Tell Us What You Are Reading...Find Out What Other Teens Are Reading.

This contest period's winner was jcmjbu@yahoo.com, who received a copy of THE LAST CHANCE TEXACO by Brent Hartinger and THE SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING PANTS by Ann Brashares (Cassette Version).

Calypso46@hotmails.com
My number one recommended books would be SLOPPY FIRSTS and SECOND HELPINGS by Megan Mccafferty. SLOPPY FIRSTS is about Jessica Darling, a hyperobservant girl getting through high school and life after her best/only friend Hope moves away. Jessica is highly intelligent, assertive and funny. SLOPPY FIRSTS and its sequel SECOND HELPINGS will hit the mark with any avid reader of teen-angst filled novels.

I recently finished; HAUNTED by Meg Cabot. I'd give this book 4 out of 5 stars. It keeps you interested, but it was a bit too short for my tastes. Another book I recently finished was JUST ELLA. I can't remember who its by, but basically its the story of Cinderella, but told very differently and I think much better. I'd give this book 5 out of 5 stars. Last but definately not least, I just finished; ERAGON, by Christopher Paolini, I absolutely love that book, supposibly the author wrote it when he was only 15 and is now 19, and he is working on ELDEST, the second book. Anyhow, the book is about a boy (Eragon) who finds a dragon egg and raises the dragon, and well, you'll just have to read the book and find out for yourself; I'd give this book 6 out of 5 stars

wmemleidy@msn.com
I just read PILLARS OF THE WORLD by Anne Bishop. It was great!! It's a blend of fantasy and romance, and I couldn't put it down. Every time I was forced to, I would whine and complain till I got to read it again, I loved it so much. Definitely 5 out of 5 stars, at least.

JenRocks11@msn.com
I recommend THE GATHERING by Isobelle Carmody. It's so interesting. And spooky too. It's really creepy. I love this book so far it's my favorite. You should really read this.

dazdnconfusd@comcast.com
I just finished reading THE YEAR OF SECRET ASSIGNMENTS by Jaclyn Moriarty. This book is told mainly in letters (& emails), but some journals and other ways, too. I love the characters, especially Lydia (even though she can be a bit over the top). This book is a great read, and you'll love how everything is linked to each other and how it all falls together as you get deeper into the story. 5 out of 5 stars!

HWDIGGER0618@WMConnect.com
I just got done reading TELLING CHRISTINA GOODBYE. It's by Lurlene NcDaniel. It is so good. If you are between 12 through 15 years old you will love it. I could not put it down.

cottontalecrisis@yahoo.com
I just finished reading GETTING THE GIRL, and it was great! In the begening it may seem a little perverted, but once u get through the book, you realize it has a deeper meaning, about how everyone has a purpose, and maybe your still waiting to find yours. Check it out!

The A-LIST also is super-awesome!! OMG I loved that book! It was seriously addictive! I couldn't put it down without wanting to pick it up and read again! I love reading about the dramatic lives of snobby rich girls- sure I can't relate to their situations, but it's always nice to dream of Prada shoes and Louis Vuitton handbags!;)

Eclipse2434@aol.com
Princess Diaries Series:This series was great! I give it easily 10 out of 5 stars it was so good! If you've seen the movie you may be fooled into thinking it's a series for younger kids. However, it's not! It'll really suck you in. I can't wait for the 5th book to come out! Teenage girls can realy relate, Definitely an enjoyment for kids who like chick books.

elysian132@yahoo.com
I am reading MARY CALLED MAGDALENE. It is a book about Mary of Magdala who was a disciple of Jesus. This book is good and informative even if you don't believe in God or in Jesus.

dazyawhina@hotmail.com
CUT by Patricia McCormick about a girl who self mutilates herself and ends up hospitalized fantastic read 5 stars

polishgirl@comcast.com
Devoured CITY OF EMBER. Anticipating sequel.

Good eat - THE TALE OF DESPEREAUX - Funny, good, whimsical plot. Sometimes the loose writing style got on my nerves, but I forgave author Kate DiCamillo when I remembered that she wrote BECAUSE OF WINN-DIXIE too.

amara515@aol.com
Over the last month I have read Francesca Lia Block's newest WASTELAND and Judy Blumes as long as were together. I think that there were both great books. WASTELAND is a very hard book to follow due to its rapidly chanding narraration but I really liked it. I finshed it within 24 hours. I couldn't put it down. Out of 10 I would rate it a 9 only because I didnt like the ending that much maybe I will reread it again. As long as were together is a easy book to follow. If your into teenage friendship & family drama then this is the book for you. Out of 10 I would rate it at a 10.

steffi@thebullens.fslife.co.uk
I an reading THE CONFESSIONS OF GEORGIA NICOLSON.They are brilliant, the funniest books i've read for a long time. I'd give it 9 out of 10.

tecas_townie_1985@yahoo.com
I just finished SHAKED UP. It was a good finishing to HARD CASH. I love the lifestyle of English people and I think that is part of what I enjoyed about the book. It has a little mature content, so definitely for the older teenagers

luv_angel_4_u@hotmail.com
Highly recommended: CUT by Patricia McCormick Callie, a 15 year old girl, is placed into a residential treatment facility because she cuts on herself. As other teen girls with eating disorders and substance abuse problems open up and talk about their problems and feelings Callie remains silent. Callie slowly starts opening up and begins to learn what is bothering her. What makes her hurt herself. CUT deals with a teen issue that is hardly ever written about in books today. Anyone who loves emotional, real-life issues would love CUT. Out of 10 I would rate cut a 10. Also I highly recommend SPEAK by Laurie Halse Anderson another 10 out of 10.

creativejuices@attbi.com
KINGDOMS AND ELVES OF THE REACHES by Robert Stanek Excellent, 5 stars.A fantasy story about Vilmos. It's a great book!

amuletst@swbell.net
VAMPIRE KISSES by Ellen Schreiber Really good book. I finished it in two nights because I couldn't wait to find out what happened next. It is about a girl who has always dreamed of being a vampire and to encounter one. In the book the "gothic guy" moves in and she is in heaven. It was so exciting to see the chemistry between them. One thing is, is that the ending is so perfect it is sad. I wouldn of never expected it. I cried and I recomend this book to anyone who dreams about the dark and just wants suspense of a gothic girl in a school!

