Being an older teenager I was starting to feel like I needed to read books with characters more my age so I could be able to relate more with the STORY. And this summer I found them. Kate Cann's Greacian Holiday and Spainish Holiday was exactly what I was looking for. These were about 3 girls who were in college (like me) who went on vacation and had the best summer of their lives. I loved these books. And i recommend every girl who like me who wanted more to read these books.

Hey Everyone! I just finished reading Geography Club. It's about a group of unimaginable people who most would consider from different parts of the social world. This group of friends come together for one and only one reason. They are gay. But they must hide who they really are to prevent themselves from being ridiculed and teased. So to hide their friendship and sexuality they create the "geography club" hoping that it will sound son boring that no one else will join. This story is one that makes you feel what these friends are going through. You feel as if you are in the story. I reccomend it To EVERYONE. I would rate it a 10++.

It was proper funny and got like every problem that a teen may have, and ways to solve it- like having 2 boys fancy you and not knowing what to do because one of those boys is ur best mates bf!! It takes every problem to the extreme and exagurates it!And mate problems! Highly recomended 5 star!!
elandriadanashi@yahoo.com
I would like to recommend the On Tour series by Barb Huff. The Perfect Girl and the Backup Singer are the first two books of the series and they totally ROCK! The Perfect Girl deals with the typical preacher's daughter trying to prove herself in a new community. She discovers there is more to friendship than popularity. The Backup Singer is a power-packed book dealing with the insecurities of a bi-racial teen who has to decide how strong her trust is in her friends. Her cousin only makes matters worse by planting seeds of doubt. Both books get a 5 star rating!

The best book I have ever read was Ghost Soldier by Hampton Sides. I would recommend this book to everyone. its a thrilling true story that will keep u on the edge of your seat the whole way through. The book is mostly about a dangerous recue mission. the mission is to rescue 513 POWs from the grasps of the Japenese in a camp in the Phillipines. Most of the POWs are survivours from the Bataan Death March. so, in order to get them out 121 brave US soldiers have to go beyond enemy lines and raid the camp. This book will take you inside the camp with the POWs...and outside with the brave soldiers. I was amazed at the story of these soldiers, and all that they had to sacrafice and go through. But in the end it was all for the best. i wont tell you the ending...you'll have to read it for yourself!

Just finishing off Grecian Holiday by Kate Cann. Quite good, and has wonderful descriptions of greece if u havnt been, has all teen books need. relationships, breakups, fights...etc.
IAMADADDYZGURL@aol.com
fist is The Mates and Dates series. this is the best series ever. the girls in this book are just so witty and have so much fun it's pretty much like what every girl dreams her life was like. 5 stars
Second is Hanging on to Max. I read this book within an hour. You just won't want to put it down. this teenage dad has to decide the hardest thing in his life. should he give up his 1 year old son for adoption?? His dad isn't going to help them out much longer as far as funds go. I give it 5 stars.
Next is the gossip girl series. Full of surprises. It's Fun and witty. These upper class girls who live in New York go through so many things like how to deal with your Boyfriend who sort of cheated on you with your X- best friend. i give this series 5 stars.
Next is The Earth My Butt and Two Other Big Round Things. Very funny. A girl who is struggling with her weight and trying to live by her"Fat girl code of conduct." her best friend just moved away to walla walla washington. shes expeirementing with a boy named froggy who she isn't even sure likes her. And her brother who went off to college just got convicted of rape!! oh what a ride that will be.
Also there is the A-list. an great story almost like gossip girl(becuse it's written by the same person.) this girl who is going to see her father over the summer and finds her dad has tottaly changed. the people here suck and she had to sit next to a drunkin guy on the longest air flight ever. *****5 stars
brandy557@juno.com
I would definatly recommend Summer Hawk, the story of a girl who finds herself through her discovery of and injured red tail hawk. It leads her to helping her parents salvage their failing marriage, figuring out what dreams she wants to follow, and falling in love. Anyone who enjoys a stories of the heart will enjoy this book!
iklekid13@msn.com
Fiesta by Kate Cann is a fantastic book, the classic reason why girls fall out is over a boy, or when another girl "steals" a boy form their mate. the book explains from the view of the girl whom stole the boy how she feels. It is a romantic story that is down to earth and realistic, it isn't afraid to use terms that young teenagers use today. The story let's you learn about the characters and immediatly you know that the characters are all very different, the descriptions are presice however, lets you imagine whats happening for yourself. This is a fantastic book and Kate Cann deserves congratulations!

