WORD OF MOUTH

October 2005

Tell Us What You Are Reading...Find Out What Other Teens Are Reading.

This contest period's winner was sidsydney01@hotmail.com, who received a copy of REBEL ANGELS by Libba Bray.

Luckyfive13@hotmail.com
Right now, I'm reading I Know This Much is True by Wally Lamb. I have read this book twice before, but everytime I read it, I get something more out of it. I recommend this book to pretty much anyone; it's impossible for me to set it down for a second. Read it sometime. Wally Lamb has also written another good book called She's Come Undone, which is another amazing book.

agiepooh2001@yahoo.com
I am currently reading This Lullaby and I believe that this book is amazing. The way that the author, Sarah Dessen, used tones in the book to describe the emotions of the main character, Remy, was very nice. I would recommend this book to anyone. 5 stars.

spike_deth@yahoo.com
I am reading Eragon and hoping to get the second book.

thomsonkevin@gmail.com
Shade's Children by Garth Nix deserves a full 5 stars for sure. The book, while aimed at the YA range, is more suited, I think, for an older adult audience; the book is so deep I'm not sure many younger teens would understand the brilliance that is this book.

onepurebaby@hotmail.com
I just read Inkspell by Cornelia Funke! It's the best book I've read by far. Out of 10 I'd rate it a 9! It's a really good book! Also, I read Away Laughing on a Fast Camel, which isn't as good as the other books Louise Rennison wrote. But out of 10 I'd rate it a 6 1/2. But everyone here should DEFINITELY read Inkspell!

mistiizhao@gmail.com
I'm reading Faerie Wars. It's a great book filled with humor and suspense. If you liked Artemis Fowl, you'll like this even more.

haley_blain@yahoo.com
I recommend A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray because the magic in the book is so real and exciting I literally would not put it down. It's not like all the other books I've read, like Harry Potter. It's so beyond fantasy, and it has a little bit of drama and romance, which I love!!! The story introduces characters who you will love and hate, and every move they make is almost like a dream that I never want to wake up to. And so many twists at the end sent me to tears. I don't know how to explain it, but this book has a magic of its own that pretty much took me from reality and let me experience the fun at Spence Academy along with Gemma!

perfect101993@hotmail.com
Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is a great book.

Julie_loves_books_alot@yahoo.com
Right now I am reading Inkspell, the sequel to Inkheart by Cornelia Funke. So far it's just as good as Inkheart. It even has the quotes in it. I give this book 4 1/2 stars.

secret_bear420@msn.com
I am currently reading Shrimp, the sequel to Gingerbread. My all-time favorite book is A Great and Terrible Beauty and I just can't wait to read the second book, Rebel Angels. But I don't have much money and the book is $16, and they don't have it at my library. I'm kind of disappointed, but hopefully that will be the next book that I read. I really like to read a lot.

soda_bear973@hotmail.com
Uglies by Scott Westerfeld is an amazing book! 5 out of 5 stars! It has all the elements of an excellent book: adventure, action, romance, friendship, humour, creativity, and originality!

Karimel10@att.net
Pretty Things by Sara Manning is a great read and keeps you turning the pages. It is very different from Guitar Girl, but in a good way.

lilmissangel11@comcast.net
Rebel Angels looks extremely interesting, the cover is very intriguing.

gsandall@sbcglobal.net
I have finished Confessions of a Not It Girl by Melissa Kantor and it was a great read! 4 out of 5 stars!

gsandall@sbcglobal.net
The funniest book ever is Sleeping Freshmen Never Lie by David Lubar. 5 out of 5, it's that good! The main character is "a hoot" and is funny in dealing with high school, a new baby brother, the girl-next-door-turned-hottie, and other various predicaments.

wyxhi@yahoo.com.cn
I've just finished Inkspell, and it's a really good book. I also recommend The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Eragon and Eldest.