CuTeStLiLbRaT02@cs.com
I just finished reading THE PEARL by John Steinbeck. This is one of the best books I have ever read. Although short and a little old at times, it shows how cruel the world can be. I give 4.5 out of 5 stars.

ycsfan@yahoo.com
My teacher Mrs. Erickson introduced us to Robert Stanek's books 'Magic Lands Journey Beyond The Beyond', 'The Kingdoms and The Elves of The Reaches', and 'The Elf Queen'. We are going to read 'The Kingdoms and The Elves of The Reaches' in class. I look forward to it and a lot of my friends have already read it. It is a series called 'The Keeper Martin's Tales'. It is four books so far called 'The Kingdoms and The Elves of The Reaches', 'The Kingdoms and The Elves of The Reaches II', 'The Kingdoms and The Elves of The Reaches III', 'The Kingdoms and The Elves of The Reaches IV'. I think there is a five book too called 'Service of Dragons'.

I am presently in the middle of STUCK IN NEUTRAL. The first page pulled and I strongly recommened it to all. It tells about a boy with cerebral palsy. He has no way to express himself to the outside world, but in the inside, he is one of the most intelegent boys his age. To add to it, his father wants to end his life. He can not stand to watch his sone go through life in his condition. It will keep you reading. I definitely give it high ratings.

amangel9@hotmail.com
I just finished reading THE RESCUE by Nicholas Sparks. It is a great love/sad book. I would suggest it to any one!

erinisnow@aol.com
Right now I am reading JANE EYRE by Charlotte Bronte. It is such an intriguing novel and the characters are brillantly described.I am almost halfway through it and it is already one of my favorite books. There are so many little details and things to notice that I'm sure will soon be major factors in the plot. I advise everyone to read the classics, as I am on a mission to now. Read Jane Eyre first!

kingsblade@juno.com
Recently, I am reading this book 'The Kingdoms and the Elves of the Reaches 3' by Robert Stanek. It's the continuation of the story about a boy, Vilmos, who is a wizard in a world where magic is evil and a girl, Adrina, who wants to change the world. Now her best friend Emel is helping and she has a new friend Myrial. I really like the book because it is interesting and mysterious, it has a lot of action, it is better than any thing else. I give it 5 out of 5. It's really a good book to read and I really recommend it. I also recommend the others ones but this is the best one.

losermagnetchick@yahoo.com
I just got finished reading I WAS A TEENAGE FAIRY. It was a very good book. I would reccommend it to only teenagers and older because it was a little inappropraite but it was very good. I would rate it a 7 out of 10.

I would like to recommend 2 books the first one being: MARY JANE HARPER CRIED LAST NIGHT I give this book 5 stars. It is alot this little girl who is abused by her mom, I finshed it within 2 days. Its a really touching story. And the second one is FORGED BY FIRE. This one I give 4 stars to, because I haven't finshed reading it yet, just a few more chapters to go, but it falls along the same lines of the other one. But I recommned it to anyone that likes a book that is touching and easy to read in a short period of time.

tiffani_ba@hotmail.com
DAUGHTER OF THE FOREST by Julliet Marillier This novel is the first in the Sevenwaters trilogy and is based on the Swans myth. A young Irish girl must undertake a great trial to save her six older brothers, who have been turned into swans by an evil sorceress. I really enjoyed this book, it was suspenseful and detailed and I liked how the myth was turned into a full novel. Very enjoyable. 4/5

Heartsandstars29@aol.com
SPEAK by Laurie Halse Anderson...It was rated 5 stars!

rockrgrl3@aol.com
I'm reading THE DA VINCI CODE by Dan Brown. It's intriguing and is a definate page turner. Friends have literaly had to rip it out of my hands in order for me to stop reading. Everyone that I know that is also a reader, has either read or began to read this book and is/has thoroughly enjoyed it. 8.5% in my scale.

hobbitgirl11@aol.com
A TREE GROWS IN BROOKLYN - It was fantastic. Some appeal might be thrown off from it because it's from the 1940s but it is just to awesome. It is written by Betty Smith. This book was recommended to me by a from and I wanted to recommended it to everyone else. Read it, you won't be disappointed.

pinkcandy04@sbcglobal.com
HUNGER POINT by Jillian Medoff. She writes the book in such a wonderful way. At times it goes into too much detail and at times it goes into to little. You'll cry, laugh, and fall in love with Frannie Hunter as she discovers who she is. If you like Chick-Lit or want a good read, this is a book I highly recomend.

fionat2000@hotmail.com
SHATTERING GLASS by Gail Giles is an awesome book that deals with the serious aspect of bullying. This was a truly chilling and suspenseful story that kept me turning the pages, not to mention that I was on the edge of my seat!! I read it awhile ago, but this book has made a lasting impression in my memory. Highly recommended - 5/5!

5591@vodafone.ie
