It’s getting down to the wire time-wise to figure out what you’re going to be for Halloween. You already know about my autumn/Halloween obsessions…so clearly I’ve thought up about five Halloween costumes and am STILL uncertain about what I’m going to be on Halloween. Fortunately, one of my closest college friends insisted on dressing up together this year --- I’m going to be the Belle to his Gaston --- for a party, so that’s all set. But what to be ON Halloween? Part of me wants to be Katniss or Tris (obviously), but I also like acting out on Halloween by finding a costume that can allow you to do whatever you want! I may be deciding between being a tourist (Excuse me, sir. Can you help me find the bathroom on this map???) or a yoga instructor (No no no. That is poor form. You must breathe into your “back heart!”). But to be honest, talking about these costumes so much has diminished some of their novelty to me. Do you have any ideas for what I should be???

Autumn is by far my favorite time of year. I feel like I say this a lot, but it’s absolutely true. Of course, I try to forget that the foreshadowing chill and shortened daylight means winter is not too far away. Those of you who live in warm climates may not fully understand this fall phenomenon. However, the chai lattes, pumpkin pie, sweaters and changing colors of leaves just set the perfect mood for curling up with a great book and reading, don’t you think? Never mind the opportunity at the end of the month to finally BECOME your favorite literary character on Halloween!
