But just as they are ready to take the next step in their relationship, Damen suddenly begins feeling sick and then cruelly steps out of their relationship, turning his back on Ever. And he’s not the only one; Ever’s friends, Haven and Miles, snub her as well. In fact, the entire school is acting weird, and it all starts when the new fellow, Roman, arrives. Roman seems charming and everyone flocks to his side, but Ever doesn’t trust him. Is it possible he is responsible for the strange behavior?

Ever then learns of a chance to go back in time, to before her family’s death. She misses them so much, but she can’t leave Damen. Then again, since Damen doesn’t seem to want anything to do with her anymore, maybe she should go back… 

Alyson Noël has many talents to share as a writer, and she proves it again and again with her amazing Immortals series. She writes with an intensity and a passion, her words weaving perfectly together to create an overwhelming experience for the senses and the heart. The excitement factor is nonstop --- exploring the Immortal’s special powers, keeping secrets and thwarting evil. She answers a few questions raised in the first book, EVERMORE, about Ever and Damen’s past, and even adds a spark of humor with some of the side characters. One of the big attractions to the series is the growing relationship between the two protagonists, offering romance and heart-thumping chills.

Noël sets up the third book, scheduled for release in February 2010, with plenty of cliffhanging excitement.
