Archives - Teenreads Monthly Update

Now that turkey day is behind us, it's officially time to start thinking about the holidays --- if you're like me, this means figuring out which books would make the best gifts for my friends and loved ones (and who am I kidding, I'm definitely thinking about gifts for myself too). We'll be sharing our full gift guide in mid-December, so if you have any ideas in the meantime, feel free to shoot me a note or tweet me at @teenreads.

Last night was one of the biggest nights in publishing: The National Book Awards, a night when we celebrate the best books of the year in four separate categories: Young People's Literature, Poetry, Nonfiction and Fiction. I was there along with Carol Fitzgerald to cover the event. Hearing the winners announced firsthand and being in a room with all that energy about books made it a night to remember.

If you are anything like me, you are probably reading this newsletter with a pile of empty candy wrappers around you, anxiously wondering just how many Milky Ways are TOO many, or what to eat next. Believe me, I’m with you. The good news is that we’re welcoming a lot of great new reads this month, and nothing soothes a candy hangover like curling up with a good book.