What the heck, there are a lot of books! The list could go on forever.

mybeat13@hotmail.com
Right now I'm reading Trickster's Queen by Tamora Pierce. It is 6 out of 5 stars, an amazing sequel to Trickster's Choice

lindsaysmithj@hotmail.com
I recommend the Sweep series by Cate Tiernan. I could not put them down. They are so so so so good. MORE THAN 5 STARS!!! I also absolutely loved All-American Girl and its sequel, Ready or Not, by Meg Cabot.

aliensrcoming@verizon.net
Girls Dinner Club by Jessie Elliot is a great book! I absolutely love it!

girlnamedfreak@sbcglobal.net
I'm reading Ruby Tuesday by Jennifer Anne Kogler. It's awesome!!

Lhoneybfly@aol.com
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. It gives an excellent thrill throughout the whole book --- but it has a tragic ending. A must-read.

SoDashing1990@comcast.net
Bloody Jack and The Curse of the Blue Tattoo by L.A. Meyer were both very good pirate books. They're about a girl who disguises herself as a ship's boy to get away from the dirty streets of London. By the end of Bloody Jack, she's discovered, and put off in a finishing school in Boston where The Curse of the Blue Tattoo takes place. There's also a third book in the series, Under the Jolly Roger, but I haven't read it yet.

country_angel44@msn.com
I recommend:
The Wish List by Eoin Colfer. 5 stars.
Eldest by Christopher Paolini. 4 stars.
Midnight Predator by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes. 5 stars.
A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray. 5 stars.

These are all great books that are very well-written and you won't want to put them down until you've finished them!

asidogoo@hotmail.com
A Great and Terrible Beauty was amazing!

tennisgirl890@yahoo.com
OMG I love the Clique series and I hope everyone else out there does too!

bobroxmysox@aol.com
If you people don't read the Clique series, you're insane! These books rule!

redhot4u@verizon.net
Clique, A-List, Gossip Girl, and Dating Game books are totally in.

girl_2007_angel@hotmail.com
Dove and Sword: A Novel of Joan of Arc by Nancy Garden
I give this book 3 1/2-4 out of 5 stars. It was very interesting and allowed me to find out more about history. I knew nothing of Joan of Arc before, but now I want to read more about her and the 1400s along with the history before that time.

imac2401@netscape.net
The Odyssey by Homer is really good for a Greek epic. 4 stars.

strawberrywell@yahoo.com
I bought Falcondance by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes last night and finished it this morning. I have to say I like the first two books in the Kiesha'ra series better. Although I didn't think it was one on Amelia's best, it was still amazing. I would suggest reading Hawksong and Snakecharm first before attempting this book or you could potentially get lost.

morenitam@hotmail.com
A Great and Terrible Beauty is seriously a great book. Can't wait to read the sequel!

wavesurfer@bellsouth.net
The Guardian by Nicholas Sparks. 5+ stars!!
The one book that I have ever read that has brought me to tears. This is an amazingly touching book, and Sparks keeps you on your toes with his cunning suspense.

Kaeldra17@comcast.net
I highly recommend The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova. It is an action adventure story that is fast-paced, and yet still packed with historical references.

umi_fire@pigpig.net
I really enjoyed the book The View from Saturday by E.L. Konigsburg. It is a wonderful book about four students in a group called the souls.

boyes1@peoplepc.com
I basically read what comes along:

The Inheritance Trilogy
is one of my favorite series of books so far. Deltora Quest is another one of my favorite series, along with The Abhorsen series and The Wild Magic series. Joan Lowery Nixon's mysteries were also very good, and J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series is another one of my favorites as well.

Overall I would give each of the books in the series mentioned above a 5 out of 5.

