White Oleander, by: Janet Fitch
5 Stars
This book is the best book I've ever read. Every time I read it it feels like the first time and with the storyline it's hard to put down. I've recommened this book to so many people and my friends have recommened it to even more. If you like a book with a awsome plot and even more intereseting characters, this book is for you. Don't judge the book by the movie, because the book is infinitly better.

coolgirl0831@yahoo.com
i just finished reading shattered mirror and i would suggest this if you are into harry potter or lord of the rings. It has a really dark feeling about it. so if you like dark books i would suggest you read it.

scorpiobkwrm@mail.com
I'm rereading "The Firm" by John Grisham. It's a thriller from the first page until the end.

I'm also reading The Princeton Review's "Cracking the ACT." Obviously, it's not the most exciting book around, but it is extremely helpful.

erinisnow@aol.com
I am reading Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte. It was on our summer reading list. So far, it is very intriguing. It is very interesting how the families intertwine. You keep wondering,"where did Heathcliff come from?" This book is part mystery, part suspense, part horror, part romance, and part adventure. I encourage everyone to read it! It is essential.

cheerhottie259@comcast.net
Lately I've been reading a lot of Meg Cabot's work. I read the latest Princess Diaries book (Princess in Pink) and I just finished Teen Idol. They were both incredible books. All of the Princess Diaries books are amazing.

lilialrpan@aol.com
I'm reading THE SEANCE by Joan Lowery Nixon, I think is a great book and other
teens have to read it. This book even won an EDGAR AWARD for best young adult mystery.

sportychic225@yahoo.com

hermioneltlwtch@msn.com
all of amelia atwater rhodes books out of a scale of 1 to 10 I would say 15 also some other great books are vivian vande velde's books but teenreads hasnt thought to put her in authors they interveiwed.

mengsha89@hotmail.com
With the summer holidays upon me, I've been taking advantage of my free time to tackle Stephen King's . When I finally finished, I exhaled and thought: wow! what a journey! King's prose is wonderfully descriptive at times, but also terse and chilling at others. The novel is structured around the idea of a deadly virus that kills more than 99% of the US population, leaving groups of survivors who band together, reform society and fight a growing force of evil.

atktemp@juno.com
I am just finished reading Joyce Mayard's "The Usual Rules." Oh my goodness! If you are in the mood for a really good read, but don't mind the book being sad a lot, this is totally the book for you. I reccomend it to anyone and everyone. I hope you like it as much as I did.

shediachockeygirl@yahoo.ca
I love The Song of the Lioness and Protector of the Small Quartlet's by Tamora Pierce. I've fallen in love with the books. It makes you wonder how life really was back in the middle ages. The girls in these books really break stereotypes, which is fantastic. It's always hard for me to set down one of the books. So if you like action, romance along with some fantasy, you'll want to read these!

tropical_kizz@hotmail.com
My best friend recommended "The curious incident of the dog in the night time" I was puzzled by the title, but because of that, i wanated to read on because otherwise i would know that it would bug me! And im gald i did, it is a bout a fifteen-year-old boy who has photgraphic memory, his brain is like a dvd player with no buttons!! I strongly urge every one who likes murder mysteries rolled into real life typeof books, Mark Haddon has managed to write this book well without going over the top with murder crimes and mysteries, he's got the balance just right, i mean, it's not fake and predictable, which is defiantly not what you want in a book!

wallacegurl55@yahoo.com
Angus, Thongs, and Full Frontal Snogging and the whole Confessions of Georgia Nicholson series is a 10!!!

The Sister Hood of the Traveling Pants books are tens.

Th Da Vinci code is totally awesome. No doubt a ten!

Purplefroggy5505@aol.com
Well I am currently reading Crime and Punishment. It is okay, not what I expected... The changing of the names and Russian words are confusing me. I also have to read The house of Spirits. that looks really good.

Moeydoughy_inthesnowy@hotmail.com

mauricebrendarichter@netzero.net
Zel is an awesome book.It gives you a different view of the fairytale Repunzel and it really sucks you in.I give it a 4 and 3/4 out of 5.
Diana Diamonds books are also very good they get you so twisted up, and the ending is always a shocker.

