How (Not) to Find a Boyfriend

The transformation from larva to Monarch butterfly is definitely an interesting one. In the novel, HOW (NOT) TO FIND A BOYFRIEND by Allyson Valentine, that exact transformation is described with the life of Nora Fulbright. Be prepared to stay up all night reading this novel.

"This book had me laughing out loud regularly, regardless of the place or time of day. This book is sure to be one of my favorites for a long time."

Nora Fulbright is the daughter of some insanely smart people. Even after her father left, Nora’s mom remarried a man who's just as smart. Because Nora’s entire family is made up of geniuses, Nora was resented by her peers in middle school. So, for her sophomore year of high school, Nora is determined to make things different. She joins the cheerleading squad and tries in earnest to put her knowledgeable days behind her. Unfortunately, it seems she will need her smarts in order to catch the guy of her dreams.

I found this book to be completely marvelous. I often found myself identifying with Nora’s plights throughout the novel. Although I was completely frustrated with the main character throughout most of the book, that didn't stop me from fully enjoying this story. This book had me laughing out loud regularly, regardless of the place or time of day. This book is sure to be one of my favorites for a long time.
