Golden Girl

Callie LeRoux is a 14-year-old girl whose only desire is to live a normal life while trying to put the depths of the Dust Bowl behind her. She has even moved to California during the golden age of Hollywood and has already started working at a major motion-picture studio. It is during this time that she meets powerful stars and new friends who are willing to help her as she transfers into her new life.

"GOLDEN GIRL allows you to engage in Callie LeRoux's story and follow her on her everlasting journey to find and free her missing parents."

There is only one problem. Callie is half-blood, meaning she is half human and half fairy. In fact, Callie's father was the fairy prince until he disappeared, making her the heir to the fairy throne. She also has magical powers that continue to grow stronger everyday, making her a huge threat to another enemy fairy faction. Years ago, when Callie lived in Kansas at the time of the Dust Bowl, both of her parents were taken away from her by the enemy faction and imprisoned in an unknown location. To make matters worse, Callie was only given a riddle to figure out the location of her missing parents and a prophecy the meaning of which has been hidden to her for as long as she can remember. Now that she is in California, she will need help from her best friend, Jack, and guidance from the great singer, Paul Robeson, to rescue her missing parents from many untold dangers.

GOLDEN GIRL takes you on a thrilling adventure as Callie LeRoux searches for her missing parents and struggles to find her place among very different worlds. Author Sarah Zettel effectively develops Callie's character at the beginning of the story, allowing the reader to observe her emotional, mental and physical changes throughout the book. She also includes all of Callie's thoughts about other characters, leaving readers guessing about their true identities, personalities and motives. All of these elements combine to create an interesting story with many cliffhangers that will leave readers of all ages guessing about Callie's future until the very end.

GOLDEN GIRL allows you to engage in Callie LeRoux's story and follow her on her everlasting journey to find and free her missing parents. It shows you that Callie must have courage, trust and maybe even a little magic to fulfill her dreams and desires. Throughout its pages, the reader will encounter many twists and surprises that work to create a more interesting and unexpected adventure for Callie, her friends and family.