Superreader129@yahoo.com
I'm currently reading two books. One is Gone with the Wind. I have been working on it for a few years now. The second one is Gonna Bake Me a Rainbow Poem. It is awesome and has given me great writing advice as I am an aspiring writer.

seekerofknowledge23@comcast.net
Airborn by Kenneth Oppel. I would give it 5 stars out of 5!

snowadrienne@hotmail.com
Read Speak! It's wonderful!

xfallentenshix@yahoo.com
I'm currently reading Go Tell It On the Mountain by James Baldwin and I'm not enjoying the story that much. The book turns me off because the novel talks a lot about religion, and I'm not interested in books that talk about religion. I would give this book a 2 because despite the religious-centered theme, the style is well-written. I wouldn't recommend this book unless the reader is interested in religion or the classics.

volleyballchica@gmail.com
I just finished an incredibly good book by Kate Brian called The Princess and The Pauper. I would recommend this book to every teenage girl with a fantasy of any kind!

nirvana_girl67@yahoo.com
Well, I have just read Rebel Angels, and I loved the first one. Now that she has written the second, I think she should write antoher. It seems that the story is not over.

The Secret of Shabaz. Terrific fantasy with a unicorn.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I didn't like the ending.
The Hobbit. Terrific fantasy.

krazygirl91292@gmail.com
I got A LOT of books but I'll keep it short:
A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray
Rebel Angels by Libba Bray
Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants #1, 2 and 3 by Ann Brashares
The Mediator series by Meg Cabot

k_knies2004@hotmail.com
The Goose Girl by Shannon Hale. 5 stars.
This was a wonderful book!! Shannon Hale created a poetic and enchanting book in The Goose Girl. It is about Princess Anidora (Ani) who is going to be sent away to be married in a country that doesn't get along with hers to obtain peace in the two countries. But, along the way, a mutiny takes place with one of her ladies-in-waiting when she was sick of never being thought of first. So, Ani has to run for her life while trying to figure out a way to get Selia (the lady-in-waiting) off of Ani's crown. To keep an eye on Selia without Selia keeping an eye on her, Ani becomes the royal goose girl, meets a cute boy, Geric, who later plays an important role in the book...and did I mention that she can sort of talk to different animals? There are many more mysteries and problems in the book, but I don't want to give anything else away for fear that you won't read it! You have to read The Goose Girl!!!!!!

laffsalothuny108@netscape.net
I just finished reading The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares. I thought that it was a terrific book! It was full of all of the things I like to read about: friendship and love. If I could, I would read it again and again!

mahaffey@library.ucsb.edu
I am currently reading Dreamland by Sarah Dessen. It's excellent! I couldn't put it down --- sometimes you wanted to cry and sometimes you wanted to laugh. This is a must-read for anyone!

Chasing Vermeer by Blue Balliett. Very interesting! I can't wait to find out "whodunnit!"

I just finished Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. It is by far the best book I have ever read. It kept me on my toes at all times. I only hope that she creates a sequel. I still have so many questions.

eagleraych@aol.com
Right now I am reading the book Fahrenheit 451 in school. Although this book was written in 1950 something, it is very interesting because it's about a future society with firemen who burn books.

dramaqueen00701@yahoo.com
Right now, I am reading a book called Boy2Girl by Terence Blacker. It's about a boy who pretends to be a girl, and is pretty successful. I think it's a pretty good book.

lil_princezz_92@hotmail.com
I love the book A Great and Terrible Beauty. It only took me a day to finish, but I would love to read it again. I love it because it's a book I can enjoy with all my high school friends (I'm only 12). The only thing I didn't like about the book was that it was too small! I also went to school the next morning looking horrible because I didn't want to sleep till I read the book. J.K. Rowling better watch out, Libba Bray is taking charge!!!!!!!

Bittyboobangg@aol.com

katzrok@comcast.net
I read Gingerbread. It's awesome. 5 stars.

the_freaks_muse@yahoo.com
I have just completed a captivating novel entitled Deep by Susanna Vance. The story is excellent for those with a desire for adventure and have a passion for traveling the seas. Deep is told from two alternating girls with very different lives. I recommend this book to anyone who is waiting for something extraordinary to happen to them. 5 stars

katiej@cinci.rr.com
All of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants books are good. I just finished the third one and I thought it couldn't get much better than the first, but it was! 5 stars.

craziiblondie22@aol.com
13 Little Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson

sharlz@efficacy.co.za
I'm reading Pop Princess by Rachel Cohn. I decided to read it after reading a review on this website. I would rate it as a 7 out of 10 because it was good, but not the best. I would definitely recommend it to all teen girls (and boys if they want to read it...)