TearsofRed1985@yahoo.com
I'm Reading "The Luckiest Girl in the World" by Steven Levenkron. It is an amazing book. I love it because I know exactly what the this girl is going through. A MUST read.

angel2004_13@hotmail.com

flawless_chic09@yahoo.com
The Christy Miller series by Robin Jones Gunn is the best. It's from a christian point of view and discusses all the things teenage girls go through. From not being able to date until she is 16, to having trouble keeping the guy she loves. If you have not read the books then you should.

shardonnay2002@yahoo.co.uk
I read these three books by Kate Cann: Footloose, Fiesta and Escape they are all so good, my faves! Definately worth reading! :)

godsgur324@msn.com
I'm reading The Lovely Bones, by Alice Sebold. It is charming and haunting, horrific and childlike all at the same time. Definitely a book to read in one-sitting if possible. on a scale of 1 to 10, probably 9, only because it slows down some at the end.

christina_131_sanchez@yahoo.com
Recently, I started reading the Shopaholic series by Sophie Kinsella. I love all three books, and can't wait until the fourth Shopaholic installment arrives. I would reccomend this series to anyone who likes to have fun.

scarlitajones@hotmail.com
I just finished Lauren Myracle's "TTYL," and got a real kick out of it. Yes, it's light reading, but it's pretty hilarious and a great story about real friendship. I also liked it because it made a real comment about the effect of technology on modern culture and language --- the whole book is full of contemporary commercial references and is written in instant messages, yet the characters retain their individual voices very well. I would definitely recommend this book --- I give it a 9/10 for a fun summer read.

bustedrocks_7@hotmail.com
i've just finished readying a book called "Face" it is a great read if you like teen books and suprises you with the lesson being put through in this book, it is about this boy who is a typical londoner in a gang and he goes to a nite club that nitght his life changes forever i give it 10/10

emilyposse4@aol.com

kcsoiney@hotmail.com
Right now I'm reading the Life of Pi. Its an awesome book. A little slow in the beginning, but then it opens a magical and unknown world. I give it a 3 out of 5 thumbs up!

stariebleangel@msn.com
I'm reading a lot of Anne Rice and Dean Koontz books. I like the science fiction type of books and books that make you think or that you just can't put down. SO far my favorites are "The Vampire Armand" by Anne Rice and "From the Corner of His Eye" by Dean Koontz.

sxxcilady@yahoo.com
I just got done reading "what happened to Lani Garver" by Carol Plum UCCI and it was one of the best books I have ever read and I read constantly all the time! anyway the boo is about a girl named Claire who had cancer in the 7th grade and now she's going back to school in the middle of 8th grade and she feels that everyone is talking about her. She hears one of the popular girls say she looked dead last yr and then Macy (the most popular girl) makes her apoligize. These are Claire's new best friends. Then there is a new kid at school- Lani Garver, everyone calls him gay which during the book they never made clear if he was or not, everyone said they couldn't tell if he was a girl or a boy. Claire was forbidden by her friends not to talk or get involved with Lani but she didn't listen and she became friends with him. I could go on forever about this book but please read it just thinking about it made me cry though! it has a very sad ending but it's not to horrible! PLEASE R!
EAD IT YOU WON'T BE DISSAPOINTED!

bittersweetpinks@aol.com
I have been reading books by Carolyn Mackler, Meg Cabot, and Marianne Curly. I would say that after reading just one of their books, I was always looking for more. I read all of the princess dirarys book...and many other books by Meg Cabot, all three of Marianne Curlys books, and I am currently woking on Carolyn Mackler's "Love and other four letter words" I cant get enough of it!!!

Heat61791@aol.com
Angus, thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging by Louise Rennison is a good book.

maureenk490@netscape.net
I just finished reading the Shopaholic series by Sophie Kinsella which is my absolute favorite of all time! Also, Can You Keep A Secret, her latest book. I am excited to read the Au Pairs, which my friend totally adores! I really want to read Good In Bed! On Amazon, they have the first 8 pages and you can read and it is great! These are all really good books!!!!

maureenk490@netscape.net
The entire Shopaholic Series: Confessions of a Shopaholic, Shopaholic Takes Manhattan, and Shopaholic Ties the Knot all deserve a ***** out of ***** !! Can't wait for the fourth one to come out! They're all by Sophie Kinsella!

orange1342@netscape.net
i just read mists of avalon...it is an awsome book and is a classic fantasy. It is about King Arthur;s sister who is a high priestess in the pagan religoln, and is also partly about Gwenevier too.

sugarcookie522@yahoo.com
I think that Crown Duel is a pretty cool bk. I would give it a 5/5.

