Fashionable Fiction

Early November 2016

Happy November! The weather is cooling down, but the fiction --- and fashion --- are definitely heating up this month. We've got some fun and different outfits for this week's fashionable fiction inspired by some of the big early November releases. From Wonderland's future Queen of Hearts, a robotic teenage bodyguard, and a greaser from the wrong side of town, to a young boy who dreams of being a poet, there is sure to be a character that will convince any YA reader to pick up one of these books.

First up is Catherine from HEARTLESS by Marissa Meyer. She would totally rock this vampy '90s inspired outfit like the queen she is. With a red velvet dress and a black motorcycle jacket, we totally heart this look.

Next up comes Nemesis from THE DIABOLIC b S.J. Kincaid, a new release that we are absolutely obsessed with. Our favorite part of this inspired outfit is the purse. The characters in this book always have a secret weapon on themselves for protection and the dagger hardware on this crossbody leather bag just screamed THE DIABOLIC.

Next is a character we all know and love, Ponyboy from S.E. Hinton's THE OUTSIDERS. This month marks the publication of the 50th Anniversary Edition of this classic story, one of the first novels to be considered a real "teen read." In true greaser fashion, we kepy Ponyboy's look street-certified and effortlessly edgy --- with a touch of gold on the watch, of course. Stay Gold, Ponyboy!

And last but not least we have Daniel from Nicola Yoon's latest novel THE SUN IS ALSO A STAR. Daniel's dream is to be a poet, but he knows his family would never approve. His struggle is one so many teens can relate to. We've put together a classic preppy look for Daniel with a pen and journal that he would definitely love. The cool watch, meanwhile, is a nod to the book's colorful cover.