The Alison Rules by Catherine Clark
4 Stars (****)
Once I started reading Catherine Clark's The Alison Rules, I couldn't even put it down for a second. I can really relate to the main character, Alison Keaney, and the situations she was going through. This isn’t just your average “two friends fall for the same guy” story. There’s such a major twist in the book that it left me shocked and teary-eyed and I just loved it that much more. Even though the book may sound like a Drama/Romance genre, there’s humor throughout the book. When I finished reading The Alison Rules, I just had to share it with all my friends…and I never do that unless I think it’s a great book =D
IAMADADDYZGURL@aol.com
I also recomend 'cut' i read it today all in one day. it's awsome. you won't want to put it down. at first i was cnfused. i couldn't figure out how the auther had written it. then i figured out that in the book you are the shrink and this girl (Callie) is your patient telling you her story about self mutilation. Trying to figure out exactly why she does it. She also has group meetings. people in her group have problems like drug addiction eating dissorders and Amanda has the same problem as callie. The book takes place at Sick Minds.lol i mean sea pines.(you'll get that joke once you read the book!) 10 stars!!!!!
i would also like to recomend the GIRLS series. girls in love girls in tears ect. great books about everyday teen girl struggles. 5 stars. 1 being low 5 beigng high
my last suggestion is the book "friends to die for." this is a great book about two bestfriends and their lives. one is in an abusive realation ship and the other tries to help. i recomend you find two copies of this book and you and your best friend read it toghther. or once you've read it tell her to read it. it's a great friendship book. 6 outof 5 stars!!!
PookyPcs04@aol.com
I'm reading Loves Enduring Promises by Jannet Oak. Her books are so good. I love how they relate to the older days and how they have a christian side to them. They really touched my heart.
mikamani@yahoo.com
The Great Hunt by Robert Jordan is really a great book. I give it 5/5. Definitely.
traceyward@yahoo.com
When people first started talking about Kingdoms and the Elves of the Reaches I didn't have the slightest idea what the big deal was. Then a couple of my friends said it was great, so I borrowed the book from my friend and read it. When I finished I told my friend who lent the book to me that it was the best book I ever read (and I don't read that much). I bought all the books and read all of them. Its so great!!
knilan186@rwu.edu
i recommend that everyone read one flew over the cuckoo's nest. it was a great book. Also the five people you meet in heaven by mitchum albom.
bribitribbit@msn.com
I'm going to recommend Beast by Donna Jo Napoli. I read it about two days ago, and it was WONDERFUL. It's an adaptation of Beauty and the Beast, in the Beast's first person point of view. Instead of turning into the classic monster, he turns into a lion. It's also a masterpiece in the way that the author bridges a few cultural gaps. I give it five stars.
gabriela.gilmour@shaw.ca
I would recomend "The Blood Stone" by Jamila Gavin. This is one of her more recent books and it is wonderful. This book is full of adventure. It is about a young venetian boy named Filippo Veroneo who must go on a journew to Hindustan and Afghanistan, with a man he barely know and has trouble trusting, to rescue his father. He learns to trust no one because aweful things will happen if you trust the wrong person. This is a wonderful book that I would give **** (4 stars) to.
tcklmybeli@optonline.net

I would Highly Highly recomend the book "Alice I think" by Susan Juby. This is my absolute favorite book in the world! It is about a teenage girl who basically has no social life. She has set goals for herself to change her life into a slightly normal one. This book includes humor (i was laughing none stop) and romance plus many other things! Read it if you want a goooooood book!!