Madd_as_a_hatter01@yahoo.com
One of the best books I've read this year has been " You Don't Know Me" by David Klass. If you like satirical coming of age stories than you'll love this book. The style of writing is something that I've never seen before and gives it a fresh style. It is packed full of high drama, but yet has a funny twist on it which makes you think. Definately a funny look at an extremely hard life.

Tara833@aol.com
I recommend a book called Timeless Love. It is a very fastinating book! It is based on a girl named Sam who has recieved a necklace from her parents for her sweet sixteenth. She makes a wish while holding onto it and she travels back in time to the 1500's(Medevil Times)! She helps a sickly king regain his health and falls in love. But through all this time she still wonders if she can ever get back home!

beckajl5@comcast.net
I am now reading Kingdoms and the Elves of the Reaches 1. Its about a boy who becomes a wizard, a girl who is a princess, an elf who is very powerful but very innocent. I found it amazing! I cant wait to start the next one.

freetolove4490@yahoo.com
Cut By Patricia McCormick, is a very touching, riviting and mesmerizing novel, that very real and true to life when it came to the character development and severity of the events mentioned in the book.
I would give CUT 10 on a scale of 1 to 10(10 being awsome and 1 being a waste of time).

Lucky111203@aol.com
SLOPPY FIRSTS and SECOND HELPINGS- my absolute favorite- its about a girl and highschool life without her best friend (her friend moved). About a lot more too-if you like realistic books that aren't boring-this is a must. I rate them a perfect 10.

Also, all of the GOSSIP GIRL novels-they're so juicy and addicting. rated 10

every girl should read LIFE IN THE FAT LANE by Cherie Bennet. Its about a popular girl who lives a perfect life until she's diagnosed with a rare disease which causes her to gain weight and live a completely reversed life. Another 10.

SPEAK by Laurie Halse Anderson is a classic.

WHAT MY MOTHER DOESNT KNOW is a quick read written in poem form. Its really good-rated 9.

The Earth, My Butt, and Other Big Round Things by Carolyn Mackler is rated a 9-its really funny and entertaining.

ILOVENY11229@AOL.COM
I AM READING "THE BREAKABLE VOW" BY KATHRYN ANN CLARK.

debba16@rogers.com
'Lucas' by Kevin Brooks. I loved it!! 10/10!! You won't be able to put it down! You will be sitting on the edge of your seat the whole time!!

black_rose_9900@hotmail.com
I would really reccomend the Gossip Girl books. They are FABULOUS! You actually get addicted to them, much like a soap opera, but much better! I would also reccomend a book entitled, Jake, Reinvented. This is a fabulous book for anybody who has read The Great Gatsby (you don't have to like The Great Gatsby to like this book). Jake, Reinvented is a retelling of The Great Gatsby, just in a teenager setting. It's a FABULOUS book! Guys would like this one, too.

swordgirl_amy@yahoo.com
I am reading the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter seires, by Laurell K. Hamilton, I would recomed this book to any teenage girl. The main charater is a big tough girl that loves to make crak jokes all the time, mostly when she is in grave danger and is about be killed just to piss off someone. Anyway they are the best books I have ever read, and I read all the time. So grils go and read these books you wont reaget it, ever. The Male charaters are yummy.

