Hello, my name is Laina and I am a 16-year-old born and raised in San Diego, California. I am also known as a wanderer and dreamer who loves getting swept up in amazing worlds and stories. That probably explains why I am very, very passionate about books. Reading has always allowed for me to de-stress and temporarily forget about my current challenges by wandering my mind elsewhere. For as long as I can remember, I have always been the type of student who is often found reading during their spare time. Even though I am pretty occupied during the year with extracurricular activities, I can hardly ever be found without carrying at least one book with me wherever I go. When I am not studying for school or reading, I can be found practicing the violin, volunteering my time to watch my two-year-old cousin and helping at my local church thrift-shop. I am very fond of children and people, so I love being able to show compassion and provide a helping hand. I am an extreme nature enthusiast, who really enjoys traveling and exploring beautiful sceneries. In addition to that, I also have a really high interest in learning about other countries cultures and languages. I am open-minded, particularly to trying new things and food from anything like pizza to even fried crickets. Other facts about me are that I have a really unhealthy obsession with addictive Korean dramas, I really enjoy musical theater such as West Side Story, listening to K-pop especially BTS (Proud ARMY), watching anime and binge watching “F.R.I.E.N.D.S.” for like the millionth time. What can I say?!  I am a very expressive person who loves sharing her passions with the world!
