Goddess of the Night
GODDESS OF THE NIGHT, the first book in the Daughters of the Moon series by Lynne Ewing, is a chilling fantasy, full of mystery, danger, and action. Yet the characters could be you or any one of your friends.
Vanessa knows that she is different and she'd give anything to be normal --- but she can't stop herself from disappearing. Her best friend Catty is different too. However, Catty enjoys being different and traveling through time. When they meet two other girls who have unique abilities as well --- Serena can read minds and Jimena has premonitions --- they discover that they all wear the silver moon amulet.
Vanessa, Catty, Serena, and Jimena try to fit into the Los Angeles scene as normal teenagers. However, their unusual abilities make it impossible. What is the strange power the moon has over them? Why does the dark of the moon change everything?
When Catty disappears, Vanessa must find her friend before she is lost forever . Will she be in time? And Stanton, who calls Vanessa "Goddess" and supposedly is their friend, is he part of the plot to destroy the girls?