Oh yeah and I am also just got done reading Undead and Unwed by Mary Janice Davidson(and no I don't just read vampire books, but they are my fav genre). I am just going to put what is says on the back of the book, and tell you it is really funny and entertaining full of wicked fun!
It's been a hellva seek for Betsy Talor. Frist, she loses her job. Then to top things off, she's killed in a car accident. But what really bites(besides walking up in the morgue dressed in pink suit and cheap shoes courtesy of her stepmother) is that she can't seem to stay dead. Every night she rises, with a horrible craving for blood. She's not taking too well to a liquid diet.
Worst of all her new friends have the ridiculus idea that Betsy is the prophesied vampire queen. and they want her help in overthrowing the most obnoxious power-hungry vampire in five senturies-badly dressed Bela Lugosi wannabe, natch. Frankly Betsy couldn't care less about vamp politics, but they have a powerful weapon of persuasion: designer shoes. How can any self-respecting girl say no? But a collection of Ferragamos isn't the only temptation for Betsy. It's just a lot safer than the scrumptious Sinclair-a seductive bloodsucker whose sexy gaze seems as dengerous as a stake through the heart...

Yeah well it might not seem like the book is that good, but it really is, and a sequle is comeing out next month.

Book:The Lost Girl From El Monte
By Benita Bishop 2004
at amazon.com
Review by Tammy Dadivas
My mom gave me this book to read after I said how much I liked 'Go Ask Alice'
This book is also a diary of a girl who hangs out with the wrong kind of guys at first and then she decides to try to change her life for the better. Its in the 70's and the girl who writes this diary had been ditching school alot with cholos in El Monte, but then she quits to try harder to do better in school. The cholos give her a hard time and a month later someone who is jealous of her snitches on her about her ditching. She gets in alot of trouble but still wants to make things better. She tries out for cheerleading and ends up being the only one who doesn't get picked for a squad. Her two older sisters tell her shes ugly and make fun of her so then she decides to take up tennis. She gets pretty good at it and joins the Tennis team. Then she meets a guy and goes crazy over him. He likes her but wants his freedom also. They go surfing together all summer and eventually she finds out things about him that make problems for them. I wont say what happens next because things !
get really dramatic and her feelings fly up and down on this rollercoaster ride of a book. There are some really funny things that happen in this book and then there are some sad events that I found myself relating to. All teens experience heartbreak and depression and its interesting to read a true story about how someone else dealt with this experience. I recommend this book for teen girls age 13-19.

fashion_princess01@hotmail.com
Im reading The princess of Pop by Cathy Hopkins. Its an awesome book. I cant put it down!!
I give it 5 stars out of 5 its that good!!!

evanescencegrl20032003@yahoo.com
i reccomend the Anita Blake vampire hunter series by laurell k hamilton. what to know why? well because its continuous non-stop action, and and it deals with the main charcter anita blake, who is a animator (zombie raiser) and she hunts down vampires (with a warrant of course due to the fact vampires are legal and can only be hunted witha warrant.) .her days go through tremendous hell like almost ever five minutes you turn around theres something after her or trying to kill her. it has many thrillers, plenty of inside jokes, and the best vampire hunter in the business. in the science fiction novel series, this has to be the best i have read out of all.

i give it a 5 star rating for the creativity and nonstop action and awesome story lines with the hottest charcters around and you'll never want to put the book down once you start reading!

fionat2000@hotmail.com
I recently just finished a book called "Pool Boy" by Michael Simmons. It's about this rich kid whose father gets caught for insider trading. His father goes to jail, and the family loses everything. They are now poor. This book is about Brett Gerson (the protagonist)'s trials and tribulations of being poor. He is hired as a pool cleaner and develops a very special and meaningful relationship with an old man. This book was unique, wry, and sad. The author is very quirky. I loved reading this book and I recommend it to anyone!

roxy_chyk_12@hotmail.com
I have just read Alice,I Think its a great book about a girl who really only wants to fit into school and be cool. It's a really good book that tells you about self discovery and what it means to be different. If i had to rate this book I would probablly rate it a 4 out of 5 I'd rate it this because it has won an award and I can relate to it being a young teen now i plan on reading Miss Smithers its a book by the same author as Alice, I think. So if your into growing up and experiencing new things pick this book up its a great read so go to your book store or get it on the web you wont want to miss it believe me.

