All the Crooked Saints

Review

All the Crooked Saints

ALL THE CROOKED SAINTS by Maggie Stiefvater is about the Soria family. They are no ordinary family. They have the power to perform miracles. The book follows Beatriz, Daniel and Joaquin. They all perform miracles but they are all individually different. Beatriz is a girl without feelings. Daniel who is known as “the Saint of Bicho Raro” is selfless and will perform miracles for everyone but never himself. And then there is Joaquin who goes by the name “Diablo Diablo” when he hosts his radio station. This novel includes forbidden love, owls, and saints.

When I picked this book up I instantly fell in love with each of the characters. The author really knows how to write and create amazing characters. The summary I read before reading the book was very vague and I think that is what made me the book even more captivating to me. Not knowing much about the book only made me want to read the book more because of how intriguing the summary I read was.

"You are definitely in for a wild ride when you pick this book up. I had such a fun time reading this book and I cannot wait to read more by Maggie Stiefvater!"

The story is so unique from anything I have ever read. All of Maggie Stiefvater’s books have such unique plots and I never know how she comes up with them. It’s amazing how creative and well thought out they are. Along with the plot the author’s writing style is also so unique. It has a way of drawing you in and it made me never want to put the book down.

An issue I had with this book was that the magic system in the book confused me a little bit but I began to understand it as the book progressed and I began to really appreciate it. The point of views also struck some confusion in me because the author would randomly jump from different points of view in the book.

This book will definitely leave you wanting more. I would really like to see spin-off books and maybe see the backstories of characters (especially Daniel) because she left so much room for more books which I appreciate but I also am forced to wait for more

Like I said before I could not put this book down. This was the first book by Maggie Stiefvater I have ever picked up but she has written popular book series such as The Raven Cycle series and The Wolves of Mercy Falls series. I am very excited to pick up these other works by her and hopefully enjoy them as much as I enjoyed ALL THE CROOKED SAINTS.

I would definitely recommend this book to anybody who loves wild and crazy stories. Like I said before the magic system can get confusing but if you love magical stories that captivate you then this is the book for you! You are definitely in for a wild ride when you pick this book up. I had such a fun time reading this book and I cannot wait to read more by Maggie Stiefvater!
