Fashionable Fiction: Holiday Edition

Happy December! The weather outside is frightful, but the fiction --- and fashion --- are definitely delightful this month. We've got some fun and different outfits for this week's fashionable fiction inspired by two different holiday reads. We have looks for both Dash and Lily from THE TWELVE DAYS OF DASH & LILY by David Levithan and Rachel Cohn, as well as Sierra and Caleb from WHAT LIGHT by Jay Asher. These are two great books to read with a cup of cocoa during your winter break and perhaps these outfits might give you some inspiration for your holiday festivities.

First up is Lily from THE TWELVE DAYS OF DASH & LILY by David Levithan and Rachel Cohn --- the much anticipated follow-up to DASH & LILY'S BOOK OF DARES --- which follows two teens in NYC who fall in love during the holiday season. These books have quickly become the go-to winter YA reads. The Lily-inspired outfit features the novel's bookish sensibility --- it's centered around one of our favorite indie bookstores The Strand --- as well as fashion fit for a fabulous stroll around NYC during the winter months.

Then we have Dash from THE TWELVE DAYS OF DASH & LILY by David Levithan and Rachel Cohn. Like Lily, we have styled an outfit that is perfect for their adventures around NYC. LAYERS, ALL THE LAYERS! This look is cool and casual with a pop of red for the holiday season.

Next is Sierra from Jay Asher's new novel WHAT LIGHT --- Jay Asher is also the author of THIRTEEN REASONS WHY. Sierra's family are Christmas tree farmers and every year they go down to California to sell their trees. Except this year is different, because she meets Caleb. We found the perfect sweater for Sierra with its Christmas tree elbows this is definitely perfect for her. We also couldn't resist adding a pink knit hat to match the cover.

And lastly we have Caleb from WHAT LIGHT by Jay Asher. Caleb has a troubled past and is a bit of a bad boy, which totally inspired our outfit selection. This look is cool and trendy with the bomber jacket and beanie. The red flannel gives just a touch of holiday flare.