Plankdashboard@msn.com

The book Tithe by Holly black. This is the best Faerie book I have ever read! The charactors are unique nnd you fall in love with them at the start. It refreshing to read teen books that are geared towards intelligance. Also if you have the chance, pick up The Gospal According to Larry. The follow up book A Vote For Larry is just as good as the first. These two books talk about politics, in our generation it's nice to note that teens can be interested in the Nation on a Political leval as well.

mika_91@hotmail.com
i really loved the sisterhood of the travelling pants 5/5. the sequal was pretty good, but i dont think it lived up to the standards of the first. i would rate the second summer 3.5/5

lollipop0522@hotmail.com
I just finished The Unsinkable Molly Malone. It was an 11 on a scale of 1 -10. I reread it after I finished because I couldn't get enough of it. It disappoints me that the book doesn't get as much publicity as say, Gossip Girls. It was a better book than the one the one's that are better known. I definately recommend it!

rainbowgurl1@hotmail.com
I am reading Around the World in 80 Days right now. It's an okay book, but it doesn't live up to it's common reputation. However it's still pretty good. A quiet English man makes a bet with his friends that he can go around the world in 80 days due to an article he read saying that it was theoretically possible to go around the world in 80 days.

weezer_12@hotmail.com
I'm reading The Sister Hood of the Traveing Pants by Ann Brashares and I'm re reading The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton because it is my all time favorite book I read it the first time two years ago and I thought I'd read it again because it's so great and if you like books that are about other teens and how it can be really tough sometimes I'm sure you'd love it. I'm planning on going to the library and picking up some books by Sarah Dessen. Like The Truth About Forever or That Summer. I've heard that they are really great. Also I'd planning on reading What My Mother Doesn't Know by Sonya Sones. If you have read any of the book I've listed you should E-Mail me and tell me about them! Thanks -weezer_12@hotmail.com

slrawlins@carolina.rr.com
i like anything by meg cabot but my favorite book she wrote was hauted i really could relate to the characters

devilangels_goddess@hotmail.com
I'm reading two books. "Martyn Pig" by Kevin Brooks and "A Northern Light" by Jennifer Donnelly.

troubleangel_thao@msn.com
I'm currently reading "A Time for Dancing" by Davida Wills Hurwin. I rate the book a complete 10 from the scale 1-10 *ten being the best*. It is very touching how a pair of best friends can be more than friends. Like family. I cried a lot by reading this book. It's the best.

galaxygirl113@hotmail.com
I'm currently reading the Daughter's of the Moons series by Lynn Ewing. As far as I know there are 11 books in the series and they are really good. I have read up to the thrid one (night shade). The books are about 4 teenage girls who live in LA who find out that they have special powers. Vanessa can become invisible, Catty can travel back in time, Serena can read minds and Jimena has premonitions. Together they have to fight the evil forces of the atrox and the followers.

This series is a really great series. I have loved all of the books that I have read so far.

Read them, I know that you'll love them!

the4farrells@yahoo.com
all about love, war and high school!
I give it 4 stars!

ebony1126@hotmail.com
I would totally recomend Meg Calbots All-American Girl. It's about a ordinary girl with your ordimary problems like having and undesirablely preppy big sis, a little sister who put the Gifted and Talented program to sham, and a C minus in German. When all of a sudden things are turned upside down as this orinary girl does an extoridinarily brave thing.

Spice70687@aol.com
I totally love to read the Daughtes of the moon series by Lynne Ewing. When I start reading one I can never put it down. I recommend that all teens give this series a try.
Another page turning series is the Mates and Dates series by Cathy Hopkins. Its just four Girls trying to make it through there teen years.
And of course the mother of all love stories: Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. I think every girl should at least read this once in their life time. It is my all time favorite book.

elymim@earthlink.net
I just read Sarah Dessen's The Truth About Forever, which was fabuolous. I give it 5 stars

rockerchck18@hotmail.com
I am now reading kingdoms and the elves of the reaches 1,2,3,4. My ultimate fave is 4 but 3 has the best parts ever. I give them 9 of 10, 10 of 10, 10 of 10 and infinity of 10.

drh@att.net
I read Summer Replacement. It was a very funny book about a girl who (as a favor) pretends to be the girlfriend of a guy she really likes, and all the complications about pretending about her feelings--especially when she pretends to like yet another guy to make the first one jealous! Lots of laughs, and real feelings too.
Rated 10 out 10!

kitkat5528@aol.com

kdesay@yahoo.co.uk
Im reading the Arthur triology(Arthur and the seeing stone is the first book) by Kevin Crossley-Holland.

