Extraordinary

Phoebe Gutle Rothschild is the teenage daughter of the famous and lovely Catherine Rothschild, a powerful and intelligent woman who is gifted with talent, beauty and grace. Although good and generous, in comparison to her extraordinary mother, Phoebe feels she doesn’t measure up. Both ladies are descendents of Meyer Rothschild, legendary founder of the powerful financial empire.

For several years, Mallory Tolliver has been Phoebe’s best friend. Since the girls first met in seventh grade, they’ve become almost inseparable. Mallory lives with her mentally unbalanced mother, who spends her days eating Skittles and sleeping on the living room couch. Phoebe and her parents are generous to Mallory and her mom and help provide for her care.

In reality, Mallory is not Mrs. Tolliver’s daughter at all; she’s the daughter of the Faerie Queen. Mallory has a secret reason for posing as Mrs. Tolliver's daughter and cultivating a close relationship with Phoebe. Mallory has been sent to Earth to save the fairy kingdom, which is about to perish unless a centuries-old debt is repaid. Time is running out. The survival of Mallory’s people depends on Phoebe because of a bargain made between the Faerie Queen and Phoebe’s powerful, wealthy and world-famous ancestor centuries ago.

While Mallory continues to test Phoebe to determine if she is the one chosen to fulfill the bargain and save the fairy community, she finds her loyalties split between her best friend and her family. As the situation becomes dire and her family’s survival is put in jeopardy, the Faerie Queen sends Mallory’s brother, Ryland, to Earth. Ryland’s mission is to entice Phoebe to make good on Mallory’s promise. How far will Ryland and Phoebe go to protect the livelihood of their people? Is Phoebe the Rothschild daughter destined to fulfill her extraordinary family’s debt?
