Fire with Fire

What would you do when you’re the reason your crush ended up at the hospital on homecoming night? In FIRE WITH FIRE by Jenny Han and Siobhan Vivian the second book in the Burn for Burn trilogy, this is what the protagonist has to deal with.

Lillia, Kat and Mary are three different people but have one thing in common, the goal to take down the people who wronged them. They worked together secretly and came up with a perfect plan (well, almost) to destroy Reeve and Rennie at the Homecoming Dance, but things didn’t go the way they wanted. Not even close. Now, Reeve is in the hospital with an injury while Rennie is meaner than ever before. Then, there are Lillia, Kat and Mary, of course. They are wishing for the best, that no one will ever find out they’re behind this whole disaster. They just want to forget everything, pretend like none of this ever happened and move on.

"Han and Vivian are what you call a dynamic duo. Switching the narrator between Lillia, Kat and Mary, FIRE WITH FIRE is the book that will keep the readers up all night."

However, things aren’t that easy. Sweet little Mary knows there’s something seriously wrong with her. If she can’t control her anger, someone’s going to get hurt, real bad. Since Reeve and Rennie are still the same, if not worse, the girls want their revenge. This time, it’s one slow and steady plan that hopefully will kill two birds with one stone. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth and a broken heart for a broken heart. Their plan is to make Reeve fall in love with Lillia, and then she will dump him unexpectedly. This is the only way he will learn his lesson. But things don’t always goes the way you want, do they?

Han and Vivian are what you call a dynamic duo. Switching the narrator between Lillia, Kat and Mary, FIRE WITH FIRE is the book that will keep the readers up all night. There are parts that will make readers want to cry, while other parts will allow them to laugh out loud. Just like the first book, BURN FOR BURN, Han and Vivian made it impossible for readers to predict what would happen next in FIRE WITH FIRE, and of course, they added the who-would-have-thought-of ending. With a very unexpected, shocking twist, readers will realize that no one knows what the future holds, both in the book as well as in real life.

FIRE WITH FIRE is a true page-turner. This book is not just about revenge but also about finding who your true friends are, and more importantly, it’s about finding yourself. Just like the readers, Lillian, Kat and Mary are all shocked, so how are they going to move on from here? Han and Vivian continue to keep the readers waiting to find out what is in store in the sequel, ASHES TO ASHES. But for right now, FIRE WITH FIRE is the must-read for everyone.