This series follows the story of the young boy Arthur and his as he accounts his life through a series of diary entries.

I love this series so much because it takes a completely different approach to the lengedary tales and is very realistic even though it is set in the middle ages.

A must read for all those who are fans and non-fans of history alike!!

why_me_sda@hotmail.com
Hi I just finished 'Cinderella 2000 Looking Back' by Mavis Jukes. It a modern version of Cinderella. Ashley(Cinderella) is invited to a new years party (1999-2000) but her step-mom wants her twelve year old step-sisters to go too! A must read. It a 9.5 out of 10.

Tahimikpnay@aol.com
Right now, I am currently reading Artemis Fowl: The Eternity Code by Eoin Colfer, which is the third book of the Artmeis Fowl trilogy. I love these books! They are so fun and hilarious! They are good books to read. The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot are great books for girls to read. I give it five stars!! And it's really interesting too.

blondyditzychick@yahoo.com
I'm reading the book Pop Princess by Rachel Cohn, This book is really good. This book is about a girl (Wonder)who after being on a television show when she's little is having a rough time in high school. She is approached one night by a record producer to sing an album and her career skt-rockets from there. A must read!

inncali77@juno.com
I recomend the book Lovely Bones and Speak because it deals with the major problems we sometimes deal with these days.

TheReasonIsMusic@hotmail.com
Freak The Mighty: Small book, but a good one. A small bit tearful at the end but great to see how two oppiste people can come together and learn from one another.
Tamming The Star Runner: Good book about a reckless teen from the city finding a person to love in the country and learning lifes real lessons from his uncle who was once a horse rancher turned lawyer.

something02864@yahoo.com
Go ask Alice and Changing Jareth are the best books I've ever read.

Life Is Funny by E.R. Frank because it is an amazing book. Realistic fiction told from the alternating views of 11 teenagers. It's a great book. I highly reccomend it.

qtladybug9590@yahoo.com

My new obsession is Tithe: A Modern Faerie Tale by Holly Black. I read it after seeing it on this website. I bought it and now it is one of the best books I have ever read. It was so good and I read it all in one day. I hope there is a sequel or another similar book about faeries to come. I loved also I Was a Teenage Fairy by Francesca Lia Block. Does anyone know of any faery type books similar to these I may enjoy? Email me!

I just recently read Noughts & Crosses by Malorie Blackman and it is awesome, awesome, awesome! A ten for me! I'm dying to read the sequels! I have to admit though, seeing how thick the book was before I read it made me kind of lazy, but after I started reading the first bit, I was hooked! And yeah, I started reading it again when I finished....hehe..

The best book I've read this summer by far is This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen. Its hard to put down and about a girl whose view on love is changed(in a good way) by one summer romance. The ending is the BEST! and I'm going to read the Notebook as well as A Walk to Remember. Email me good reads!

One genre of books I could never stand was
fantasy. I hated reading about princesses, dragons, knights, etc. Then I came across the author Gail Carson Levine. She writes fantasy books, but she writes them from a first person point of view. One of her most famous books is Ella Enchanted, but my favorite one is Two Princesses of Bamarre. I've read this book three times as of right now. It's about cowardly Princess Addie whose sister falls ill to an incurable death. Addie must race against the clock and fight many monsters to save her sister. I strongly recommend this book, even if you don't like fantasy.

I LOVE the Kingdom novels that Cynthia Voigt wrote, its about a place where people who are not from the Kingdom sees it a a paradise, but actaully, it is just like other places. Even though all the characters are generations apart, they're related some how. Each book is about an adventure of someone from the kindom and outsiders. I also love The Seventh Daughter its a magical and fantasy book. The main character, a girl, has to go away in order to save her family, being away, she has to finish some "tasks", but along the away, she is taken into another country. Her fathers enemy's country. The book I Am the Cheese by Robert Cormier is such a good book. Its a pyschological book about a boy who go es on a journey to find his father and starts to remember his hurtful past.

Smack by Melvin Burgess.I would rate it a 10 because it is so real life and will make you think twice before ever picking up drugs 'just because'.It shows you what you will get yourself into and how your friends react to you and the drugs. It keeps you turning the pages and you never will want to put it down!