A fantastic book that explores the concept of life after death and other very deep and philosophical concepts.

Karleyt_17@hotmail.com
I am reading a series called The Glenbrooke Series. Right now I am on the 6th out of 8 books. The 6th one is called Waterfalls.

fakeemail@hotmail.com
I think that Uglies was an awesome book. I hope the next one, Pretties, is too! It's not really that science-fiction-y either. I suggest reading it!

blueprincess_90@yahoo.com
I have read Born Blue by Han Nolan recently and it was one of the best books I have ever read! It was a real page-turner and it kept me guessing the whole time. It is a very inspiring book. 5 stars.

Hannirose56@yahoo.com
I am currently reading The Will of the Empress by Tamora Pierce. I haven't finished with it yet, but it's kept me hooked since the very first page. The plot is twisted with mystery, dwindling friendships, possible romances, danger, and so much more that I find myself fighting to keep my eyes open late into the night and very unwilling to turn out the light.

I'd definitely suggest this book to any fan of fantasy, and especially a fan of Tamora Pierce. I'd give it so far 3 1/2 out of 5 stars!

LizzieBagley@aol.com
Rules of the Road
Best Foot Forward

booboo_265@yahoo.com
I'm reading Where the Red Fern Grows right now for the 12th time. It's awesome.

ShiningStarsjp@hotmail.com
So far I am reading The Bar Code Tattoo! It's very good --- it's about a bar code almost everyone has, because when you turn 17 you have a choice to get one or not, and the main character refuses to get one.

sweetandsexy69_6@yahoo.com
I recommend Millicent's Gift because it shows how a girl with magical powers tries her best to be normal. It's very fantasy/realistic.

guynstuff@yahoo.com
I am reading In the Service of Dragons by Robert Stanek and I think it is the most incredible book ever. It is the next book after The Kingdoms and the Elves of the Reaches.

southerbgeeks@yahoo.com
I have just finished reading a book called Flowers for Algernon. Awesome book!

mtellis@msn.com
I'm reading The Kingdoms and the Elves of the Reaches. It's so great!

daniellemj13@yahoo.com
I just read the book The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. The second installment in the trilogy of the ring now brings the ringbearer and his faithful servant to the edge of Mordor alone, while the rest of the company, caught in a struggle between Rohan and Saruman, receives unexpected help. This book is a must-read for any fan of Middle Earth in that it brings the story one step closer to its stunning conclusion. I give it 4 1/2 out of 5 stars.

xxstarrwalkerxx@yahoo.com
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. I absolutely adore this book!!!!

phsrocks26@yahoo.com
I recommend that everyone read the new Harry Potter book. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is an awesome book full of characters and accidents that make it one of the best books that both children and adults can read.

sidsydney01@hotmail.com
I finished Down the Rabbit Hole by Peter Abrahams. Don't let the title fool you because it was an outstanding book --- one of his first young adult books!

carolynnrennee@hotmail.com
I have just finished Breathing Underwater. This is a psychodynamic view of abusive relationships. It is told from the perspective of Nick Andreas. Caitlin is the girl of his dreams but he feels insecure about their relationship. His father drinks, and he takes out his feelings on Nick. Nick keeps a journal and goes to group therapy. It was a powerful book.

xosharetheluvox@yahoo.com
I'm reading The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. If you have ever read this book, you will know what I am talking about when I exclaim that it is the best book I have or maybe will ever will read. Her words are permanently burned into my mind and my thought of heaven will never be the same. She lays down her past so softly like turning sandpaper into silk.

drwhipcream@aim.com
Girl in a Cage. It's a great book if you enjoy historical fiction. You start caring for the characters on the first page, and their development is wonderful. I'd give it 4 out of 5 stars.

chachabeat716@yahoo.com
Red is for Remembrance

afb92@yahoo.com
A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray would have to be the best book I have ever read. Out of 5 stars I'd give it a 7!