Sloppy Firsts by Megan McCafferty, and the sequel, Second Helpings are the best books a teenage girl would be able to relate to. The narrator, Jessica Darling, tells a tale of losing a best friend, and going through the motions of life. The first book follows her through her sophomore and junior years, and describes the common worries, and aggravations of the average girl. While the second books begins with Jessica's summer before her senior year, it shows that sometimes it is really is best to follow your heart, and maybe, love isn't so bad after all. I rate these two books five stars.
skalamb13@yahoo.com
i am reading the a-list and i think it is a faboulous book. It shows the glamorzation of the "a-list"n in california and the downs of it too. It keeps you gripping from chapter to chapter. I would rate this book as a ten.
skalamb13@yahoo.com
i recomend the books rainbow high series. Its a wonderful series filled with the daily horrors and pressures taht a teen non the less gay teen must go thru.It is truly inspirational and a great book. I would give this book 2 thumbs up. But i do not think only 2 thumbs could sum up the greatness of this book.
nijizuishou@hotmail.com
I have recently read Teen Idol and the Crown Duel series. Both were really good. Teen Idol is a page-turning quick read, with a predictable plot. But, it's still 5 stars. Crown Duel is a fantasy novel, similar to that of Tamora Pierce books. I'd give this book 5 stars as well. Also, I recommend both of these books to all teen girls.
ShannynMGellar@aol.com
I am reading the earth my butt and other big round things its an awesome book. Other good books to read are Be more chill, Love and other four letter words, one night, honey baby sweetheart, luna, and Go ask alice. All of which I have read in the past month are VERY GOOD BOOKS!!!!
EASMC@charter.net
I would recommend The Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. There is love, war, and magic; there is everything that makes a book great to read. Goodkind is the kind of writer that makes you never want to put the book down until you are done, and then you have to pick up the next one and read it too. I give these books a *****(five star) rating. A must read.
nickchik@aol.com

talita_053@aol.com
Well right now I am reading a very old, but interesting book called The three muskateers by Alexander Dumas. This book is so old; it was written in the late 1800s! It's pretty good. I also recomend "of mice and men" by jon steinbeck. It is a really sad book. "Animal farm" by jorge orwell is also an awesome book. It taught me a lot about communism in a very entertaining way. I really loved it.
kyle_the_smilez@hotmail.com
'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night time' by Mark Haddon.
I know a little girl with Aspergers so reading this book really help me understand a lot of what goes on in her head. It is very easy to read but can get quite complicated. But that is how this boy thinks and lives. Allthough it doesn't read 1-229 chapters the chapters are done by the prime numbers! It is very interesting to see this boy's reaction to some of life's normal events. I recomend you read this yourself and maybe get an understanding of this disoreder - i teach this young girl in Sunday School and have been reading up on her disorder and her mother recommended i read this book and it helped so much more that reading up on the factual information - i give this book a 5* rating, it is absolutley hilarious some of the things that are said.

-Carribean Cruising (3.5*'s) It's about this girl named Lindsay who goes on a Carribean cruise b/c her mom is getting remarried (to a really rich nice man), and on the cruise she starts to fall for the hunky godson of her new stepfather, who was brought along to watch out for Lindsay. This was okay. It wasn't the best thing I've read this summer, but it kept me entertained while I was reading it.
-Teen Idol (5*'s) I LOVE Meg Cabot's books. This one, like her others, did not disappoint. This is about a girl who is great at solving everyone else's problems but not really her own. She gets along with everyone, but she doesn't really stand out at school. However, one of the most popular young heartthrob actors named Luke, comes to her school to research a part for an upcoming movie (he's in disguise). Due to the fact that her teachers know she can keep secrets, they assign her to be Luke's guide and to keep his secret. It all leads to a humorous and clever ending.
-When My Sister Was Cleopatra Moon (4.5*'s) This book is pretty well written and is about two sisters who are first generation Korean-Americans. The time continually switches throughout the book between the present when something tragic has happened to Cleo, and when they were both teenagers and Marcy started to realize that maybe Cleo was not someone she wanted to be like.
-A Wrinkle In Time (5*'s) I just recently reread these books and remembered why I loved them so much. Before there was Harry Potter or Artemis Fowl, there was Meg Murray, her younger brother Charles Wallace (a genius who many make fun of due to the fact that he doesn't speak to anyone outside of his family, except for Calvin O'Keefe), Calvin and their travels through a tesserect to save not only Meg and Chales Wallace's father, but also the entire universe from the Darkness. This series always managed to keep me entertained as a child, and upon rereading them, still manage to do so.

