Of Beast and Beauty

Isra is the blind princess of one of the last three domed cities. Isra, a Smooth Skin, is raised to be a human sacrifice to keep her city alive, well and without any problems. Outside of the dome is just desert, and in that desert live the Monstrous. One of the Monstrous --- Gem, a beast --- is trying to save the lives of his people, who are starving, by stealing one of the powerful roses that live in their garden, until he is caught and arrested.

"Author Stacey Jay creates a rich, colorful world which will blow readers away...OF BEAST AND BEAUTY has to be one of the best fairy tale retellings that 2013 has seen so far."

Isra forms a bond with the beast Gem and wants to help the Banished, people who are starting to show signs of mutation. They live in the city, and Isra gets the help of Gem to help uncover the secret on how to stop further mutation. The only problem is that the blind princess is starting to care for the beast, and now, since her father died, she is now Queen.

Isra will have to choose between her duty over the people she rules and the beast who is telling her that everything she has ever known is a lie. OF BEAST AND BEAUTY is a beautiful retelling of the Beauty and the Beast.

Author Stacey Jay creates a rich, colorful world which will blow readers away. It will leave them begging for more about Isra and Gem's story and wondering what will happen next in their beautiful love story. Told in the alternating point of views of Gem and Isra during the four seasons, readers won’t want to let go even after they turn the last page. OF BEAST AND BEAUTY has to be one of the best fairy tale retellings that 2013 has seen so far.