SupernovaGstar@aol.com
The Clique: Invasion of the Boy Snatchers.
I recommend this book. It was really good. I enjoy the Clique series. Overall the book was good and I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

jonmoore13@cox.net
I am reading Son of a Witch by Gregory Maguire. I read Wicked and it's an awesome book. For school literature I just finished The Man Who Wasn't Poe. That was good. It got really confusing at some parts.

tastys_yard@hotmail.com
All the Harry Potter books! They are amazing and are so long that you can read them over and over again, never being able to memorize the entire book! Each time you read them you pick up on something new that may relate to one of the newer books that didn't make sense before! Besides being slightly bloody at times, they are for anyone and everyone! 5 stars.

phililippe1cowfan@yahoo.com
I recommend Rebel Angels. It's so good and awesome!!! If you like history, romance and magic, this book is for you.

daniellemj13@yahoo.com
I would have to recommend The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. That is a must-read for any Middle Earth fan. I just did a book report on it.

luv2read57@hotmail.com
I just read Day One by Matthew Dunn. I found it on Amazon. It's a really cool story about a teenage boy and girl who migrate to Earth and become the first humans to live there. Full of adventure and romance. I liked it because it was about people and not spaceships or aliens. Check it out!

smartie_pants_903@hotmail.com
I have just finished a book called A Ghost's Grave by Peg Kehret. It is an easy read about a boy who goes to live with his great great aunt Ethel in the tiny Carbon City. He thinks his summer will be boring but it is anything but that. I have also finished Digital Fortress by Dan Brown, which was good, but nowhere near as good as The Da Vinci Code.

I have also just started Everything is Illuminated by Jonathan Safran Foer and Deception Point by Dan Brown.

ellenreiss32@hotmail.com
I would totally recommend Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin. It gives a very interesting perspective on death and the afterlife. A very good read! 5 stars!

Kkelb@AOL.com
I am reading the book The Clique by Lisi Harrison. It is such a good book!!! It is about four popular girls. Massie is the team leader who has a laser whitened smile. Then there is Dylan, who is second in command and is always sucking down Atkins diet shakes. The third girl is Alicia. She is just hoping to take Massie's throne one day. The last of the four is Kristen, who is smart but can insult you to tears before you can even say your haircut is not ugly. Then there is Claire. She is not popular, but is staying at Massie's guest house and thinks she's all that, but she's not! Massie will not let her join in her group. But poor little Claire does not understand why.

This is a great book! I hope you all will take my word and read it.

mrskellyteach@yahoo.com
I highly recommend The City of Ember. If you've ever read The Giver by Lois Lowry, then you'll love this book. It explores another world/community that is completely different from the one we live in. It is full of excitement and is a very fast read; I couldn't put it down. The whole time you are reading, you are trying to unravel clues to the "map" that is discovered early on in the story.

pianoISmyFORTE@hotmail.com
I just read an awesome book called Mary, Bloody Mary by Carolyn Meyer, and it rocks! It's a great historical fiction book about Princess Mary Tudor, and how her father, Henry VIII, falls in love with Anne Boelyn, then poisons Mary's mother and enslaves Mary. It's really sad, but it's great!

ccapatterson@aol.com
Watcher by Dean Koontz is a great novel that has really tugged at my heart strings.

mirrorc903@hotmail.com
When Dad Killed Mom by Julius Lester.
It provides you with a look inside the lives of the children during the traumatizing experience "when dad killed mom."

cecilsaidhi2u@gmail.com
I am reading The Named and it is an AWESOME book, very much my type of book. It's about a boy named Ethan who's not just an ordinary boy. He is a guardian of time, and he is a member of the Named.

