This Is the Story of You

Mira Banul is a year-rounder on Haven, a small barrier island, and she’s proud of it. When all the vacationing families finally leave after Labor Day weekend, Mira and her friends have total rule of the island. They spend their days in school and on the beach, enjoying everything the island has to offer.
But one day everything changes when a huge storm decimates the Haven community. Mira’s family is stuck on the mainland and Mira struggles to take care of herself and her house. This island-wide tragedy opens the minds and the hearts of all the community members and results in a beautiful display of support for each other.

"THIS IS THE STORY OF YOU was an enormous reminder of the significance of family and community, especially in times of need."

Don’t read THIS IS THE STORY OF YOU by Beth Kephart if you’re scared of feeling intense emotions. Kephart took my heart, fed it a story of colorful characters and strong imagery and then crushed me beneath the weight of overwhelming reality. I could feel her controlling each character like it was one of her puppets in a puppet show.

THIS IS THE STORY OF YOU was an enormous reminder of the significance of family and community, especially in times of need. It woke me up to the reality of life while comforting me with the actuality of love. I would strongly recommend this book to any reader looking for a strong, heartfelt story with dynamic characters.
