Archives - Teenreads Monthly Update

If you follow Teenreads on Facebook and Twitter, you know that we recently shared some pretty big news: next week, I’ll be at BookExpo (BEA), a major event for publishing professionals to discuss new books and book trends, moderating the Young Adult Author Buzz panel. If you’re unfamiliar with the Buzz program, it’s one of the most notable panels at BEA for its ability to launch new books and create awareness for titles that the committee believes will resonate with readers in 2017. In other words, these are the books you want to add to your TBR immediately. This year’s Young Adult Buzz Authors are Tillie Walden for SPINNING (September); Tochi Onyebuchi for BEASTS MADE OF NIGHT (October); Samantha Mabry for ALL THE WIND IN THE WORLD (October); Dashka Slater for THE 57 BUS: A True Story of Two Teenagers and the Crime That Changed Their Lives (October); and Nic Stone for DEAR MARTIN (October).

In our last update, I talked about Independent Bookstore Day and shared my plans to visit Short Stories Bookshop in Madison, NJ. If you follow us on Instagram, you already know that I had a blast. In a fun turn of events, Short Stories teamed up with a tabletop gaming store, so the crowd was huge, and everyone received KINDRED SPIRITS, a free Rainbow Rowell book, which you can see above.