Now, you are confused, right? What is a guardian of time and...named??!! Well, that's why you MUST read the book! If you like mystery, a bit of horror and bit of romance, you would absolutely LOVE this book, just like I am right now. What are you waiting for? GO TO THE STORE/LIBRARY AND GET THE BOOK!!!

Anonymous
I am reading The Second Summer of the Sisterhood. It's a good book. You should read it!!

biliba1@yahoo.com

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is an excellent book! I give it 4 thumbs up all the way!!!!!

baby_gurl_10_22@yahoo.com
My Perfect Life. I give it 5 stars.

ccapatterson@aol.com
Watcher, written by Dean Koontz, is a near 500-page rollercoaster of emotion.

zybertsukidragon@yahoo.com
I just finished Hanging on to Max. Once I opened the book, I couldn't close it. It puts you in the position of the main character, Sam, a 17-year-old. You follow him throughout the book and see what he is thinking about, as he takes care of Max (a baby he has). Some chapters reveal things from his past, and how he got Max. A chapter from his past also foreshadows what he will do with Max in the future. It's a good read for teenagers such as myself. The plot involves Sam meeting his long-time crush, having old feelings about going to college instead of just working right out of high school, and just missing being able to hang out with his friends instead of having Max around 24/7.

I rate it 4 1/2 out of 5 stars. It's an easy read, not many pages.

One book that I recommend is Uglies by Scott Westerfeld, which is the futuristic sci-fi story of a girl named Tally who lives in a society where everyone undergoes a surgery at the age of sixteen to become beautiful.

In addition, I recommend Eragon by Christopher Paolini. This terrific book is about the exploits of the young boy, Eragon, and his newfound dragon, Saphira. This book is a must-read for anyone looking for a decent fantasy book.

I am reading Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. This book is very good!!! I wanted to read it after I saw the movie on Lifetime. I asked my English teacher to buy it for me, and since then I can't put it down.

This Lullaby was a really cute book, not like any I have ever read. It was funny and it really got me hooked.

nevermind@hotmail.com
I've read lots of great books this month. This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen (all her books are great! Like The Truth About Forever). I read Flavor of the Week by Tucker Shaw. It's a very unique book. I've also read The Giver and Gathering Blue by Lois Lowry. Also, Away Laughing on a Fast Camel by Louise Rennison. The whole Georgia Nicolson series is really hilarious, even if they don't always make sense. The Clique series is also really good. And of course, Rebel Angels, along with A Great and Terrible Beauty are super books. My two all-time favourite series have got to be the Harry Potter series (obviously) and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. The books will always beat the movies!

perfect101993@hotmail.com
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is an excellent book!!! I give it 5 shining stars.

I'm in the middle of the book The Second Summer of the Sisterhood, and so far I give it 4 stars.

I read Ella Enchanted last year and it was phenomenal.

I also read Stormbreaker not too long ago and it was wild. It is an adventure and mystery book that kept me at the edge of my seat the whole time. I give it 4 gold stars.

Right now I'm reading The Halloween Tree by Ray Bradbury and The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova. The Halloween Tree is one of my favourites. I read it every year around Halloween. Bradbury's style of writing is so unique. I absolutely love it. 5 stars. The Historian is really interesting so far. I just started it and already I can't put it down.

jmwelch10@comcast.net
I recently read A Blizzard Year. I didn't think it was a very good book, nothing interesting ever happened. I wouldn't recommend this book. It was very boring. I would give this book 1 star out of 5.

pbjplus3@comcast.net
Right now I am reading a book called Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret. This is the best book I have ever read. It is about girls in the sixth grade who are so obsessed with going through puberty. It actually is funny. I would recommend this book!

