I would recommend CHILD OF GOD by:LOLITA FILES it's very mature but is really good because it just takes you on such a ride that you just don't want to get off of because it is definitely a page turner that you just can't stop reading it until the end it is about three generations of one family which revolves around the only daughter of grace which is ophelia after her baby dies everyone basically including ophelia goes on a journey to find themselves and it takes from from present to past so you don't end up puzzled it helps you to figure out everything and besides their hidden incestry past that gets a little too specific and uncomfortable at times it just keeps reminding you that noone or family is perfect and don't let what did happen bother you no matter what the situation you can always overcome it but only if you want to so if the ratings go that far then it is 10 but if not 5

I am reading the Au Pairs and it is proving to be worth what I paid for it. I highly recommend that every teen reads Sloppy Firsts and Second Helpings by Megan McCafferty. Both books are extremely funny and describes the life and times of a typical teenager named Jessica Darling. It goes through her trials and tribulations that all teens go through. Both are good reads especially for the summer, keep on reading.

The Healing Time of Hickeys, by Karen Rivers
This book was great. It is a teen journal, and I am just a huge fan of books like that, she is going into your last year of highschool, which I just finished, so i was really able to relate to it... and this book is hillarious, I dont remember a journal entry where I did not laugh histerically out loud... my whole family thought i was NUTS! definately a recomended read!

momowatch@aol.com
Georgia's Back! I'm reading Away Laughing On A Fast Camel -- the newest Louise Rennison book and it's fabbity-fab-fab! Also The Gospel According to Larry by Janet Tashjian -- schools should put this book on their list for English class. It's great and I can't wait to read Vote for Larry. Also just read The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon and his narrative in the voice of autistic Christopher is amazing. It's a shockingly different view of the world. The book proves that Mark Haddon has incredible talent. The worst book I read this summer was Paul Zindel's The Pigman. I had to read it and answer 26 pages of boring questions for a summer reading assignment and I thought this book was depressing, pointless and out-of-date.

Definatly Ted Dekker's Black, Red, and White (when it comes out)! Totally gripping, I can't put them down. The main character is Thomas Hunter and he goes back and forth between two realities, trying to save the world in both! So exciting. Also has a small element of love in it, and, like all of Dekker's books, a hint of humour! FIVE STARS! Also, if you like some suspense, check out Ted Dekker's "Three"...some amazing writing there, and plot twists gallore!

An excellent book about how the world -must- be seen in more than just stark black and white; I highly recommend it. Anyone who has read other books by Amelia will love it, and like wise anyone who loves this book will love others by her.

Romance, adventure, a little bit of magick, and plotting warlock cousins... what more could you ask for? This book is excellent, there's a little bit of everything, and Marianne Curley's style is amazing.

Right now Im reading THE BREAKABLE VOW by Kathryn Ann Clarke. This book is about domestic voilence, teen pregnancies, and teen relationships. Its very very good and easy to relate too, the author is a domestic violence specialist so she knows her stuff. It really makes you more aware of how others treat you and how you treat others.

I have been reading the "Dark Secrets" series by Elizabeth Chandler. There are 4 books so far and a fifth is coming out soon (Legacy of Lies; Don't Tell; No Time To Die; The Deep End Of Fear; and The Back Door of Midnight). They all have a bit of the supernatural in them but a little romance as well. They are great books for anyone to read. Each book has a lot of twists and turns in them so I have some advise to anyone who is reading them: Expect the unexpected. Several of my friends have read them too and say they are great books.

lulu__wang@yahoo.com

Angus, Thongs, and Fully-Frontal Snogging: By Louise Rennison

On a scale of hilarosity(only one of Georgia's many revamped words)from 1-10, I would pick 11!

Laugh your way into the mischievious tales of Georgia Nicholson, a young teenager trying to win the heart of her one and only Sex God in England. If her wacky British vocabulary doesn't get you, her(cough, cough) winning personality and vivacious way of life will. With a mix of: half Scottish wildcat half tabby, a bald coot for a father, a unpotty trained little sister, a school led by Slim and Hawkeye, cool friends, and a Sex God...a fabby(yet another fun word) novel awaits you.

Road to Nowhere: By Christopher Pike

On a scale of 1-10 this suspenseful novel rates 9.

One dark and stormy night... a young women hurries her luggage to her red volvo. She pulls over to the side of the road and picks up two peculiar hitchhikers, Freedom Jack and Poppy Corn. The three together pass the time by telling sad tales: the young woman of her lover's betrayl, Freedom Jack of a promising young man, and Poppy Corn of another young women who made one fatal mistake. Together they travel to their final destination, the road to nowhere.

*Note: Christopher has a way of combining elements of suspense, romance, horror, and the mystery of the afterlife in all his novels creating a most unique and savory plot.

hyperchick_29@hotmail.com

The Night I disappeared is a thrilling tale that's not exactly what it seems. This book was well written and the main character is someone you can relate to. You'll read this book straight to the end to discover the shocking conclusion. (If you enjoy reading about the trials and tribulations of a teen girl's inner being with a secret twist you'll love reading The Night I Disappeared).

