Archives - Teenreads Monthly Update

Hi Teenreaders,

What did you do last Saturday --- see a movie or hang out with friends? Or, like some of our Teen Board members (and myself!) did you participate in the first annual National Readathon Day?

Sponsored by the National Book Foundation, Penguin Random House, Goodreads and Mashable, this newfound celebration of books encouraged people from across the country to read between noon and 4pm on Saturday, January 24th, whether at a sponsored "reading party" at a bookstore or library or on their living room couch. Readers could join a team and raise money to sponsor the National Book Foundation's programs or just peruse a book to celebrate the spirit of literacy.

Happy New Year, Teenreaders!

I hope you're having a lovely start to 2015, and maybe even made some resolutions so that this year is even better than the last. People have different opinions about the practice of making resolutions, but I'm firmly in the camp of "let's be incredibly ambitious and aim to do 18 things to make this the best year ever" and then slowly wheedle them down as the months progress (I found this really funny chart about it and I am firmly in the ENFP camp...did I ever mention that I was obsessed with the Myers Briggs test?).

Anyway, while I can't really help you with the personal items on your list --- eating healthier and not waiting until the last minute to do your homework is all on you --- I can provide some ideas to make 2015 an even more literary year than 2014.