Another book I have read in the past is a book called Something Upstairs. It is another great book that is about a slave who dies and doesn't know how he died. It is the kind of book that makes you want to keep on reading.

goodcharlotte91G@aol.com
The Missing series is REALLY good. There are four books, which are numbered so you don't get them mixed up. It's about these two girls who run away when their father dies. I'm on the second one and I can't put them down!!!

eileengarvey@comcast.net
A book that I read recently that I enjoyed was called The Cheat. This was a suspenseful and captivating book about kids who get caught cheating on their geography midterm test. I give it 5 stars!

kmguay@msn.com
If you are a diehard Red Sox fan and loved the team winning the World Series, then you have to read Faithful by Stewart O'Nan and Stephen King.

eileengarvey@comcast.net
Do you like scary books? If you do, then read the stunning book called Something Upstairs by Avi. You'll be too scared to go to sleep!

pearl1981@aol.com

I am reading Lucky T by Kate Brian and Lord of the Flies by William Golding. In school I'm reading Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare.

anom26@aol.com
I finished reading Born Confused by Tanuja Desai Hidier. The book talks about an Indian girl growing up and finding that she is not American or Indian enough for the people around her. But as the book moves along, she discovers not only herself but that she is much bigger than the labels that people try to give her. It's a book with incredible imagery. I can relate to it because it's a story about growing up and finding your calling in the most unexpected of places; and most importantly, realizing that it's there.

gsandall@sbcglobal.net
The Teacher's Funeral by Richard Peck. Another great read from Peck, quite as good as A Long Way From Chicago! Both 5 out of 5 stars.

pompomQT118@aim.com

SoccerflipYMA@aol.com
I would like to recommend the book Six Months to Live by Lurlene McDaniel. It is the first book in the Dawn Rochelle Series. I would recommend it to anyone who likes sad stories and likes to read a book that makes them feel like they are in the story. I would give this book 5 stars.

A book that I thought was great is The Outcast of Redwall by Brian Jacques. I liked it because it had many action-packed battles and many of the characters were brave and bold.

Cinbruce@aol.com
I am currently reading, Best Friends For Never (a Clique series) by Lisi Harrison. I also just finished reading The Clique, which belongs in the same series also. I was never really interested in reading until I decided to read these two books that I enjoyed. They were fast-paced books that kept you wanting to know more. I'd really recommend the Clique series and it's definitely worth reading! 5 stars.

ruthie.sports@verizon.net

I have just finished reading Loch. It is a great action book that is about the legend of Loch Ness. Loch is a great book filled with action.

I just read the book Eragon by Christopher Paolini. It is one of the best books I've ever read! It tells the story of a boy and his dragon and their struggle to destroy the empire ruled by the evil king Galbatorix. Along the journey, they meet many friends and foes and face many challenges. To find out the rest, I guess you'll just have to read it! 2 thumbs up!

toads464@aol.com
Over the summer I read Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J.K. Rowling. So far, I think it's the best book in the series. This year, Voldemort is stronger than ever, and he has a lot of people after him. Of course I wouldn't want to give away the best, but also the worst part, so if you're an HP fan I suggest you pick up a copy soon. 5 stars!!

lyn383@comcast.net
Best Friends for Never was a really good book. I would suggest this book for girls between grades 5-8 because most of the themes of this book has to do with problems girls are dealing with in these grades.

lyn383@comcast.net
T*witches is really good, though it isn't anything like the movie on Disney Channel. My suggestion, if you want to know what happens in the book, is to read the book. I would also suggest that if you like fantasies about witches, this is a really good book for you.

JLR82004@comcast.net
I'm reading Remnants by K.A. Applegate. I liked this book because it is a sci-fi book and that genre is one of the two that I like. This book in particular is well-written because the author describes how people and the American Government would react to a large asteroid that could destroy the Earth. People who either work or whom the government owes a favor are able to escape.

dgoulet@comcast.net
I read Kevin Corbett Eats Flies. It is a very fun book to read and enjoy.

I'm reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. I thought this book was very adventurous and about the answers to magic.

I just finished reading a book called Denial. It's about a girl who moves to live with her alcoholic Dad who teaches in a high school that she's attending. Then her Dad gets reported for sexual abuse, and the girl tries to get to the bottom of it.

This is a really good book. 5 stars

The Call of the Wild was a great book. I liked how it was told by Buck, the main character. If you like adventurous books this is a great one to pick.