This Time Travel Mystery takes place in the life of Molly Teague, or should I say Clementine Horn? Ever since she's been forced to take swimming lessons and the arrival of Jared Bernstein, seventeen-year-old Molly's deathly fear of water has been causing her reoccuring nightmares to become more frequent. After a not-so-accident in a pool at a friend's graduation party, Molly moves up to Maine with her dad and her new step mom for the summer to escape her friends and those terrible dreams. What little Molly knows is that she's walked right into the center of her worst nightmare.

shorteeblingsz@aol.com
I just finished reading 'The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants'. After seeing this book in countless magazines, I decided to give it a try. I was bored by the first few chapters but then I had an unbelievable love for the book. I couldn't put it down! I was so sad when it ended but I can't wait to receive note from the library that they have a crisp copy of the sequel for me! :)

I also have to recommend the book 'Annie's Baby.' I'm not into romance novels at all and it just so happened that this book's first few chapters were all "lovey-dovey" [boring!!] But it soon brought in the complications in Annie's life and her stupid boyfriend.

One more book I truly loved was 'Cut.' It's about a girl who cuts herself and was put into a place with other girls her age with problems such as not eating, self-mutilation, substance abuse, etc. This book is like a view in the cutter's life. I picked it up because I found out a friend of mine had cut. I was curious what was going through her mind. This book gave me an idea of how she thought. Definitely a great book!

Happy reading! ;)

In With The Out Crowd--by Norma Howe
5 out of 5
High-school junior Robin no longer shares the same ideals as her friends and has to make new, less popular friends and gets a really supportive boyfriend. At the same time she is going through this, she also must deal with her grandfather's Alzheimers. It made me cry, but in the end left me with a smile. Everyone should read this book, also Norma Howe's Blue Avenger books (3 so far). Also, anything by Janet Tashjian!

Spice70867@aol.com

Across the Nightingale Floor, by Lean Hearn, is one of the most engrossing new books that I have come across in the past few years. Set in an alternate feudal Japan, it is the story of a boy named Takeo who is adopted by Lord Otori after his entire village is murdered by the vicious Lord Idia. I haven't finished it yet, but there is alerady a second book out and a third on the way. Hearn's writing is captivating, and the pages fly by. Definitely look for this book.

cincukbethy@mindspring.com
Right now I'm working on all my summer reading for 9th grade. I just finished Of Mice and Men, by Steinbeck, and I've started The Red Pony, also by Steinbeck. I love how symbolic his books are. You can find representation in almost every line of his books. I almost want to right a criticism on them. Haha

onding@hotmail.com
I just finished "The Pleasure Of My Company" and "The Likes Of Me".

The first (by Steve Martin) is an adult book about a man with obsessive compulsive disorder and it is so humorous and upbeat and positive.

The second (by Randall Beth Platt) was about a half-Chinese, half-American albino in 1918. Yet another fantastic book. I reccomend both.

I'm currently reading "Murder and Obsession" which is a collection of short stories from various famous authors about obsession (not always murder). It is unlike anything I have ever read and fancinating. Some very new-to-me/adult styles of writing. (I must warn you that there's alot of "adult" content in this one: sex, violence, language, death)

I am reading Ghost Boy by Iain Lawrence. This book is about an albino boy who sets out on a quest to find himslef. He decides to run away with the local circus to see if he can find a braver portion of himslef. Harold, the albino boy, meets a group of people who are "freaks" like him. One is Samuel..a VERY hairy ape-looking man, Tina AKA Princess Minikin...a 3 foot adult, and the Gypsy Magda...an all-knowing gypsy. With this group of friends he finds that he can stand up to anyone, anywhere, and anytime. Harold is no longer the scared, white-as-chalk freak he was back at home. I think this book is a good exapmle of gaining self-esteem. It shows how Harold had his method of ignoring all the stares and laughter towards him by saying to himself that he is a ghost and that noone can see him, therefore, there is no possible way that anyone is laughing and staring at him. I believe that if people just think that are better than they think they are and they think higher of thems!

elves, instead of putting themselves down, they can achieve anything and maybe end up being better at the things they were teased for in the future.

The southern vampire series, AKA the Sookie Stackhouse Series, by Charlaine Harris.

These books are a mixture of romance, and paranormal action. Vampires are finally coming out into the realm of human civilization, due to the japanese invention of synthetic blood the vampires can live amongst the humans with out fear. Sookie is a cocktail waitress in her hometown's bar/grill, who can read peoples thoughts. She saves a vampires life in the first book, and ends up dating him. She therefore gets enlisted to help the vampires solve mysteries by reading the thoughts of other humans.

These books are very funny, and keep you on the edge of your seat. I reccomend them to anyone who wants a good book that will make them, laugh, cry, and laugh some more.
