Rapture: A Fallen Novel

Luce comes back to Daniel every 17 years, but never for long. When the truth becomes too much for her, she dies, and Daniel is left to overcome it each time. This time around, though, is different.  In their most recent life, Luce is able to learn more than she ever has before, but it comes with a price. This time, if Luce dies, she dies for good.

"I have never been happier with the ending of a book. I was worried about how the author would conclude everything, but she did it in such a way that could not have been more perfect.... RAPTURE is a present that Lauren Kate wrapped up for all her fans to enjoy over and over again for decades upon decades to come."

In PASSION, the previous installment of the Fallen series, Luce uses Announcers to jump through time. Desperately trying to uncover the truth about her relationship with Daniel, she is determined to finally find out why this all began in the first place. However, her past lives are not the only surprises revealed. Bill, her guide through time, turns out to be Lucifer, who wants his own revenge against Luce. And Luce cannot seem to figure out why. Which brings us to RAPTURE, the final book in the series.

Luce, Daniel and their angel companions have nine days to search the world for a way to stop Lucifer from recreating the Fall and rewriting history. Therefore, they must determine the exact location where the angels fell to earth so many millennia ago. The group breaks up to find three relics that will give them the key to do so, but it’s not as easy as it sounds. The angels and Luce have no idea what or where the relics are --- only rough sketches that Daniel drew centuries ago. However, the relics are not the only things that Luce needs to find.

Luce worries about all the parts of her past lives that are missing, and the only way to break the curse lies within her. She must remember as far back as she can through her past lives to unlock the ultimate truth, but does she have what it takes? And what will happen when she realizes that she was meant to love someone else? That the curse has always been about her and only her? If everything else she has encountered hasn’t killed her, this sure might.

Will Luce and Daniel be able to end the curse that has been haunting them for millennia? And will Luce finally remember all the memories she has lost along the way? Or will Lucifer get his way and defeat the love that spans throughout history?

When it comes to series, I am always so afraid that the last book is going to leave me asking a ton of questions. RAPTURE, however, left me speechless. I have never been happier with the ending of a book. I was worried about how the author would conclude everything, but she did it in such a way that could not have been more perfect. The love story between Luce and Daniel intensifies more so than I thought possible, and honestly the worst thing about this book is that it had to end. Turning the last page was bittersweet.

You surely will not want to put this book down, even through the wee hours of the morning, when you really should be getting to bed. It just might be better than your dreams, anyway. RAPTURE is a present that Lauren Kate wrapped up for all her fans to enjoy over and over again for decades upon decades to come.
