So on a scale of 1 to 10 I'd give it a 5.

I love all of the books by Sarah Dessen, my favorite being "Someone Like You." I also loved both of the Traveling Pants books. I couldn't put either of them down! Others I really liked were Sloppy Firsts and its sequel Second Helpings. Those were other ones I was constantly thinking about and wanted to know what happens next.

amandagsweet16@yahoo.com

I recommend all of the Meg Cabot books. She's an awesome writer and should be totally read by everyone!

aimeepower@hotmail.com
I have just finished reading The Outsiders by the fantastic author S.E Hinton. I first decided to read the book after watching the film and also the sequal Rumblefish. I enjoyed both films and went out to find the book The Outsiders. As soon as I began to read it I was automaticly hooked and read the book within 3 days. I fell in love with the character Ponyboy as he is a bad boy but also has a beautifuly gentle side too. I love the way they are bad and will stand up for themselves and their friends and familys but also love a laugh and will sit down to watch Mickey Mouse whilst drinking a beer and devouring chocolate cake. The book is very deep and full of emotion, I spent the book laughing but also crying at some parts. I loved it and anyone aged between 13-99 would too. I give it FIVE stars!

dancin101389@yahoo.com
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. It's a classic and, yes, very old, but it is one of the best books ever. It's really for girls, guys would probably find it kind of boring. It's about a girl who understands the power of women, plus there's a really good romance thrown in there. I give it 4.8 out of 5.

Hottgur70@yahoo.com
I just finished readina America and it is so awesome. I recommend it to any teen who feels they dont belong!!

SwanLake117@aol.com
A great book to read is Troy by Adele Geras. It combines love, war, hate betrayel, death. Just about everything you can imagine. This is one of the best books of all time. I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

wiccen9854@hotmail.com

I just finished the book 'Flipped' by Wendelin Van Draanen. The story is about Juli Baker and Bryce Loski. Juli Baker, fell in love with Bryce the minute she sets eyes on him. Yet Bryce could want nothing more than to be away from the seemingly clingy Juli Baker. Yet as the two grow up and as the to near eighth grade, the tables are turned, and Juli's love is slowly sliding out the window while Bryce has found a new interest in the girl next door and new found crush, Juli Baker. I would give this book 4 1/2 stars out five.

spin9854@hotmail.com

The book Esperanza Rising is an amazing book. It will really touch you and give you an idea of how it was to live as a slave. Though this story may have a lot of times when I cried, you don't need to worry, because it ends happy. This is such an AMAZING book and I would give it 5/5 stars without a doubt!

I recommend Planet Janet by Dyan Sheldon. Set in London and in diary format, it tells the humorous story of a 16 yr old girl who wants to think Deep and Meaningful Thoughts, to be a serious, Dark artist. It is a light, interesting read than any teen would enjoy. 3/5 stars.

nora-mail@gmx.at

one of the best books I ever read is "WE ALL FALL DOWN" by Robert Cormier. It is about a boy,an alcoholic who brakes with his friends into a house and damages everything. later he falls in love with the girl who lives in the house but of course he can't tell her the truth neither about the breake-in nnor about his drinking. What is he supposed to do? And which strange part does the eleven year old Avenger take in this book? 10 of 10 stars.
Very good as well is Chris Crutcher's "STAYING FAT FOR SARAH BYRNES". The story is about two outsiders who are friends until one day, ane of the two, Sarah, stops speaking. Her best friend tries to find out the truth about her past.10 of 10 as well.

SiLLyOvMe2think@aol.com

A book that i read and completely loved was called "The Lovely Bones." I'm not exactly sure who wrote it now that I think about it, but I do know that the author deserves so much recognition. I absolutely love reading books about problems, teens, families, etc. This book made me cry! It was so crazy because I felt like i was there in the story, with the family, mourning for their daughter's murder. I recommend this book to all readers, all ages.

chicanababy12@playful.com

i recommend reading midnight preator, shattered mirror, demon in my view, in the forest of the night by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes

isabelmiller27@hotmail.com
I am currently reading tess of the d'uberfields
not a usual book that i would read but recently i have found myself enjoying 'old' styles of writing due to having to read them at GCSE level. though i have read Hardy's work before and enjoyed it ammensly. This work captures the essent of lifestyles of the age of people such as my grandparents and in areas such as where i live today years ago. The potrayal of tess is wonderful showing just how vulerable and how we can walk around with our eyes closed to things we just dont want to see.

