THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK by Anne Frank, 4 1/2 stars.

During World War II Anne and her family went into hiding from the Nazi's. Living in an attic Anne wrote in her diary what it was like not going outdoors, falling in love, and being away from people. I recommend this book because it is very interesting and actually happened.
Another book NIGHT by Elie Weisle, 5 stars.

Nikkiangel80@aol.com
VIOLET EYES by Nicole Lukien, 4 stars

This was a wonderful book with all elements and I won't summarize it for you because that takes away from the book. I can only say I highly recommend it to anyone who likes romance, suspense, fiction, fantasy and somewhat mystery because it has all of this in it.

Roswell High #1-10  5*s*t*a*r*s
The whole book series is great! It has drama, romance and aliens you will just have to check it out for yourselves. Great for Roswell fans (TV SHOW WAS ON WB NOW ON UPN IN THE FALL) But if you're like me and can't live without Roswell, why not read the books while you are waiting for the fall?

Qtbaby2122@aol.com
ALL BUT MY LIFE by Gerda Weissman Klein
I would definitely give this book 5 stars. Once you start reading it, you
just can't stop. It's a memoir of Gerda Weissman Klein's life. She tells of how she survived the Holocaust, her life in the camps, losing her family, and much more. Everyone should read this book. It makes you open up to the ordeals that so many Jews went through.

CrazyButSane12@aol.com
The Harry Potter Books by J.K. Rowling, 5 stars

The Harry Potter books are magical, funny, awesome, and excellent reads. They give people characters they can identify with. Also, they give kids and teens a place that they can escape from ordinary life where they feel important and where anything can happen! That's important and why I gave them 5 stars. It's not how the books are written or how vivid the details, but how they make you feel.

LVSFTBAL@aol.com
I have recently read THE GIVER, and it is a great book. People are born without seeing color. oops maybe I've already given too much away already. lol well read it its great!
4.5 stars -- it needed to be longer!

Claire121086@aol.com
I am reading the John Grisham books, recently THE TESTAMENT. I love stories about trials, and the lawyerly topics amaze me. Grisham makes each story new and inventive, and intrigues all readers. My favorite book of his is THE FIRM. It's a must read!  As soon as you read it, you'll want to read the rest. Also, kudos to the Harry Potter books. They are so good, and even though they are supposed to be for younger kids, they really make you think, and wonder how JK ever came up with her ideas!!!  5 stars.

Chocolatelabgirl@aol.com
One of the best books I have read is called THE YEARLING. I can't remember the author, though. It is about a fawn and a boy and they bond, but the fawn named Flag starts eating the crops......... and something bad happens. Read the book to find out!!!  It is a VERY long book, and the beginning might be slow, but it is a GREAT book!!!

pillowcase_864@yahoo.com
I just finished WHEN JEFF COMES HOME and I was terrified. The book was so sad. I can't imagine what it must have been like for him. Definitely read it -- 5 stars. I also just finished ANGUS, THONGS AND FULL-FRONTAL SNOGGING and it as absolutely hilarious!! READ IT!! 5 stars

Twinkle590@aol.com
I must let everyone know that a must-read series is FEARLESS, written by Francine Pascal. It's about a girl named Gaia who was born without the fear gene. The books tell about her escapades with life and love. Each book is written so well that you begin to feel as if you really know Gaia Moore. There are already 16 books in this series so start reading now!

THE PRINCESS DIARIES by  Meg Cabot- 5 Stars
I have to admit that I saw the movie first. I loved the movie, but I loved the book ten times better. I really enjoyed the fact that I could relate to Mia. She wasn't  a jock or cheerleader, just someone who tried to blend in. She was a normal teen who had to face problems, though hers may be a tad bit different then most. After I finished I immediately had to rush out and get volume 2. I read it in 2 days. It was just as good as the first, and from the way it ended I most defiantly thinking there may be another installment in The Princess Diaries.

SUMMER HAWK by Deborah Savage, 5 stars
This is a story of  a girl trying to find her place in this crazy world all in a summer. From the beginning I was hooked. this novel has the most vivid writting  I have ever seen in a teen novel. I couldn't believe that this was only a teen novel by the way it was written. The mysterious characters captivate you and don not let you go until the last pages of the book.

paintplustrains@chorus.net
I give The Adventures of Robin Hood five stars, it is really action packed and cool!

AnarchistBura@aol.com
My name is Rae, and I think the best series I ever read were the Redwall series by Brian Jacques. The stories are very easy to get into, and even  though they are filled with many words that may give teenage readers a challenge, these novels are very easy to understand. On a scale from one to ten, I give this author and all of his books an eleven.

AzMeg420@aol.com
I absolutely loved THE FACE AT THE EDGE OF THE WORLD. I can't remember who it was by, I think it was Eve Bunting. It's about this teenage boy whose best friend kills himself and he and is girlfriend have to find out why. During the time they are trying to find out, there is another suicide and it's all linked to a missing girl. It's a very hard book to put down, and when you do finish it, you will wish that you hadn't. I give it a 5.

Also, the book GALLOWS HILL, by Lois Duncan is really well written. It sucks you right in, I read it all in one day, and it's 200+ pages! It's about this girl Sarah who moves to Missouri with her mom her senior year in highschool because her mom falls in love with a guy who lives there. Sarah is talked into doing a fortunetelling booth at a Halloween carnival, and ends up being called a witch because the little, conservative town that she lives in does not approve of it. It gets way out of hand but in the end they find out it all has to do with reincarnation. It's really good, I gave it a 5.

