Blood and Chocolate by Annette Curtis Klause - Fantasy

Vivian Gandillon relishes the change, the sweet, fierce ache that carries her from girl to wolf. At 16, she is beautiful and strong, and all the young wolves are on her tail. But Vivian still grieves for her dead father; her pack remains leaderless and in disarray, and she feels lost in the suburbs of Maryland. She longs for a normal life. But what is normal for a werewolf?

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Book 1 by J. K. Rowling - Fantasy

Harry Potter knew nothing about magic. He was stuck with the decidedly un-magical Dursleys, where he slept in a closet and ate their leftovers…until an invitation to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry changed everything. As it turns out, Harry's already famous, and he's about to discover a world he never knew existed --- one that will bring him closer to his own destiny.

Angus, Thongs, and Full Frontal Snogging: Confessions of Georgia Nicolson by Louise Rennison - Contemporary Romance

Her dad's got the mentality of a Teletubby (only not so developed). Her cat, Angus, is trying to eat the poodle next door. And her best friend thinks she looks like an alien --- just because she accidentally shaved off her eyebrows. Ergghhhlack. Still, add a little boy-stalking, teacher-baiting, and full-frontal snogging with a Sex God, and Georgia's year just might turn out to be the most fabbitty fab fab ever.

Cut by Patricia McCormick - Fiction

A tingle arced across my scalp. The floor tipped up at me and my body spiraled away. Then I was on the ceiling looking down, waiting to see what would happen next. Callie cuts herself. Never too deep, never enough to die. But enough to feel the pain. Enough to feel the scream inside. Now she's at Sea Pines, a "residential treatment facility" filled with girls struggling with problems of their own. Callie doesn't want to have anything to do with them. She doesn't want to have anything to do with anyone. She won't even speak. But Callie can only stay silent for so long....

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares - Contemporary Fiction

During their first summer apart, four teenage girls, best friends since childhood, stay in touch through a shared pair of secondhand jeans that magically adapts to each of their figures. I'll be watching closely...

City of Bones: The Mortal Instruments, Book One by Cassandra Clare - Fantasy

When 15-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder --- much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. And she’s more than a little startled when the body disappears into thin air. Soon Clary is introduced to the world of the Shadowhunters, a secret cadre of warriors dedicated to driving demons out of our world and back to their own. And Clary is introduced with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is almost killed by a grotesque monster.

If I Stay by Gayle Forman - Contemporary Fiction

Seventeen-year-old Mia had everything to live for --- a loving family, a beloved boyfriend, and her brilliant cello playing (and, very possibly, an acceptance to Juilliard). Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan - Contemporary Fiction

You aren't alone. Try it --- Google your name. The difference is that they're not you, and you're not them. Which is why a chance meeting between two radically different Will Graysons shouldn't change the world. But it does. Because nothing stays the same when you make it about love.
