Eleventh Grade Burns: The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod, Book 4

Against his will, Vlad moved closer, bending his head to the
side, beckoning Dorian to drain his veins dry. Dorian’s fangs
slipped from his gums, ready, eager to partake, his eyes locked on
the throbbing blue vein on Vlad’s neck.

Inside Vlad’s skull, Vlad ranted, raved, screamed, but
there was nothing he could do to stop this moment from

PROBLEM #1: Dorian is an all-powerful, handsome
vampire. The moment he is introduced to Vlad, he is determined to
have his blood. Dorian knows of the intrigues with D’Ablo,
the trial that Otis will be facing (in fact, Dorian can help Otis
if Vlad cooperates). There is not much that Dorian does not know as
he has telepathic and mind control skills beyond any other vampire.
The other important thing about Dorian is that he processes the
prophecy that tells about the Pravus. This is vital information for
Vlad, and there may be only one way to get it from Dorian.

PROBLEM #2: Soon Uncle Otis will face the
Elysian Council and, in all probability, will be sentenced to
death. There were so many rules he broke while saving Vlad and
hiding the boy from dangers. Vlad must now find a way to help him,
and if he is indeed the Pravus, then surely something can be done.
It is now obvious that Aunt Nelly and Otis have fallen in love.
This, of course, is another broken rule: vampires cannot mate with

PROBLEM #3: Joss (former friend and vampire
slayer) and his family are back in town, and whatever friendship
they had is a thing of the past. After all, a stake in the back
along with the stalking thing can tell you a lot. Vlad, however, is
still hopeful that it is possible to change Joss. He wants his old
friend back. Uncle Otis and Vikas know better and prophetically
warn Vlad:

It is your denial that will end your life, just as sure as
his stake

Joss sees all vampires as evil and bloodthirsty. His little
sister was their victim, and Joss is determined to avenge her death
by ridding the world of these creatures. Vlad is not going to get
away this time.

PROBLEM #4: Vlad has developed a real need to
feed from the source (real humans). In other words, he now feeds
regularly from the Goth girl, Snow. He cannot allow himself a
relationship with Meredith because of his blood hunger, and he
feels his needs growing. He also finds his emotions becoming
increasingly conflicted because he cares so much for Snow. He hates
this beast part of himself.

PROBLEM #5: Eddie Poe and his camera. This
determined nerd needs to prove to the world that Vlad is a monster
so he can be a hero. He manages to trap Vlad with a chain of garlic
around his neck one night, and things get really bad.

PROBLEM #6: Someone breaks into Vlad’s
hiding place, takes his father’s journal and tears things
apart. Is it the vengeful Joss? Could there be somebody else?

TOO MANY PROBLEMS: D’Ablo is now part of
the Council of Elders that will determine Uncle Otis’s fate.
Snow has fallen in love with Vlad. Vikas’s life is
threatened, and something horrible happens to Tristan,
Vikas’s drudge. Uncle Otis takes him on a “hunt”
that he will never forget. Joss is going out with Meredith, the
ultimate betrayer in all things. If he is the Pravus, will he
totally become a monster, ruling over humankind and vampires? How
much longer can he fend off Dorian? His friends and family are
being threatened. At what cost can he save them?

Minions, expect the unexpected. Dorian shares some most sacred
secrets with Vlad and gives him what no one would ever expect. In a
terrifying, tragic confrontation between Joss and Vlad, someone
totally unforeseen appears. Now you’re in for a real
surprise. Thank goodness the next book is going to solve some of
these problems.  Well, we think it might. Like the vampires,
we must be patient. Don’t forget to check out Auntie