jclwn@yahoo.com
The book I am reading right is called "Heaven" by V.C Andrews. This book is very unique and freaky. Its about a girl named Heaven who lives with her 2 sisters and 2 brothers in the Willies which is what the town folk call the woods where a lot of hillbilles live. They all live in a run-downed cabin where they have to sleep on the floor and have to wear rags to school. Heaven, who is one of the older children, has to take care of the youngins because her mother left because she was sick of the poverty that she has to live in. Her dad, who is sells moonshine (illigel beer), comes and goes and never really see the kids. So the kids stick together and try to surivive by themselves by hunting for food and stealing livestock from other farmers near by. Then out of nowwhere, the father comes home and starts selling each child for 500 dollars a piece! One by one the children are sold and tooken away from their siblings. Heaven, who is the last one sold, goes live with a young rich co!
uple. The women and the mans names are Kitty and Cal. Kitty is a pyschopathic house wife who thinks she is the greatest and has to have her house clean all the time and Cal is her husband who is very quite and lets Kitty boss him around. When Kitty starts ignoring her husband. Cal starts being very unfatherly like to Heaven and tries to sleep with her all the time, which many times she lets him.

This story is a very sad, scary, and happy story. Thats the reason I loved this story because its gives you all these emotions thrown at you. The best thing is is that their are 3 more books after it. I give this book 5 out of 5 stars!

tigger_791@hotmail.com

I just read Dreamland by Sarah Dessen. It was a really good and touching book. Its about a girl named Caitlin who has it all until her sister moves and she gets a boyfriend named Rogerson. Rogerson introduces Caitlin to a word of drugs and slacking in all areas including her chearleading. He soon begins to beat her and she looks past it and says nothing. Soon Caitlin only exist in a dreamland where she perfers to be, hardly awake. I give this book a 10 out of 10, I reccomend it to all.

yOuVeGoTmAiLdUdE@yahoo.com
I just finished the book "The Giver" by Lois Lowry . This book might seem very wierd to you, but I enjoyed it. It is about a boy, Jonas, and the "community" he lives in. Jonas becomes the Reciever of the community and learns about the sadness of Sameness, and other things. I think the point Lois Lowry was trying to get across was be happy for what we have now, in this world.

foxyladie118@netscape.net

I have recently just read "Kissing Doorknobs" by Terry Spencer Hesser.
Its about an obbsessive-compulsive teenage girl and her trials and tribulations. It opens the heart to some side of peoples issues and problems I never knew existed. I would recommend this book to anyone it would be good for all ages!

monkeebiz@netzero.net
Just finished "Hard Cash" by Kate Cann. I'd read her stuff before, but this was edgy and different and unpredictable!!! It made me run right out and buy the sequel, which was a little more predictable but still cool. Cann is part of the influx of Britfic novels invading the teen shelves. Also, Hard Cash is written from a guy's point of view, which makes a nice change.

Otherwise, been reading lots of manga and my current fave is Hana-Kimi.

deco94@cox.net
I just finished "So Many Books, So Little Time" by Sara Nelson. It's actually not a teen book, but an adult book. However, for anyone who's a real bookworm, like me, you'll love the insight she gives to reading.

cwbowen@animail.net
I thoroughly enjoyed reading a new book for teens by Aimee & David Thurlo, "Spirit Line". It is interesting to read about the Navajo coming-of-age culture. I highly recommended this book to anyone interested in learning about the Navajo coming-of-age custom.

lilshorty00717@yahoo.com

I am reading a book call Pirates right now it is really good. I am not done quite yet but it caught my intrest right away i suggest you try to look into this book if you enjoy a little bit of romance some adventure and a good story line. This book is by Celia Rees.

