My Lady Jane

Review

My Lady Jane

MY LADY JANE is written by not one, not two, but three amazing young adult authors. Brodi Ashton, Jodi Meadows and Cynthia Hand worked together to expertly craft this novel. For some background, Brodi Ashton is the author of the Everneath Trilogy. Jodi Meadows is the author of the Incarnate Trilogy and THE ORPHAN QUEEN duology. Cynthia Hand is the New York Times bestselling author of the Unearthly Trilogy.

"Jodi Ashton, Cynthia Hand and Jodi Meadows created an epic alternate history of Lady Jane that is bound to capture the attention of all types of readers."

It was so fascinating to me that this book was written by three authors and I was very intrigued to see how their styles would blend. Luckily, this book lived up to my hopes, and it was absolutely fantastic. The combination of history and fiction made a hilariously entertaining novel. I knew little about Lady Jane, who in real life became the Queen of England for just nine days before being executed. These three authors conspired to create a much better and happier story about Jane. The romance between the two sets of characters was adorable and slow-burning.The plot was relentless and kept me on the edge of my seat. The addition of fantastical elements to the time of the Tudor’s reign made very interesting parallels between actual religious conflicts during that time. Overall, I found myself literally laughing out loud while reading this book. The length was just what I could have asked for because I always want more of the story and this was over 500 pages.

Jodi Ashton, Cynthia Hand and Jodi Meadows created an epic alternate history of Lady Jane that is bound to capture the attention of all types of readers. It was historical and romantic, yet hysterical and sarcastic. I recommend this to readers of all genres because it truly does surpass many genre barriers. This book is one you are going to want to just sit down and read because you can’t put it down.