I LOVE Carolyn Mackler, I've read "My butt, the Earth, and Other Big Round Things". It was so fab!
I've also been reading all of Louise Rennison's books. She is such a great author! I love her!
I really like Cathy Hopkins, I think I've read about 9 books by her( including the "Mates, Dates, and..." series). I can't wait for the rest of her books to come to the US(she lives in the UK,so it takes some time for them to get here).
I've just finished "Grecian Holiday" by (yet another author from the UK) Kate Cann. Fan-tab-u-lous! I can't wait to read her other books.
I'm about to start reading "Maine Squeeze" by Catherine Clark. I've read "Frozen Rodeo" by her and that was scrum. I recommend it(as I do for all of the books I have mentioned) to everyone.
I also read( a few months back) "Jingle Boy" by Kieran Scott. That book was really cool, and I hope you all will read it soon.

Right now I'm reading Frankenstein by Mary Shelly for my 11th grade English class. It's mostly really good, but you know how reading for school is. I like how the author really describes how things are going on inside of the doctor's mind and what he's going through. I give Frankenstein ***1/2 stars.

I recommend Sophie Kinsella's: Can you Keep a Secret to anyone who's up for an incredible read!! Its absolutely HILARIOUS! its one of those reads you wish you didnt start in the middle of the night because you CANT put it down. its impossible. I havent read the Shopoholic series before so i decided to read a book that will finish it self before to see if its good rather than read something thats allright but you want to know what happens next. and after i read it i went straight out and bought the first of the series. This book is not a young adult novel but a lot of teens can enjoy this book even though its not in highschool or deals with those sorts of issues. It's a book you can laugh out loud but not be embarassed your laughing in public because your so consumed in the book you start to foget your surroundings. It thought it was amazing! i really think Emma is a character that will always be with me because of her wit. and this book is not a book you can forget easily.

My all time favorite book is The Named. Not many people have heard of it but it's about two characters: Ethan and Isabel. They are both members of The Named who go back in time to change flukes made by The Order of Choas. In this awesome adventure book, romance, fantasy, and history play HUGE roles so every type of reader will love love love this book! I suggest looking at what other readers thought of the book because this is just a very brief description of one of the best books ever. I know this is cliched but if you LIKE the Harry Potter books, you're sure to LOVE The Named.

I recommend "The Devil Wears Prada" by Lauren Weisberger. It deserves 5 stars. Although it is more of a "chick lit" book, it's about a woman, Andrea Sachs, who is the assistant of the editor for one of New York's biggest magazines. Her boss, Miranda Priestly, is one of the people who can be classified as "the boss from Hell". Andrea is put to the test everyday, as Miranda only drinks coffee at the temperature she prefers...from Starbucks. This book is a definite must-read.

I just finished reading a book called
THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER by Stephen Chbosky. This book looked good [the cover is bright green, the blurb was intriguing] but when I opened it, it blew my mind. Mr. Chbosky brings regular aspects of life, such as music, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and sex, drugs, and love and puts an amazingly uplifting spin on all of it. His characters make you cry when they are in pain and just feel warm all over when they do something that makes them happy. The way the characters interact is just like people-- some authors can never capture that but THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER does it with flying colors! I love this book. I love it with a flaming, fiery passion and to anyone reading this review... BORROW THIS BOOK FROM THE LIBRARY... BUY IT FROM THE BOOK STORE... OR STEAL IT FROM YOUR FRIEND! THIS BOOK WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE!

Breaking Her Fall by Stephen Goodwin is a great book about a middle-aged father who is learning that his daughter is growing up and there is nothing he can do about it. Throughout the book he becomes less and less close to his daughter as he tries to forgive her for what she has done.

I'm currently reading "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest". It's a slightly odd book, very different from the usual. The points of view and plot and nature of the book relfect society in the 1960's. Very interesting so far.

Teen idol by meg cabot. i give it a 4 and 3/4 on a scale of 1 to 5. i love the book. but i think it lacked a great ending. i really like how the main character handled all of her problems and secrets. i'm not sure how the ending could have been better but i just think it was lacking something special but this was one of the best books i've ever read. it made me want to keep on reading. now i want to read all of meg cabots books. she's a great writer who truly understand the life of a teenager.i change my mind i give the book a Five stars(*****) and two thumbs up.
