Hello Teenreaders!


We hope that all of you survived the MANY snowstorms and frigid weather. And yes, I know that our readers live all over the country, but "all of you" isn't much of an exaggeration --- last week, 49 out of 50 states had snow on the ground! (Florida was the lucky exception…I guess the “The Sunshine State” is an accurate nickname).
 

When I'm not shivering in what feels like a real-life version of Frozen (does anyone have a Snow Queen for an older sister that they didn't tell us about?), here's what I've been thinking about this month: classic books. At Teenreads we love talk about what's cool and new (in fact, we have a section of our website with that very title), but there are lots of older books that tug at our heartstrings, too.

Besides being surrounded by a huge pile (let’s face it --- several huge piles) of books all the time, one of my favorite parts of working at The Book Report is getting to meet the people behind the books. This can be anyone --- authors (of course!), but also editors, publicists, librarians, book critics…the list goes on!

Luckily, the past two weeks have been all about meeting the amazing people who “make books happen.” On Saturday, January 25, I went to the American Library Association’s Midwinter Meeting for the day, which was sensational! Some highlights:
