Archives - Teenreads Monthly Update

Hi Teenreaders!

Sunday, September 27th is going to be awesome, and not because it's “Crush a Can Day” or “Tourism Day” (although if you want take your angst out on an old Coke container or visit a new city, don’t let me stop you).

I’m excited about September 27th because it’s the beginning of one of the most important weeks of the year, book-wise: Banned Books Week! Ever since 1982, the American Library Association (ALA) has been “celebrating” this seven-day holiday to raise awareness for book censorship and the freedom to read.

Hi Teenreaders!

A couple of Mondays ago, you were probably frantically back-to-school shopping or nervously attending some of your first classes of the year. I, on the other hand, was basking by my boss’s pool, eating barbeque chicken and obsessively coloring in some intricate fish fins in LOST OCEAN: An Inky Adventure and Coloring Book by Johanna Basford, which will be in stores on October 27th.

Yes, you read that right…coloring.