A DENSITY OF SOULS by Christopher Rice, Five stars.
It was a very interesting book about a group of friends who part because one is gay, but things change in the end. This book includes sex, violence, death, and more.

LittleItalingurl@aol.com
The book I have read recently is STARGIRL by Jerry Spinelli. Its about a girl named Stargirl Caraway, a new 10th grader at school who wears pioneer dressers, and kimonos to school, strums a ukulele, and dances when there is no music. The whole school is stunned by her, including 16 year old Leo Borlock. I give it 5 stars !

Nichole81783@aol.com
I have just recently finished PRIDE AND PREJUDICE by Jane Austen. I give this book a captivating 5 stars.  Through out the entirety of this book you are taken in by the characters and the idea of the two main characters starting a relationship together.  This is an excellent love story and also the story of a girl coming into a woman from my perspective. It is one hurdle after another for these two to confess there feelings for one another to them selves and each other.  The characters are so real its unbelievable. You will most certainly get lost in Elizabeth's fiery personality and for all you girls prince charming coming to her aid. I would recommend this reading to any and everyone.

The Sword of Truth Series by Terry Goodkind 5 Stars
These books are wonderful. They have a good plot and never get boring. There is always action. There is about 5 books in the series with one more coming out in a month or so. The sword of Truth Series is the best series I have read in a while and I would recommend them to anyone.

dcpunk@uswest.net
Ok first a book called HARD LOVE by Ellen Wittlinger. It's about a guy who falls for his lesbian friend, it's got great poetry, because it's based around Zines (homemade Magazines.) It's a great story with a wonderful message. 5 stars

DRAWING LESSONS by Tracy Mack. It's a small but great book, the detail is amazing and it's a good story but I won't ruin it! 4 1/2 stars

Then 2 books by Francesca Lia Block -- THE HANGED MAN and WEETZIE BAT. This author has a very vivid imagination and tells great stories of live, love and dealing with whatever happens. I won't tell you either story but just know they are great books. 4 1/2 stars

And A MOTHER'S GIFT by Britney and Lynn spears, the writing is childish but it's a great book with a wonderful ending, even if your not a britney fan you'll enjoy this easy read. 4 stars

Lastly, A WALK TO REMEMBER by Nicholas Sparks. It's a wonderful book, the first chapter takes forever but than the book takes off and you just can't put it down! read it I know ya'll will love this wonderful but sad love story! 5 stars at the very least!

Dncr4Eva26@aol.com

GEORGIA UNDERWATER by Heather Sellers (Rating: *****, that's 5 stars)

Reading this book makes you think about how bad your life really is. Georgia is like any other teenage girl, has embarrassing moments, makes an effort to fit in and all that. Through different stages of her life she is ashamed of her body but others she is obsessed 100% Original and tight. Totally recommended!

FIVE STARS
*****
SIGHTS by Susanna Vance is a powerful story set in the Fifties, about an awesome mother and psychic daughter (Baby Girl) who flee the raging maniac husband/father for another town and better times. Except the better times are pretty tough themselves! The book is very emotional, VERY funny, and you will remember Baby Girl and her misbehaving friend Selda forever. There is something strange and magical about this story; I would call it a true original.
Other stories I recommend are:
HOLES by Louis Sachar
GARP by John Irving
TANGERINE by Edward Bloor
WALK TWO MOONS by Sharon Creech
MISTS OF AVALON by Marion Zimmer
PRACTICAL MAGIC by Alice Hoffman

AbhorsenLirael@aol.com
I'm a teenage girl who has read many of Garth Nix's books and I think his SABRIEL should definitely be made into a movie. In fact, so should his sequels, Lirael: Daughter of the Clayr and Abhorsen. I have read Lirael and found it a more than fullfilling sequel to the first book and in my opinion the greatest fantasy ever written. I am sure that many people share my opinion of his works.

As to the other question, I think there is nothing wrong with the new  trend of making books into movies; it does the author a great honor as well as making more people aware of his/her works. Although movies based on books usually tend to be sadly unsatisfactory in reflecting the actual book, it gives many people a chance to discover the book and read it for themselves. The only thing I would change when making a movie out of a book would be to keep the original plot and details of the book without much change as well as stating more clearly what book the movie is based on and who wrote it, not the small hardly-readable print that most people ignore and that hardly gives any credit to the author. In any case, if J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter was considered good enough for movie material, then a talented author such as Garth Nix definitely deserves that same honor for his Sabriel.

Musidrachic14@aol.com
I'm reading The Fellowship of the Ring, the first book in the timeless trilogy, The Lord of the Rings, by J.R.R. Tolkien. This book is amazing. I'm only halfway through it so far, but the characters --- which are in themselves incredibly and brilliantly developed and unique --- have already been through many captivating adventures.  I think the relationships between the characters are amazing, considering how hard Tolkien seems to work to make the plot work. And the plot does work. So many twists, and mysteries that are left unsolved long enough for you to forget that they exist, and then when you least expect it, the answer pulls itself together and you go, "WHOA!!"  and all of a sudden you can connect everything.  I highly recommend this book and I can't wait to finish it and the next two books myself.

potter-fan@angelfire.com
Just finished reading three books all by the same author, Nicholas Sparks. I first found out about him on your site. Someone had recommended them. I give them five stars, each. They are called MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE, A WALK TO REMEMBER, and THE NOTEBOOK. They are all romance novels and each equally touched my heart. They were so sweet. Not mushy, though. I recommend them to anyone and everyone! 2 of them were New York Times bestsellers and they deserve it!