UnknownSender@UnknownDomain

I reccommend Ella Enchanted. I got it last night and am already on Chapter 12

sa_samnani19@hotmail.com
Even though it isn't meant to be a "young adult" book, I think that Daughter of the Forest, book one of the Sevenwaters Trilogy, by Juliet Marillier is an extrodinary read for teens as well as adults. It is set in Northern Ireland during the Pre-British era, and tells the story of young Sorcha who is the only one who can saveher family from an evil woman. This historical fantasy is a great retelling of the Six Swans, an old fairy tale. I would rate it 9/10 stars since the sotry does have some adult themes.

sweetandsour048@yahoo.com
I would recommend Life in the Fat Lane, by Cherie Bennet as a great book for many teen readers. It tells the story of 17-year-old Lara, who has the "perfect" life- she is homecoming queen, has a great family, and the hottest boyfriend in the world! However, life in Nashville, TN as a beauty queen suddenly changes when Lara gets a disease called Axel-Crowne Syndrome, a disease that makes her gain more than a hundred pounds in ONE year! Suddenly, Lara's life becomes a nightmare. She is no longer in charge of her own body. She can't even lose ONE pound, no matter how she goes about it. And suddenly, Lara's superficial friends desert her in her time of need. Lara comes to realize who her real friends are. Becoming the "fat kid" not only changes her school environment, but also her family environment. Lara begins to see that her family wasn't as perfect as everyone- even her!- thought they were. But even though Lara begins to see that looks don't matter and not everythin!
g's perfect, in her new body, she still wishes for her old life back. Will Lara ever see her old life again, or will she have to adjust to life in a 220lb. body? Great book for teen girls- I give it 4/5 stars.

GBwiz159@aol.com
For anyone who loves reading a good fantasy book, I would definitely recommend Eragon, by Christopher Paolini. The author wrote this book when he was 15-years-old, a teenager himself!

It is a traditional fantasy classic, as anyone can see from its scores of fascinating characters and fast-paced plot and plot twists. Although the story does not have the depth or uniqueness of J.R.R. Tolkien's work, we can see that the story was influenced by this great author, as well as others such as Anne McCaffrey and Terry Brooks. It has all the elements of a great fantasy classic- a fight between good and evil, a traditional quest with a magical sword, and a mentor (as well as a sidekick!) for our somewhat reluctant teenage hero.

The story starts when the young hero, Eragon, discovers a blue stone in the forest, which turns out to be a dragon egg. Eragon bonds with the dragon that emerges from the egg, called Saphira, who becomes his companion as well. When Eragon's uncle is killed, the two unlikely friends embark on a journey to avenge his death. But soon they realize that they are being hunted themselves...

Christopher Paolini has promised two more books to complete his Ingeritance trilogy. Anyone who enjoys not only a good fantasy epic, but also an engaging read, MUST read this masterpiece. I rate it 9/10 stars.

clearend2@gmail.com

"The Kingdoms and the elves of the reaches" by Robert stanek is an awesome book! I finished the 1,2,3,4 book and am waiting for book 5. The best story in the world about a wizard!

sweety2578@hotmail.com

Girls On Film by Zoey Dean-- I Love this book! 5/5

When Lightning Strikes by Meg Cabot -- I would give this a 3/5. Not her greatest work. It's a little bizarre.

bumblebezzie@aol.com
"True Notebooks" by Mark Salzman is a true story about the author's experience teaching a writing class in a juvinal detention center. it's a really good book, and the writing by the students that's included is really good. Some of the students' writing is really strange, but it good. If I read books more then one time i would read it again.

fignewton8@firstva.com

I recommend Go Ask Alice. Its that old book that most people have heard of, and I just read it. It is a very good book that deals with one of the hardest things a teen can go through. Even my mom wanted to read it!

chatchic43@hotmail.com
The City of EMBER is a wonderful journey through a girl and boy trying to find a way out of their everday life.As their city id dieing everyday. Never will you be able to but down this book.

emily_wood@adlc.ca
I recomend any books by Gordon Korman, but especially I Want to go Home, A Semester in the Life of a Garbage Bag and Don't Care High. These are all awesome books! I give them 5 out of 5.

bubbledog@comcast.net
I f I would yoou, I would really read a book called the Giver. This is the best science fiction book I have ever read in my life and it is about a whole different world than ours that will maybe be our world in the future. Read it and never put it down!!!!!!! and also enjoy it!

Old School by Tobias Wolff--3.5 stars. The writing can be a bit laborious and pretentious at times, but it's still engrossing. Very character-driven, so if you're plot-oriented you might not like this one.

2041--4 stars. Short stories about the future. Some are great, some aren't. They are very thought-provoking, particularly one story that deals with the ramifications of society's progression towards PC censorship.

The Door in the Lake--4 stars. For younger readers, therefore the style can be a bit simplistic...but it's a great book for kids.
