out of 5 stars. Even though, it seems like a kids book, it's a good book to
read at ANY age. My Mom even read it and she loved it, too. There are 4 books that are out
in the stores now in the Harry Potter series. There will be 7 in all. I think the 5th one
is supposed to come out in a few months. If you're looking for a book filled with magical
and mystery, then the Harry Potter series is for you! This book is filled with excitement,
imagination, humor, and mystery. Read it today! I highly recommend it. :o)

THEIR EYES WERE WATCHING GOD by Zora Neil Hurston, 5 Stars
I liked this book because it had a sense of realty to it. Some people in my class thought
it could be based on a real story. It had lots of funny language in it

details and insightful commentary on his personal life, as well as on the development of
his music. Recommended for those who are fans of the artist, are interested in the
