Biography

Kathryn Ann Clarke

Kathryn Clarke graduated from Saint Xavier University with a BA in Criminal Justice/Counseling and has worked in the domestic violence field for over twenty years. Her work began at South Suburban Family Shelter in Illinois, where she coordinated the legal program for domestic violence victims. She became a Certified Law Enforcement Instructor, specializing in law enforcement liability issues. Quickly becoming a national presenter, Clarke trained thousands of police officers, judges, state's attorneys and counselors.

A former victim of domestic violence, Clarke is determined to provide effective prevention for youth. Her novel, THE BREAKABLE VOW, brings realism, humor and clarity to an often confusing issue. Clarke has developed a curriculum guide, which, along with her book, is being implemented in schools and universities throughout the United States and Ireland. Chicago Public Schools and Cleveland Public Schools are just two of the many systems who have adopted this powerful prevention initiative.

Mrs. Clarke currently resides in Ireland, with her husband and six children. She continues to work in the United States, providing counseling, granting interviews and speaking at formal engagements through her company, DVP, Inc. In Ireland, Clarke has trained guards, probation officers, teachers and counselors. Her dynamic and humorous speaking style warms audiences and sparks discussion and interaction, regardless of audience makeup.
